Chapter 51
"Mom... Save me. Save me, mom... Mom!!!" A boy was drowning in a swimming pool. He was begging for help, telling his mom to save him continuously. With his utmost trying he kept his eyes open when he could see his mom talk to someone on the call, it was more as if she was arguing with someone over the call.
As he did not know swimming, he could not hold his breathing on anymore, he could see himself getting deeper in water slowly. As if sea world was going to welcome him.
Suddenly Nick opened his eyes, he felt suffocated. He could not breathe as if he was paralyzed. It took him a minute till he could breathe again. His face was pale so his eyes were fixed at the roof.
As usual, he had that nightmare again. He got up from the couch and touched the table subconsciously but then he hissed. Glaring at the table, he found a glass of wine broken into pieces and one of the pieces got into his hand. But that pain was not much in comparison to what he went through all these years.
Letting out a sigh of tiredness he lied on the couch and left his hand hurt like that. Though he was hurt, he needed to clean the cut and put ointment but he did not do such. It had become something normal for him, all he wanted was to sleep only.
The Next Morning
"Mr. Davis. I have good news for you." Nick was having his head down with his eyes closed. Hearing Kyle he looked at him.
Now, only one news could be considered as good news for him and nothing else.
Kyle quickly walked towards him. With a cheerful smile, he reported to him, "I have got the news just a while ago. Mrs. Davis... "
Mrs. Davis... Until now there was only one news every time he heard from Kyle. And that was "There was no news of her." He hoped to get news of her whereabouts but then every time he was disappointed. This time, he did not hope to hear anything anyway.
But what Kyle told him next made him shocked. "She is back, Mr. Davis."
The magazine fell from his hand as he felt a wave of unexplainable emotions surging within himself. This was something he did not expect to hear, it felt as if he heard wrong.
Seeing him silent Kyle's smile faded. Nick had that cold aura surrounding him, Kyle did not dare to say anymore. Thinking that he might not like the news Kyle bowed his head and was about to walk out when he heard Nick say, "Tell Henry, I'm going back to Los Angeles."
"Pardon?" With utter shock, his jaw dropped as he heard him.
"I am going back right now. You stay here and handle the project." Nick let him know. With a bright smile playing on his face Kyle nodded his head and then without wasting his time anymore he left.
Unnoticeably Nick's corners of his lips curled into a smile. It had been one year since the last he saw her.
He was unknown of the reason he was happy. To suppress his urge he bit his lips and curled his hand into fists, trying to calm down.
**
In a pink-colored short dress, a girl was dancing like it was the last day of her life. She was in the limelight as if the queen of tonight.
The surrounding was filled with boys and girls whom she did not even know. Busy dancing she was drowned in the music too much until a guy tried getting closer to her.
He touched her arms and she remained silent. She could say no... But she wanted to wait a little longer. The guy touched her shoulder and was dancing with her.
She had been silently watching his movements, pretending as if not minding at all. As he moved closer to her and was about to touch her waist, she made a distance immediately.
"Hey!" To ignore him completely she walked towards the exit but the guy followed her.
She was at the exit, exactly when the guy stood in front of her, blocking her way. "Hey, wait."
Taking a step back she stood still. Then she asked him, "Is anything wrong? Mister."
"I am Jason. If you don't mind, can I have your number please?"
Time was up already, she no longer wanted to stay there. She wanted to leave. She was yet to answer him when her phone started ringing. Holding it near her ear she let out, "Sorry, Mister. Maybe next time."
And without wasting any more seconds there she quickly took her exit. Getting in the car she sulked in a deep sigh. "Let's go."
"Do you want to go there back again? Are you sure? Sanaya." Clara asked her while driving.
"I am sure. Don't worry." After one year, Sanaya was going back to where she left from. She was going to meet Mrs. Elisa, who was important to her. And another person... was not he the reason she left? Now, she was back and he could not hurt her like before.
Though they had talked about it before, Clara was still worried about her. But except waiting, she could do nothing.
"If you stay here, it will be hard for you to get out again. Remember." Hearing Clara, she sounded like she heard something funny.
There was never a day when she did not want to be back to the mansion again. It surprised her that even after she left, even after knowing that she knew him cheating on her he still did not change. He was still a jerk, sometimes she felt like leaving everything behind and going far from the chaos but then she just could not do that.
Alas! Taking a sigh of remorse, she hugged Clara. "This time I'll be the one doing everything, don't worry darling."
She calmed Clara easily but deep in her heart she was anxious, those unexpected and unidentified emotions were annoying.
As she turned around she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Things were not the same as before.
With a sunny smile on her face, she walked towards the entrance hall. Just then she stopped at the place as she heard his voice. Her husband and the man she once loved took her name in a cold tone.
"Wait there."
Sanaya stood still. To talk to him, she needed to be calm. She didn't want him to think she was weak and he could treat her like he would want.
"Hello, Mr. Davis. Been a long time, we met again." With a calm voice, she shot him a calming smile.
Nick took a look at her from head to toe. She was nothing like she used to be one year ago. Back then she was a shy girl in a saree and here, she was in a short dress with a vibe like 'she could kill any guy in just one shot'. She seemed confident, calm, and cold.
In A line long sleeves off-the-shoulder black short dress, her glamour was like a shadowing storm. She had her heels in one hand and her long hair was carrying over her back.
Seeing him still gazing at her with dropped jaw, she snapped her finger in front of his eyes.
"We need to talk."
"About what?"
Nick had so many questions to ask her. Since his 'so capable men' could not find out her whereabouts there was someone else behind it, he was sure of it.
"Yesterday, it was you. That girl..."
Without wasting a single minute she asked him as if she had no idea what he was talking about. "Which girl?"
Nick showed a photo of her from yesterday night, she did not expect it though but she had her answers ready. Since she came into the tiger's cage she had to be prepared.
Yawning she stretched out her arms and then she said in a lazy tone, "I thought I'd surprise you. But seems my husband is more interested in those women out there rather than his wife. It's surprising indeed since it's been a year since you saw me."
She spared him a lazy gaze and then she walked past him, towards the staircase. Nick held her hand, she could not just choose not to answer him.
"Are you going to just pass?"
To his question, she asked him back casually. "Do you expect me to answer you now? I am really tired, I want to take a rest now. And that's all."
"You are kidding? You have been out for a whole one year and now you came back. You don't want to answer me but just...." Sanaya had no interest to listen to him. She turned around and stood in front of him.
Looking into his eyes, she let out a sigh. Then she touched his hand, making him surprised. Surprisingly, she handed him her heels that she was holding in her hands until now when she smiled at him.
"What are you doing?" Why she was giving him her shoes? He looked at her with a confused gaze.
Sanaya crossed her arms over her chest and standing at the same place she answered him. "Telling you to stop nagging. Mr. Davis, I am back. Shouldn't you be happy? Why are you being so fussy?"
What? Her tone, her words shocked him up. He could not differentiate if he heard her right or it was because of the disorder he always suf... That was not the way she used to talk to him before.
Sanaya could tell his future movements so before he would say anything she shut him up. She put her hands over his shoulders and then she said, "I will answer you tomorrow morning for sure. Right now, what your wife need is a rest. I know you might be curious to know where I have been these past months and tomorrow I will tell you everything. So right now, can I just go to my room? Please..."
He could not control himself from looking at her smokey eyes, her red lips, and her beautiful face. He lost his words and to surprise him more, she kissed his cheek.
"Look, keep looking at me. There are many things you will get to see shortly, Mr. Davis." In her genuine smile, she was hiding her intense hatred towards him... Alas! He had no idea about it.
Now Sanaya was an expert to possessing men, it did not take her much time to do the same with Nick too... He felt his heart beating faster, but even though he could not just pull himself away...
