Chapter 16 Your mom is a....

When Rhen found the records, she called for the other two who without a waste of time rush down to her.
The records were kept in an hidden place behind the library books. Immediately, they started rummaging, checking the years, till they found the records of seventeen years ago.
Fortunately, orphans that got registered that year wasn't much. Jade started going through the names and descriptions.
".... Esther Williams, Jude ???, Layla ???, Jade ???. Found it. It says 'book 104', search for book 104." Jade shouted, as they started looking for the book everywhere.
"Found it!" Mark informed, pulling out the book from the shelf and then gave it to Jade to read.
"Jade ???: Brought to Lochane orphanage on 1899 by a woman with light blue blonde hair. Giving up ownership to the government but promise to help train the child.
name of offeror: ????, State of origin:????, current resident: Visgard city, reasons for handling the child to the orphanage: fear of insecurity. Signature: ✓." Jade read, falling to the ground. "No name,no State of Origin...."
"But you have her description. Light blue blonde hair." Mark reminded, giving an encouraging smile.
"That means your mom is a Razekian!" Rhen exclaimed, stepping backward in amazement while she covers her mouth.
"I guess that explains your crazy speed....and why she had to do what she did."Mark confirmed exhaustedly.
"Now I really want to know about her, why would my dad even fall in love with a Razekian? Why didn't she inform my dad until last year? Why did she do all those things she did?" Jade questioned again, trying to think of an answer.
"Now you know of her location, let's get...." Mark couldn't finish his sentence when the building got caught up in fire.
The three quickly took to their heels, running out of the orphanage. Getting to the outside, another battle between groggs and the military was going on.
One of the groggs chased after them immediately it saw them coming out of the building. Jade couldn't run as fast as usual as he was holding on to Rhen behind.
The grogg was closing in faster than they expected, so Jade stopped.
"Keep going, I'll catch up with you." Jade said, trying to cause a distraction but before he could make a move a punch went through his face, launching him into a building.
"Nooo!" Rhen screamed seeing this and wanted to run to the direction Jade fled but Mark held her arm shaking his head in disapproval.
Jade was regaining himself when another punch came in again which made him almost lost consciousness and yet a third blow was approaching but this time a figure pulled him away.
All Jade could see was a blurry surrounding and someone putting on white overall, Sooner he fell asleep.

Rhen and Mark had gotten faraway from the location and where taking some rest at the front of a building that was still intact.
"You think he's doing fine? Cause we've been waiting here for an hour and he's not still in sight. If anything happens to him, you are to be blamed." Rhen declared angrily.
"This is not the time to get into an argument. No offense but if that grogg could kill Jade what difference would you make?" Mark replied. "This city has turned to a battlefield, maybe we can try searching for where the citizens might have been taken to."
"And why do we have to go there?"Rhen asked.
"Have you forgotten? I'm also searching for my dad. Don't worry, it won't take much time." Mark said, bringing a rectangular device from his bag.
"What's that?"
"It's a population scanner, I thought we might need one so I brought it with me. It detects where people are gathered and scarce, it also indicate their numbers."Mark stated proudly.
"What are we waiting for then? Get it rolling."Rhen said, hastily.
Mark turned on the device, it loaded and after some time it displayed some couple of dots.
"Alright, I think the citizens were taken to the north part of the city, it's not too far from here, about an hour walk would do." Mark presumed and they got moving immediately.

In a room was Jade who was lying on a bed, finally awake. He looked around, trying to remember the last occurrence before he jumped out of the bed.
"Mark and Rhen! I need to go find them." Jade exclaimed, turning to the man who was experimenting.
"You are awake?" The man putting on white overall, having light red tangling spiky hair and a robotic arm said. "whoever you are looking for might either be dead or hidden, this place has become a battlefield."
"Wait, what are you even doing here? Aren't you a Takekian?." Jade asked, walking up to the man. The man was looking through a microscope.
"At your age aren't you too rude to your saviour?" The man said, turning to Jade. "I'm obviously experimenting, two, yes I'm a Takekian which doesn't prevent one from coming to the city, does it?"
"I'm Jade, what your...." Before Jade could finish his sentence the door shut open.
"Doctor, two subjects are dead, one is a success." A man with a slight black shaved hair and full beards said, walking in.
"Sh*t! Copy all necessary information about the successful one and bring me the drug." The doctor said, walking towards the door.
"Hey, are you leaving me here?" Jade asked, seeing the man was leaving.
"Do what you want I'm busy, just don't touch anything."

Hearing this, Jade couldn't wait to leave the place, he rushed out of the room following the doctor behind.
"You've not told me your name."
"Just call me doctor."
"Doctor? Right, doctor, isn't it kinda weird that you guys are experimenting down here while war is going on?"
"Not if it's for the war."
"What do you mean?"
"See for yourself."
They got to a room and entered. Three tube were inside, filled with green liquid though two were dark green.
"And what are you doing with them?" Jade asked, staring at the tube.
"Well it's complicated but I'm trying to create an ability drug." The doctor replied, walking towards a computer on the other side of the room where his partner was.
"What? Wh...why would you do that?" Jade exclaimed, stuttering.
"I thought you wanted to go see your friend. You better do so, this place will explode anytime soon." The doctor warned as he and his partner made their way out of the room, he was holding on to a briefcase. Jade went after them.
They took an elevator, came out of the underground building at the middle of rubbles.
"Where are you guys going to?" Jade asked again.
"To the vice president office to report." The other man said.
"I want to come with you." Jade quickly informed, walking towards them.
"Hey! He saved your life and he doesn't need your 'thank you' hm, so just Fu*k off. " The man with beards shouted.
"Joe, calm down." The doctor said, walking back to Jade. "Young man, what do you think is going on? Do you think all these is a game? This is war. I want you to head north you will find the civilians safe house." The doctor said, persuading Jade.
"Do you think I came here to play games? I travelled down here to find my mother, my friend, Mark came to look for his father and you want me to go to a stupid safe house. " Jade complained angrily.
"Joe, can we take this chicken to the safehouse before going to the vice president." The doctor asked.
"Chicken?! Did you just call me a chicken?"
"Dr Bryan, I think you are going too easy on him, just fry him up, he's a chicken. " Joe said, as they turned around heading for the northern part of Visgard city.
What will be their fate?
