My bed is incredibly soft and plush. I couldn't help but sigh in delight because it was so comfortable. I laid over and extended out my hand.
"Ouch!" I screamed when I realized I had landed on the floor. I touched my waist while I was scratching my head.
When I looked around the room, I realized it wasn't Melissa's. In fairness, it was a lovely and cozy place. The cream-colored curtain was partially opened in order to let some light into the room.
Seashells have been carved into the wall, and a painting hangs directly in front of the bed.
A brown brick wall caught my eye. It was leading the way to the opened restroom. It was an expensive-looking room.
"Wait, where am I?"
"What did I do last night?" I gave myself a small whack on the back of my head. I realize it was a stupid decision, as if it would aid my memory in any way.
I stood in front of the large mirror and stared at myself, still trying desperately to recall what had happened the night before. But here's what I've come to realize...
"Gosh! What happened to my lovely face?"
"It's a good thing you're already awake, Kaoree." I almost jumped out of my seat when Wyn entered the room. He is entirely bare-chested, with only half of his body covered.
He doesn't have six-pack abs, only a flat stomach, but why does he….
I swallowed and smiled a bit. Why does he appear to be so attractive. But, no! Kaoree, take it easy! If you continue to think about it, you might not like what will happen.
"I don't think I'm awake, Wyn, I'm still dreaming."
"You're funny," he said, pinching the bridge of my nose.
If I'm funny, why didn't he laugh?
But, wait a minute, I just noticed that there are only two of us in this entire room. I gulped a little more. Wait a minute, Kaoree. Please, for the love of God, calm yourself down. I have no doubt that you did not give up your most precious pearl last night.
I recall Jez telling me that it would be quite painful if you went through with it. I assess myself but felt nothing. Everything appears to be perfectly normal. Safe.
Oh my goodness, Kaoree, why do you sound like such a maniac?
"Ah, I'll go out so you can dress up."
"Just go right to the kitchen and eat," he added with an innocent smile.
I turned the knob and heaved a deep sigh when I finally got out of the room. I leaned against the door and clenched my chest, I could immediately feel my heart beating faster and louder.
I lost my balance and fell when the door unexpectedly opened. I immediately rose to my feet and regained my composure.
"Why are you leaning against the door? Are you feeling alright?" Wyn asked, his voice filled with concern.
"I'm fine." I feigned a smile. "I just did a walling, you know, like the one I saw on television," I explained, a little awkwardlyly.
"O-Okay? Here's a comb to help you straighten out your messed-up hair. After you've finished eating, go to the powder room, which is located near the kitchen."
I nodded in agreement as I listened to his instructions. I took a close look at the brush he had given me. Powder room? What am I going to do in a powder room?
I walked right into the kitchen and took a seat on the counter. It doesn't take long for the aroma of a Filipino dish known as sinigang na hipon to invade my nostrils. There's also a fried bacon option available.
My meal took about 15 minutes to consume. . I wasn't expecting to be able to finish an entire bowl of food.
Wait, what if Wyn doesn't have anything to eat?
I got to my feet and took a worried look at the pot. I felt as though my world had been brightened when I discovered that there is still food available.
I was walking down the corridor when I noticed a room. Is this the powder room? Opening the door, I noticed that there was a sink and a mirror.
I began fixing my hair with the brush Wyn had given me. I was having a difficult time combing it since it was so tangled. My scalp was in excruciating pain because of my insistence on combing it even when there was knotted hair.
"Kaoree! Where are you?!" Jez had a really strong voice, which I recognized immediately.
I rapidly comb my hair to ensure that it is in the best condition possible since I don't want Jez to see me in this state. However, it was too late.
"What exactly happened, girl? Why do you look that way? Are you a beggar?!" He bombarded me with questions even before I had the opportunity to respond.
He helped me in fixing my hair and procured his own brush so that we could detangle my hair more easily.
"What kind of shampoo do you use?" He inquired, his voice full of curiosity.
"Rehope that smoothens and gives silks to our hair," I confidently said.
"You're using Rehope, right? Why does look like you are using laundry detergent?" he said and rolled his eyes.
I snatch the comb from his grasp and pull it away, "I'll take care of it. The only thing you're doing here is making fun of me."
He didn't even try to stop me from doing what I wanted to do. He has his wrists crossed and his brows arched as he watches me.
"I heard about the scandal you're involved in last night."
I gave him my whole attention, "What's the big deal here? You sound like I had committed a murder."
"You witch! What was the reason for your excessive drinking the night before? You look like a total disaster, girl."
I paused what I was doing and looked into the mirror. Fragments of memories began to come back into my consciousness like a torrent.
"JEZ! It's unbearably painful."
"Crazy! That's just a guy! There are plenty more fish in the sea!"
My shoulder sank down. It felt like a big hit to me when he said that. This is a bad thing I did because I let alcohol and my feelings get the best of me last night.
Jez hugged me and gently rubbed my back to make me feel better.
"I thought you were interested in Wyn. Imagine how shocked I was when I found out that you have a real crush on T. H!"
I scowled. I don't know why I ended up liking him, but I did. Because he's different, that might be why. He made me feel a very unique way.
"Melissa would show up at any time now, so you need to hurry up!"
Afterwards, he showed me the clothes he bought for me and let me wear them.
"Remember, you have to go to T. H and Rosella's wedding. Show him what he wasted. Act prim and proper."
I looked at him with a bemused expression on my face. Is this somebody truly wishing to hurt me?
"I understand what you're thinking. The reason I'm telling you this is that I don't want you to look desperate. T. H. doesn't care for you any longer, obviously, girl. Recall what you stated in the video, don't you? You are just his past time." He said while applying a bb cream and a delicate pink lipstick to my lips.
"Video?"
"Hello! You are currently trending on YouTube because of your stupidity."
I instantly borrowed his cellphone, which had been placed on the side table, but Jez was adamant that I not do so.
"Don't even bother looking at it! There are so many negative comments that it would make you feel stressed!"
I chuckled and flipped my hair back.
"What do you think of me, Jez? A weakling? I'm capable of dealing with it. If I ever decide to start a YouTube channel, at least I know how many subscribers I'd receive."
"You're seriously thinking about that? You've gone completely insane!"Download Novelah App
