Chapter 83

Many generation had gone never seeing the dream that the war offered and generation that came were only willing to lead a history. On the top list was Mr. Ribadau as the flag bearer at the moment for the ruling party. Already over sixty political parties have registered and more would register. Some register for recognition, some to kill the zoning policy and disintegrate the ruling party patronizers, others to get their names heard, other also to make their voice heard again as dead unremembered region.
The war of words between the main political parties and minor parties became more intense; in gatherings, in rallies, in media houses and almost everywhere. Mr. Ribadau would soon step down from the legislative seat. He had long eyed the seat of the president. From many reshuffle that had been made , he was always on the top list.
On the most recent was his election to the upper house . It was a rule that he must step down before contesting for the seat. It was difficult for him though he had stood strong when he had not even accepted to contest for primaries. Bigger and tougher skulls had emerged the scene with the intention to get the seat or  to die. None of them really knew who would ascend above the other.
Absolutely, Mrs. Zack had become his and was more proud to be called so by name. That was all she needed to become a woman of the people. She had come back to the old way with everything in her possession. She was quite well protected by dozens of armed solders and meadow on bar. Her greatest problem was her new man. He complained so much about his wife’s lack of attention to his emotional sexual life. He complained about his spending on the children and her approach to things. He was old and sex should not really matter to him now. He should have changed. At least it was the main reason why he failed in his first attempt to marry her in their university days in Italy. He demanded for sex on their first out and so the young woman concluded that Ribadau was a man without self-control he had carried that life to his old age. That was bad. People change with time, but her new lover never changes.   Unlike Mr. Zack her first lover, she found Mr. Ribadau difficult to manage and could hardly say his mind.
Mr. Ribadau had shown her , his true colors the morning he walked up to her and told her openly that he had found his son Dele a fault that he could never ever accommodate. He said, the young man lacked respect and could be a spy to his brother Pius. He told his wife that he was no longer safe with them.
It was bad for the woman. Women and children from their first lover was two things one cannot do anything about. They had been bound in love, the strongest bond of all that only death could separate. Even at death, such love like candle continues without going down. To stop seeing her children was to her a very hard rule to keep. They had been family and there were still the link , the secret , the truth which still linked them. Such ban by Mr. Ribadau if not lifted could result in her not being free to meet them even in public places and with her attachment to these children , she would either resolve for something else , because she did not want them to share such a painful limitations. Never. Not even now they were old enough to care for their needs.
Everything in the house was there for her comfort, except perfect freedom. The big house was not bad of its kind. It wore the look of the most latest design. It wore also the edifice of red brick with stones and wire fencing, a sort of structure so popular in the days of the colonial masters. It had been rumored that Ribadau had one of the finest house in Africa. The ground had been shaped into the most elaborated garden for both children and adult. A little new world for everyone. The art and the beautiful design were carefully kept at place with each buzzing with finesse. For true, there was a sample of everything, ranging from fish pond, water gardens and well cut flowers. Garden of all genders surrounded it so well that they were masters over the whole garden.
In interior, the building was almost the same range of furnishing apartment. The perfect symmetry of the building and completely symmetrical plan of the ground floor was in no match elsewhere. The style of architecture was too ornate with its vertical and horizontal accuracy. A house with an atmosphere of elegant refinement and standard that could not be compared with nay house around. The external architectural style contrasted sharply with that of former age, from the seating room to the main house and then to the guest room and security quarters. The rooms were furnished in an elegant restrained style. From indoors were shining metals and glowing brass and copper to the main gate, it was the same. There was too much glitter about the place. The masses of cut flowers were too opulent and well arranged. Wow!
