Chapter 5 IV. SHA-SHA

He secretly watched what she was doing. 'There's nothing wrong with what I'm doing, I'm just watching over this stranger who is now inside my house!' he defended himself against his own thoughts as he shook his head.
He looked at her again and she was lying on his bed. Based on his estimation, she fell asleep less than a minute ago after laying down. He shook his head and smiled a little at the thought that she seemed to feel so secure in his bed.
'Woah! She fell asleep so fast, huh! She felt at home. It's a good thing though that she fell asleep because she had been very noisy at this hour.’
It's a good thing his sister didn't rush to his room because of the noise otherwise she might have seen this girl.
It was not in his plan to let her sister see him with a girl in his room in the middle of the night. That kid might think about unthinkable things. The last time he walked home with a girl, his sister thought that girl was his girlfriend. At that time, his sister acted out and became so dramatic. She acted like she'd been left alone by him.
At those times he always heard her saying things like, “You don't love me anymore! You already have someone else to take care of. Your girlfriend is your priority now.” Which was not true. The girl was not his girlfriend and no one else will be his priority other than his only family, his sister.
Also, it was not really in his plan for the two to meet. His plan was first thing in the morning tomorrow, he will get rid of the girl. It doesn't matter if he had to plead to her, drag her—if he can, the girl seemed to be very strong—or lead her astray. Anyway, as long as he can get her out of their house and his sister won’t see her.
Less than five minutes after he decided to go to sleep, he heard the sound of a guitar again that made him get up immediately. He noticed that the girl was surprised by him because she suddenly stopped playing the guitar.
He went straight in front of her and grabbed the guitar from her. "Don't use it for now. It's noisy! Go to sleep," he was annoyed. It was late at night and he was tired but she was starting to make noise again. He hasn't even taken a nap yet.
The young man put the guitar on the side of his dresser.
He was lying down on the floor of his room where he had put a blanket when he looked at her face. Even without talking, her eyes speak of sadness caused by taking the guitar from her.
He sighed looking at her.
"I'll give it to you again tomorrow," he said while gently tapping the guitar that was leaning on the dresser near the part of the floor where he was lying.
He was about to fall into a deep sleep when he heard the sound of a guitar. As he was thinking so much about her and worried that his sister might see her, he was also dreaming of the sound of her playing the guitar.
He quickly turned around when a series of knocks on the other side of his door startled his sleepy mind and tired body.
"Brother! Don't you have any plans to sleep?! You've been playing that guitar for a while now! Aarh! Let me sleep, at least!" His sister screamed in annoyance and kept knocking on his door.
He looked at the girl in his bed. She was obviously surprised because she was already hugging the guitar that she was playing. He remembered he had placed that earlier on the side of his cabinet. Her wings were also spread slightly as if she was ready to fight in case an enemy attacked her.
His sister left after she vented out her annoyance in front of his room. Probably going back to sleep.
He approached her again and took the guitar from her for the second time.
"You're so stubborn, why don’t you listen? I said don't use it. Tsk. It's a good thing Mharc didn't come inside. What if she saw you?" he told her as if she understood him. He returned to the part of the floor where he was lying earlier.
He placed the guitar beside him and glanced one last time at her who was staring at him before closing his eyes.
He opened his eyes again and looked again at her, who was still staring at the guitar. "Can't you hide your wings? It's distracting," he said, pointing to her gray wings.
She blinked a few times and then looked at her wings the young man was pointing at. She seemed to understand what he wanted to say because for a few moments, her wings suddenly disappeared as if hiding inside her back.
‘So, are those wings real? It's not a costume,' he assured himself that what he saw was all true. He was both amazed and frightened at that moment.
Recovering from the shock, he turned his back on her and went back to his sleep. Less than an hour later, he was woken up again by his sister's cry from her bedroom.
"Brother! You're so loud!"
The thought of his sister being on her way to attack him made him get up quickly and lock the door of his room. Catching his breath, he put his right hand on his forehead while the left was resting on his waist. He leaned on the door with his eyes still closed.
He was not wrong because his sister did try to open his room. Fortunately, he immediately locked the door.
"Brother!" His little sister's every scream was tinged with exasperation.
"Yes, going to sleep. Alright, go back to sleep now," he replied to his annoyed sister.
For the third time, he took the guitar again from her. And this time he gazed at her sharply. Perhaps because he was so tired and sleepy, he seemed to temporarily lose his fear of her and had the courage to look at her that way.
'She's cute.'
He subconsciously found her cute when she pouted the moment he took the guitar away from her grip.
Hugging the guitar, the young man went back to sleep. Like before, she tried to take the guitar back again. But since he was holding it to sleep, he felt what she was trying to do with it.
He slightly opened his left eye. From where he was, he glanced at the clock hanging on the wall of his room.
“4am,” he whispered when he saw the time. That's why his sister was very annoyed, it's already morning and they still haven't slept.
"Sha-Sha," the girl beside said weakly.
He moaned a little. He closed his eyes tightly with annoyance and the desire to continue his sleep.
He let go of the guitar and kicked it away. He then turned to her and pulled her closer. He prevented her from getting up again using his arms and right leg.
"Let's sleep," he said in a pleading tone. He was really tired and sleepy. While the girl under his arms and leg was earnestly staring at the guitar he had kicked earlier.
Before he fell into a deep slumber, he heard her say the word “Sha-Sha” again.
