Chapter 19
Seigfred Met Jethross
I
When Atty. Yhera glanced at Seigfred who is now walking to her side, she saw the narrowing eyes of him and his fierce look at Jethross. Suddenly, Atty. Yhera disengaged from the embrace of Jethross and acted like clearing her lungs.
“By the way Jethross, meet my fiancé, Seigfred; Sweety this is Jethross.” Atty. Yhera’s introduction to the two men that made Jethross face turn to ashen.
Seigfred looked at Jethross intensely while extending his right hand, offering a handshake to Jethross.
Looking at Seigfred, a little intimidated, Jethross took his offered hand and shook it gently.
Atty. Yhera broke the silence. “Jethross, nice seeing you. If you please excuse us, I am really hungry now. Let’s get inside the Burger house Sweety?” she said after giving Jethross a light nod and gently taking Seigfred’s right arm by her hand.
Seigfred nodded and then put his right arm around Atty. Yhera’s shoulders. He glanced at Jethross, giving him a quick nod before he walked inside the burger house, with Atty. Yhera on his side.
Jethross could only follow the pair with a jealous look but he could not do anything to bring back the old time between him and Atty. Yhera. Sadness enveloped his heart; a part of him felt some regrets for leaving her and cheating on her almost six years ago.
Jethross walked back to his old Toyota car. He decided to find another place to eat now at the Brother’s Burger House while seeing Atty. Yhera happily enjoying herself with her fiancé would be a big blow to his heart and ego.
Before finally leaving, Jethross glanced at the red shining Jaguar car beside his old Toyota car. Envy crept through his soul as he felt himself shrink into a tiny bit. He felt so little and lowly compared to Seigfred. Yhera deserves someone like Seigfred; someone better than him. He left the burger house’s premises with a heavy heart.
II
Seigfred has been silent as he led Atty. Yhera to a vacant seat at the left end side of the burger house. He sat on the chair besides her forgetting that the burger house is not a fine dining restaurant.
“Sweety, this is a self-service fast food chain. We need to line up at the cashier. Look.” Atty. Yhera smilingly said as she pointed to Seigfred the line of customers in front of the three cashiers.
Seigfred laughed. “Sorry, Sweety. Let me take the line there.” He stood up after getting Yhera’s order.
Atty. Yhera could not help to jiggle as she looked at his billionaire fiancé lining up, together with some other customers in front of the cashier’s counter.
Sensing that Yhera is looking at her, Seigfred turned his head and winked at her. Atty. Yhera made a thumbs-up sign and mouthed him with the word “I love you”, to which he answered back in the same manner.
At a nearby table, a TV reporter noticed the familiar face of the young billionaire businessman. He got his mobile phone, opened its camera, and took some shots of Seigfred who is now in front of the cashier, ordering for Atty. Yhera’s favorite burger and his burger.
The TV reporter never left his eyes on Seigfred until he seated himself beside a woman, whom he recognized as the young lawyer, to whom the billionaire businessman proposed marriage months ago. He smiled when once more his mobile phone’s camera clicked.
Chapter 20
The Caption
I
Seigfred and Atty. Yhera happily returned to Seigfred’s red Jaguar car after devouring their big burgers, fries and shake.
“Hah, I’m full Sweety.” Seigfred said laughing while caressing his stomach.
Atty. Yhera laughed too as she put her hand around his right arm. “Me too Sweety, I forgot my diet for tonight you know.”
“And I only paid around Seven Hundred pesos for all of those. Whoaahh, what a great deal for getting full like this.” Seigfred, still laughing, guided her hand on his arms round around his waist and then he put his right arm around her shoulders as they walked to his red Jaguar Car.
Except for a little traffic on the way, they were able to arrive at Atty. Yhera’s house, safe and happy.
Seigfred stopped the car in front of Atty. Yhera’s house and faced her. “My Sweet, it’s late but I still want you to stay for a little while here,” he whispered.
Atty. Yhera smiled and nodded. “Of course; I will gladly obey.”
Seigfred laughed and held her chin. He looked at her intensely. “Yhera, I hope that Jethross will not hug you again like that.”
“Hmm, sorry, I never expected it.” She gave him a quick kiss on his lips and looked at him dearly. “I love you Seigfred. Jethross is a past; a mere past.”
Seigfred kissed her back until their kisses became so hot that Seigfred could no longer control himself. He laid her down as he reclined her seat.
“Sweet, we cannot do this here” Atty. Yhera giggled. “The village officers usually roam around to check the safety of the homeowners here.” She added to Seigfred’s dismay.
“Sweet, can I take you home for tonight please,” He murmured with a pleading tone.
Yhera giggled more as she nodded.
“Yes!” Seigfred then merrily started the engine of his red Jaguar Car away from Atty. Yhera’s house. He heads to his nearby condominium building project, where he has his penthouse unit.
As they entered the Condominium Building, everybody from guards to the receptionist and other staff therein greeted them with a smile, admiration, and respect.
As they rode the elevator, none tried to join them. Seigfred smiled as he freely embraced Yhera and kissed her until they reached the top floor going to his Penthouse.
II
Rhoda was kicking her ass as she saw the sweet pictures of Seigfred and Yhera posted online by one of the popular TV reporters. The two were eating burgers happily. Seigfred’s eyes in the photo are the epitome of a man who is deeply and madly in love with his woman, so with Atty. Yhera; her every look on Seigfred would reveal her truest love for him. The caption then is not wrong. The caption says, “The Epitome of a Truly in love Couple.”
Rhoda threw her mobile phone on the wall, breaking it into pieces. She could not accept that the Seigfred she has been eyeing for long; she has been dreaming about and long positioned to her heart’s pedestal has been snatched so easily by that Atty. Yhera, who he just met early on.
She snuggled on her bed and grabbed her big Winnie the pooh. She hugged the stuffed toy tightly as her tears started to flood her eyes down to her bed. For a while, her head has been spinning. No one, as in no one ever cared for her. Not even her parents, who are always away, leaving her to the care of her nanny since her childhood. It was Seigfred, who gave him that care and attention when she started to become a teen until such time that Atty. Yhera arrived.
“Seigfred, you are mine, mine alone,” she hissed as she let out her cries that filled her entire room. She was in that position for a couple of minutes until she suddenly reached and opened her bedside drawer. Rhoda got a bottle of sleeping pills and almost choked when she swallowed a couple of them.
Thereafter, except for the hissing sound of the air conditioner inside Rhoda’s elegant room, nothing can be heard. The room has been enveloped with silence.
