“I love that. The upcoming event will improve governance in the country, and youths should be the ambassadors of good governance wherever they find themselves.”
Now, the Head of Programs turned to the camera and summarized.
“All I can see in the upcoming event of the Cherry Fields Oil and Gas Group is patriotism. Yes. That's patriotism. Investing in the youths of any nation is the highest patriotism. Remember that on Monday is the day of the event. This is where we draw the curtain for today. On behalf of all of us in the studio, I say Remain Patriotic until the coming Saturday when we meet again for another edition of the program THE OTHER SIDE OF GOVERNANCE. Bye.”
Thereafter, the presenter shook hands with his two guests, and commended them.
“You're exceptionally prepared for the program. You made the work effortless for me. I hope to see you again.”
“It is our pleasure.”
Naomi clapped for them as the husband and Victor left their seats to meet her where she was seated. The husband gave her a peck and sat beside her while Victor stood. Then, Naomi looked at her, and commended
“You all did very well. That was great.”
“Thank you, madam,” Victor appreciated. Then, Naomi faced Tom and commended too, “Thank you presenter. You did a good job.”
“It is my pleasure, madam.”
Before they walked to the reception to meet Edwin and Nura, who stood up to receive them, she gave the Head of Programs and the presenter, a fat brown envelope which he collected cheerfully, and appreciated inaudibly, “Thank you, Madam.”
The three camera men were not left out in her spending spree. When the husband saw her doing that, he smiled, placed his left hand on her shoulder and whispered the usual name he calls her when she goes on a spending spree.
“The General Manager's Wife.”
She smiled happily and walked on.
“Congratulations sir. Victor, you did well,” Ahmed and Edwin cheered them simultaneously.
“Thank you all. Shall we be on our way?” The General Manager announced, and led the way while others walked behind him. To their surprise, they could not leave the premises. The Federal Television Authority was in a state of siege, which was beyond Ahmed and the other security guards.
Howbeit, while they were on the air, some group of youths who recognized Victor were perplexed. They felt that they deserved equal opportunities as Victor, if not better. Likewise, they took to the internet and began to post their various achievements.
“What has he done that we have not done? I mobilized youths to sweep the streets every day.”
“I single-handedly built a public toilet.”
“I'm an optician, I give free eye care.”
“I am a medical doctor, I help in training the traditional birth attendants.”
“I am going to the Television Station right away. I must be recognized, too.”
At that point, they decided to rush to the Television Station. The first set of people to get there took selfies by the gate, and shared on their social media pages. Others followed suite. Before the thirty minutes Program was over, the station's two entrances were crowded with more than five thousand youths. Some were with placards with their thoughts written boldly on it.

Meanwhile, their demands were endless.
At the Village of the Public School.
At that point, the people were divided. Some were happy, while some were not.
“Victor has made our community proud.”
“I know he will excel.”
“God bless you, Victor.”
“I was the person who retained him in the primary school,” the Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of the Local School said. He had attempted to sack him because he was not a native of that community, and he hated him with perfect hatred. Not only that, he was one of those who sabotaged the efforts of the government through the Youth Program. Many youths would have loved to go to the rural communities like Victor, but when they remember the hostility of the members of the community, they decline.
Now, he claimed that he helped him. Enemies within and without.
Meanwhile, the General Manager and his team were not aware of the number of people at the gates because they were locked. They were only able to see a few through the barbed wire fence.
At the Residential Area
Mr. Morris, had gone to take his shower after the program ended. He had been watching them with excitement. Likewise, Mr. Israel, he began to speak with Jasper, his Estate Manager as soon as the program ended. When Gabriel realized that he could not leave the station, he gave Ken a call, but it was unable to go through. Then, he called on the Chairman, but he did not pick.
At the Station
“Let's go back to the reception until I get to the Vice Chairman or the Chairman,” he told his team members. He walked back to the reception with his wife and Victor, but Ahmed and the security guards remained outside, and looked out to see if there was a way out.
Different people with their different problems. The hostess had left the reception for her office and was weeping. She was disappointed because her chance of being in bed with the General Manager of a leading Oil Company was ruined. She had cancelled all her appointments for the weekend, and hoped that her plans would work. The other straw that shattered the camel's back completely was the comments she saw about her program on social media.
“I know that the General Manager's wife will never allow that whore near her husband.”
“That woman does not joke with her husband.”
“Other women should learn how to protect their husbands from this woman. My uncle sent his wife packing after appearing on this program.”
“The presenter today should carry on with the Program.”
“We don't want that home breaker anymore on that Program.”
Nonetheless, the youths included that in their protest placards.
THE OTHER SIDE OF GOVERNANCE SHOULD NOT BE ANCHORED BY A WHORE.
Now, the television station was not resting. The Head of Programs, who was the only Manager on duty, got a call from the Head of News, and he informed him of his predicament, “Tom, I'm trapped on the road. Kindly break the news of the siege.”
“It is all right. I will do that right now.”
Thereafter, the Head of Programs took some camera men, and climbed to the last floor of the building. They were able to capture the pictures, and video clips of the protesters and the inscriptions on their placards. As soon as they were done, they ran to the studio to break the news:
BREAKING NEWS – Protesting Youths Besieged the Gate of the Federal Television Authority.
Nevertheless, Ken, who had been on call, but his eyes were on the television in the room, saw it, and excused himself. “Excuse me, Jasper. I will call you back, please.”
He cut the call at once, and turned on the volume of the television with the remote control that was by his side.
“What?” He screamed when he saw the crowd. Now, his screaming startled Dora, who was sleeping soundly on his lap. Then, she woke up, and asked, “What happened, hubby?”
“Watch the television.”
Dora watched the television but could not understand what was going on. She was only seeing youths with placards. Nevertheless, when she got the true picture, she inquired, “I hope that Gabriel had left the place?”
“I think so. Let me give him a call.”
Ken picked up his phone and looked at it, he discovered that he had missed Gabriel's calls, and hurriedly called his number, and he picked at once, “How far, Gabriel? I hope you have left the station before the protest?”
“No. We are still here. We are seated at the reception.”
“What? Did you see that crowd?”
“Yes, we are watching the breaking news.”
“Okay, just be calm. I will get back to you. What of Ahmed?”
“I think he is outside with the security guards.”
“Okay. I will get back,” he promised and gave Ahmed a call immediately.
