I could not help but keep staring at the person in front of me. He looks cuter than before, I thought. Standing sideways with his body partially resting on the door frame, his pink lips fuller. Dressed in a blue round neck, which made his abs revealing coupled with his new haircut. My eyes gaze down as I take in the nice smell of his cologne and view of his exposed legs which were hairy, making him more of a perfect body. "Checking me out? Not bad.", Joseph brought me out of my reverie as my face flushed instantly. I can't believe I was mesmerized by his look. I'm so stupid. Trying not to be obvious with my liking for him, I hissed. " Why are you here? I thought I told you not to visit my hostel", I deadpanned as he stared at me, a smirk on the corner of his lips. "Oh! You deserve an award, Mike. Is that a way to welcome a guest?", he asked as he tried to step in but I stopped him. He stopped as he suddenly held me, moving me to himself, as I stiffened. His hand went to my waist, his gaze on me. " I'm just wondering Do you like my haircut?", he asked, my brain almost freezing at our close contact. He Is have too much of an effect on me, and for a split second, I never knew how we got inside the room, not until the door closed startling me as I broke free from Joseph. "You have some flour on your head. Are you preparing something?", he asked as I frowned at how he managed to make his way inside. Chris would be so angry when he sees him. " None of your business. Can you leave? I have some things to do.", I stated. His gaze lingered as his eyes met with the open kitchen, as he made his way inside. I tried to stop him but he was fast and the kitchen was close by anyway. "Wow, your little kitchen looks stylish, tho small", he said looking at me as I kept a blunt face. " My cousin said a lot of things about you. Do you want to know? Oh! I forgot you want me to go. Then I am leaving", he said, taking steps to get out but I was quick to stop him. "What did he say about me?", I could not help but ask rather calmly, even though I still have an ounce of anger towards Ethan. He proved to be the complete opposite of what I thought about him. I thought he was a changed person that respects others but he was rather someone who likes to play with others' feelings. " You sure look complicated with those facial expressions on your face. Maybe you hate my cousin", Joseph said as I released my hand off his arm, sitting on one of the stools in the kitchen. I don't feel the vibe to complete making my peanuts. "Take a look", Joseph said, placing his phone in front of me, which shows his Whatsapp messages with Ethan. I clicked on his profile picture and I must confess he has changed into the typical bad guy. His black hair even darker, his hair in Afro style as a gold chain hung around his neck. He probably wants to impress the girls more", I thought. I can't believe he would change into such a new life, his choice', I believed. The message shows how he liked my personality, as I was his adviser back in secondary school. Not only did Joseph keep asking bad things about me but also asked a particular question that triggered my attention. ', Do you perhaps know any secrets about him?' He asked Ethan as Ethan sent a guessing emoji with Nope as a reply. " What secret of mine are you tracking on?", I asked as Joseph froze, which made him give a nervous smile as he made his way to my back. He bent down, his hot breath fanning my ear as I was again. "Something I can use against you. You seem to always be on cloud 9 with your victory reply to me whenever I teased you", his voice sounded, yet calming, building a nervous feeling at the pit of my stomach. I groaned as I put on a hair net not thinking too much about his reply, as I made my way to the basin filled with the almost well-mixed groundnuts which have his brown cover moist and light brown.
I raised the basin as I poured some flour to make it rise as it must have gummed to the basin. Shaking it again, I could not help but notice Joseph stare at me.
He moved closer, his hand behind my back as I gasped, raising my back a little. " You will keep complaining of back pain if you do not practice the right posture", he said, his hand still behind me, the basin still in my hand. "Here, let me help you", he offered to take away the basin from my hand as he placed it on the kitchen table. " Do you know how to make it", I asked as he washed his hand. "Of course, my mum is a caterer and baker. Even Tho this method you are using is not used by her because of how tedious it is, I learned everything from one of my mum's workers", he explained as I gave him a hair net which he placed on his head making him look gorgeous. " Can I take off my shirt? I'm afraid the heat might be too much since there is no electricity supply yet", he offered as I nodded even though I knew the consequences. He removed his round neck, his abs exposing through the singlet he wore, as I tried not to stare. "Try not to stare", he said, as he winked at me causing me to glare at him which he laughed at as I handed him an apron which he wore as he adjusted his hairnet. I could not help but laugh as he looked like someone being thrown in a play costume. " What? How do I look?", he asked, flashing me a smile? "Just continue or my peanuts might not form. I'm worried I kept it in a semi-formed position for so long", I said, hoping all my hard work won't go to waste. " Don't worry. I am the hero that will save the day", he reckoned as I smiled. He is naughty. No matter how I tried to distance myself, he kept coming to me which made me quite nervous inside of him. What if he becomes attracted to me?
He picked the basin as he shook them sideways as I videoed him. His moves were that of a professional which makes me wonder why he wasn't into making it. He is a rich kid, no need for stressing over money", I thought as he kept mixing the flour along with the egg white to the groundnuts. He concluded as he explained some important steps I need to take whenever I want to mix the groundnuts. The tips however will not only help in reducing back and leg pains but would also save money, time and materials.
For one congo( plastic )of groundnuts, I have to use 8 small cups of flour, one and a half cups of sugar, and six eggs to make it form perfectly. I couldn't be happier as he fried the mixed groundnuts for me, as it turned into brown and crispy peanuts. We both tasted it, satisfaction on my face. My customers will love me for these peanuts. Feeling completely exhausted, we both sat on the stool side by side as we completed the final batch of placing the peanuts in the medium-sized nylon. I kept thanking him continually as he demanded I stop, stating that he was just helping me. "How was my cousin in secondary school?", he asked as I sipped the cold sobo, quenching my thirst, the flavor savoring with the taste of the peanuts. " He shared almost the same qualities as you. Sassy, cocky, and a little bit egoistic. He is lovely too, kind, and has a good heart but sees most important things as fun", I explained as he laughed. "You keep breaking my heart. It seems you just pointed out my characteristics yourself", he pointed out " It is good you said it yourself", I replied and we both laughed. Cleaning up the little mess in the kitchen, as I removed my hair net. I turned abruptly as I hit a wall. Nope, Joseph's head literally. He held me yet again, his right hand holding my waist, as his left hand reached my head. My breath hitched at our proximity. A smile on his lips gives me goosebumps as he stares at me. As much as I wanted to free myself from his embrace, I felt glued to his body, our eyes meeting each other. ", You owe me something, Mike", his husky voice sounded, as he pouted his lips, as I swallowed a lump of saliva. " What the fuck?", I heard as I turned to see...
