Chapter 38

“Are we there yet?” She asked her companion.
“Not yet child, we have long to go.”
The stroll was pleasant. They passed meadows filled with small, fluffy creatures and trees filled with brightly colored birds. Jean loved whenever they went through a gem-filled bridge and would ogle at the stream below where fish of different sizes swam.
The air was peaceful, the breeze cool. The sky had just enough fluffy clouds and had a beautiful shade of blue. Periodically, a rainbow would appear between the clouds before they got blown away, scattering into tiny little cotton balls of fluffiness. She was happy here. Princess Jessamine’s kingdom was a wonderful, wonderful place.
“You said your palace was big! Are we going there?”
“My palace is big, indeed. But we are not going there today.” The Princess with her golden dress answered.
“But you said we’ll be going there.”
“True. We will be going there. But not today. Today is different. Today is for adventure!”
Jean looked up to the gliding princess with hopeful eyes.
“Is it a great adventure?”
“The best.”
“What kind of adventure?”
“One that you can only make for yourself, child.”
“I don’t think I can,” Jean said with a tinge of sadness, “adventures are dangerous and I’m still small.”
“Your size doesn’t determine if you are fit for an adventure. You only require a heart and a mind.”
Jean put her hand up and the princess took it as they walked a dirt road. Rabbits ran across it from time to time and Jean would exclaim in glee whenever one stopped, especially the small ones.
Princess Jessamine was more beautiful now, she looked more princess-y than all the times they have been together. Her golden dress flowed in the wind and was studded with sparkling gems. Jean wondered if she could have something like it.
The pair stopped when they reached an area that was sealed off by glass that stretched in both directions. It formed a border and reached the sky. There were elaborate and intricate etchings on it and had pearls and different colored gems along the bottom. Jean ran towards it to see for herself up close. It looked simple and grand at the same time.
There was a great door in the middle, one that let her see inside. She approached and peered in. Jean gasped when she spied a group of rabbits, fluffy and many-colored on the other side. The big ones were white and brown, the smaller, fluffier ones, had differently colored furs. They looked like little balls of rainbows to her.

She lifted her face from her arms when her phone beeped. It was her mom. Emmy had waiting for her to pick her up and fell asleep. Her mom was late. Again.
Classes were dismissed more than an hour ago. Emmy’s text message did not make sense. Nor did it explain why she was late. It did say she was arriving within ten minutes.
Gina looked around and noticed she was the only one left. The school classroom was empty now. She got up from the desk, checked her bag, then headed for the door.
One foot out the door and Gina froze.
Do not go out.
She heard it clearly. She wheeled around, to check who said it, even when she knew there was nobody else. It did not sound like a whisper. It was loud. Like the person who said it was in front of her. Or directly behind her.
Gina peered out, to both sides of the hallway and saw no one. She brought her phone out to see if somehow her mother called, and she answered it by accident. It was still locked. Confused, she stepped out.
Not a good day for pranks guys. Whoever you are. She thought.
Everyone in class knew she was always last to be picked up. The least was twenty minutes. Sometimes it was more than an hour. Everyone just learned that they were moving. If there was a time to prank her, it would be now.
Gina walked out towards the huge main doors. She scanned the posts on the bulletin boards as she passed by each on. Calls for auditions, reminders for meets, drama club recruitment, she did not pay attention to these before. Now that she was about to leave, Gina realized she might just miss this school.
Her best friends, Annie and Jenna were already all over it. They had her download several applications on her phone and listed many different programs to install and websites she needed to sign up to so they could chat whenever they wanted.
A guard doing his rounds, appeared on the left corridor as she neared the junction that led to the main door. Looking both ways, Gina saw janitors already cleaning the rooms and the hallways. She pushed the doors and let herself out.
Just me here. Again.
The school grounds were empty. She was the only one left, it seemed. Gina had gotten used to it. Emmy was always late in fetching her. But in the last few months, she was even more late.
This puzzled her. Her mom hasn’t always been a housewife. She used to have a proper job. When she quit it, she took online courses and did part time work from home. With their move coming, she was tying up things from her work so she could quit when they finally moved. She had less work now, and she was always home. So why was she always late?

The sight that greeted her as she walked through the door was her two daughters reading a book together in the sofa. Emmy smiled. She felt great. She could not recall why she felt great but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was she felt that way.
The children were growing up fast. Gina had started acting like an adult, started pitching in her opinions on conversations, started being bossy around her younger sister. Just the other day, Gina marched her sister up to her bedroom to clean up the scattered toys or else she would not help her learn how to write. She shook her head. After greeting them, she went up the stairs.
By the time she reached the second floor, evening had set in. Though the lights in the corridor were on, the ones inside their room were not. That was fine. There was no need to turn them on. She felt great and tonight, she meant to feel even better. She blushed just thinking about it.
Matt was already on the bed, waiting for her. His outline was barely visible in the dimness of their room. The only light the room had was the one spilling from outside. It wasn’t much, but it was enough.
She remembered the children downstairs as her clothes smoothly slid off her skin. That was fine too. She was sure they would not be coming up any time soon. She was so sure of it that Emmy did not even go to shut the door.
Release. She needed it. She had built it for days and Matt had been hinting at a hell of good time. It was unlike him to be the first to suggest a day, he always preferred to have it any time he could. Not this time. This time he whispered in her ear a week ago and had been hinting at it every day ever since. She found she rather liked the tactic. Emmy had built up quite an appetite.
She joined him in bed and ran her hands against his bare skin, caressing the contours of his muscly body. He smelled nice. It reminded her of the outdoors, of tall trees. Tall, hard trees.
Emmy touched his hair and felt the dampness. She pulled his head close and sniffed his hair. Emmy loved his scent. His body wash worked wonderfully with his shampoo when it came to the scent. She had commented the same to him before, it seemed like ages ago now, and Matt never changed brands since.
“Come here my manly man.” She coaxed, throwing her right leg over his hips and pulling him close.
She was not the only one who wanted to play. He was already naked, she knew that. As his body came closer, she noticed that he was already hard. She felt it. Raging hard.
Emmy ran her hand down, from his chest to his groin, as if to double check. She found wood. It was hard enough that she could feel its veins, straining, on the surface.
“Well, hello!” She whispered softly to him.
Her hand held firmly at the base, then loosened it just enough for her hand to glide smoothly along its length. She opted for an unpredictable rhythm. At times she would slide up quick, other times she would do so slowly.
He loved it. She could tell by the low grunts. She could also tell by the rhythm of his hips as swung back and forth to meet her strokes.
Matt wasn’t going to take it, he would also give it. She felt electricity course down from her chest and converge just below the navel as he felt her up, cupping a feel. Emmy let out a low moan when Matt squeezed. It was as if all the tension in her body left. He continued to do this as if pooling something together that they may converge to the top.
