Clary has never been so rude to him and this gave him a huge auprise. He do succumb to his words no matter the situation but now the little guy seems rebellious.
Larry gave a thwarted sigh. He surely knows that even though Clary is a little four year old, he doesn't bluff. He will surely do as he promised.
Then he thought if he really wants to come back to meet his only child after his trip, he should let his guard down. He has no choice than to gibe in to his boy's plea.
After much contemplation and reluctance, he took his phone.
"I'm doing the right thing" he assured himself as he diales her number.
He even wish she didn't pick up so he would have something to hinge on but Somaria picked after the third ring.
"Hello this is Larry Connor" he introduced knowing she doesn't have his contact because Clary is always using the home phone to call her.
"Please who bears that?" Somaria asked with polished politeness.
Larry snorts as if he expected her just to decode who is on the line as if he do talk to her whenever she visits or call.
"Clary's dad" he replies as if he was forces.
"Oh how are you sir?" she asked wondering why he would call her all of a sudden.
"Can you please come over to my place?" He asked ignoring her pleasantries.
Somaria paused immediately. Larry who hardly speak to her wants her in his place? She quickly had one thousand and one thoughts flowing through her mind.
"Hope no problem? She asked carefully.
"Yes. I'll text you the address" he said plainly.
"Ok I'll be there soon".
Larry ended the call without even saying bye.
"Tsk what an arrongant guy" she said eyeing the phone.
"Going somewhere?"
She is with Juan. She went to his office to say hi since she is on her annual leave.
"I think so" she nods.
"Hope all is well?"
"That I don't know. I'm even kinda confused" she said with the look.
"Why?" Juan gave her attention.
"This guy that called me now is one of the standoffish and most arrogant person I've ever met. She wouldn't even talk to me and now he wants me at his house? It is really weird" she said with a distant look.
"Who is the guy?"
He wore a concerned look but not a jealous one.
Somaria expected him to give a bit of attitude that should be given when a guy heard that his girl was called out buy another guy but Juan didn't and this disappointed her.
"You know Clary right?" She asked and he nod in reply. "His father".
She was careful with the way she answered so that he won't read another meaning to her words or meet an angry look.
"Why would he call you? Is the boy fine?" He asked still in his usual calm manner.
"Can't say?"
"Just be careful and make sure you beep me if anything seems strange ok".
"You are letting me go?"
She was a bit surprised that he could let her go that easily.
"Why not? You might be saving a life" he said with a serious look.
Somaria gave him a bright smile. "You are just so cool Juan. Thanks".
Her phone beeped and a text showed on her phone. She knew it was the address Larry promise to send.
"Gotta go" she stood up.
Juan walked her to her car, opened it then waved her bye.
"Just be careful" he mouthed.
Somaria nodded and smiles. Then she drove off. When she got to the house, she was let in by a maid, who led the to the sitting room. She was really scared with the way she saw Larry, that she quickly hastened to him. He rested his neck on the sofa while sighed, his legs crossed and eyes closed. She sat closer to him.
"Is everything alright?" She asked but got no reply save a grunt that she barely heard.
She decided to feel his temperature to know if he is really fine since she know him to be a very proud man but he gripped her hand tightly before it could touch his head.
"Sorry I thought you were ill" she apologized quickly.
"I'm fine" he said bluntly.
Larry didn't drop her hand, he kept on looking at her until she withdrew her hand a little. His grip on her wrist was so tight that it throb. Larry dropped her hand and she rubbed her wrist to ease the pain.
Somaria didn't want to start getting angry because she knows that he would be a gentleman even though he is arrogant. He wouldn't have called her for his selfish purpose.
It seems Larry wasn't ready to tell her the reason she was called urgently. She then decided to ask about the boy who seem to be their only business together.
