“I appreciate. You and Edwin would go to the suburban area to pick some players. You would use one of the coaster buses.”
“It is all right, Sir.”
“Meet Edwin for the details.”
“It is noted, boss.”
He went to meet Edwin at his desk, and they agreed to leave the Industrial Area by 1pm.
“It is all right by me, Mr. Nura,” Edwin agreed with Ahmed before he left.
At the Chairman's Office.
Mr. Morris and Jeff watched the Live Appearance of the General Manager and Fredrick, and they were pleased with their presentation because they projected the image of the Cherry Fields Oil and Gas Group positively.
After the program, the Chairman asked Jeff about his budget once again, "Jeffrey, I'm waiting for your budget.”
“All right, dad, I will give you the feedback in the next ten minutes.”
“Ten minutes? What is keeping you?”
“I want to get the exact sizes of two of my team members who will join us today.”
“How come they are just joining you today, where have they been?”
Mr. Morris asked with despair. He was worried about the people who had not been training for days, and wondered how they would catch up, but he believed in Jeff's judgment to an extent. To allay his fears, Jeff told him what he would like to hear.
“They have been in the boarding school. They will be back today for the Independent Anniversary Celebration.”
“I see. So, how do you intend to get their measurements in ten minutes?”
“I'm going to their father's office to get the information right away.”
“Their father's office?” Mr. Morris wondered. He was imagining how Jeff intended to leave the Industrial Area and come back from wherever in the next ten minutes. The walk from the first floor to the parking lot would take about five minutes. So, how did Jeff plan to leave the premises, go to the team members' father and return to him within ten minutes?
“Yes, dad," Jeff answered, and fastened his Purple Tag. Having noticed him fastening his Purple Tag, he asked, “Where is their father's office?”
“Their father's office is on the ninth floor,” he pointed out with a silly smirk on his face. Then, Mr. Morris glared at him before he turned to his system, and continued with his work. Then Jeff apologized before he left for the ninth floor. “I apologize for the suspense, dad.”
Mr. Morris smiled in ecstasy and responded, “No worries, son.”
However, Jeff was becoming free with him, and he loved it that way. Then, he remembered.
'Oh! I have never thought of Gabriel's children since I came. That is a serious oversight.'
At The General Manager's Office.
Jeff knocked when he got to the office, and opened the door at once. He walked in, and Madam Abigail was the first person to see him as Edwin was discussing with Ahmed who was seated before him. The moment she saw him with the Purple Tag, she stood up and greeted.
“Good day, Sir.”
The voice of Madam Abigail attracted the attention of Edwin and Ahmed, and they looked at the door immediately. They did as Madam Abigail did by standing up too.
“Good day, Sir.”
“Good day to you all. Can I see the General Manager, please?” He looked at Madam Abigail, and requested.
“You're free to see him, Sir. The door is not locked.”
“Thank you, Madam.”
Now, Jeff opened the General Manager's Office, and walked in. The General Manager was calm because he had already seen him from the CCTV as soon as he exited the lift. He gave him a welcome smile and ushered him to the visitor's seat. Then, Jeff greeted, “Good day, Mr. Johnson.”
“Good day, Mr. Israel. Welcome to my office. May I know how I can help you?”
Jeff smiled at his officious approach, and unfastened the Purple Tag. Then, Gabriel laughed hysterically and asked, “Are you tired of being the boss already?”
Jeff laughed at his joke before he went straight to the point, “I just want to know if Frank and Francisca are back.”
“Yes. They are back. They came back about twenty minutes ago.”
“Oh! That's good.”
“Is there any way I can get their measurements?”
“Measurements of what? Is it shoes, shirt, or what?”
“All of them.”
“It is okay.”
He took a piece of paper and wrote their various sizes and pushed the paper to Jeff, who took it and scanned through it. Then he inquired, “If I may ask, what is it for?”
“I want to place an order for our sports attires.”
“We have already made arrangements for that. We have sports attires for children,” Gabriel explained.
“Children?” Jeff asked in bewilderment. Then, he fastened his Purple Tag properly, to remind the General Manager that the person before him was not a child, and stood from his chair. Likewise, he announced, “We will not put on what children will wear. I must take my leave. Excuse me.”
“Oh! Adults. Pardon my oversight.”
Jeff could not help but laugh aloud at the sarcastic way he mentioned adults before he exited. By the time he got to the reception, Ahmed had left. Then, he bade Edwin and Madam Abigail farewell, “I should be on my way.”
“All right, Sir," they chorused.
'I will wait and see what you will wear,’ the General Manager murmured after he left.
At the Chairman's Office.
Jeff walked into the office, and sat before Mr. Morris, who had been anxiously awaiting his return. Thereafter, he asked, “Did you succeed in getting the measurements?”
“Yes dad.”
“Let me have them.”
Jeff handed over the paper to Mr. Morris. He scanned through it, and placed the order immediately. Jeff trusted his sense of fashion, judging from what he bought for him when they were in Kenya, than Gabriel. Besides, he called his things children's wear, and that had disqualified his offer.
The sports attire company promised to deliver the attires on Sunday evening because they have to customize as well.
At Ken's House
After Fredrick returned to the hotel, he took his family to Ken's house, where Dora had been waiting for them. They got down to business as soon as they arrived. Jewel was at home while Jeff was at work. David and Austin became busy with the wrapping of the cutlery with serviettes for the two thousand five hundred packs of food which the Canadian Embassy will take to the various Internally Displaced Persons Camp across the Federal Capital Territory.
