Chapter 52

At the same place, the sun woke them up together but Nick was lying on the couch when Sanaya was on the bed.
Yawning she sat on the bed. 'This feeling...' she smiled looking towards the window. These past months she missed this feeling. Feeling of sleeping at a safe place, her own home and own place. When she got up to go towards the window, her eyes scanned the floor.
The old habit didn't leave her, she found the floor to be in a big mess. Sanaya remembered how did she make her way to the bed last night.
Bending over to get her dress, she let out a sigh... Phew!!! Suddenly her cell phone started chiming.
"Hello. Good morning, sis." Mona from the other side of the call contended.
"Cut to the chess." Getting her dress from the floor Sanaya sauntered towards the cupboard.
Mona was afraid to call her in the early morning, if it was not an emergency she would probably not do such a thing. Sanaya had mood swings, Mona knew it. Since she had been her assistant for more than six months by now.
"Ahh...The new movie... Its shooting timing had been scheduled this afternoon."
Sanaya was about to grab a dress from the cupboard but hearing Mona she halted. "What?"
Before calling Sanaya, Mona had to prepare. Sanaya was popular not only for her looks but also because of being a great actress and model. Even though she was strict, she was kind until someone would try to be superior to her. She hated it. "They apologized for arranging it suddenly. But..."
"Mona."
"Yes, sis."
"Do you think I'm very tolerant?"
"Sorry, sis. I..."
Sanaya let out a sigh and then threw her dress on the couch. "Tell them if they want to schedule it today then we are canceling the contract."
"Pardon? But..."
Cutting her Sanaya clearly announced in a frigid tone. "You have been my assistant for nearly ten months now. Why can't you handle such a small matter like this? They have canceled the shooting two times already. Do they think it's funny? If you cannot handle these such small things then resign from your position." With that, she cut the call and tossed her phone on the couch.
Letting out a sigh she sat on the settee. This lifestyle was not what she ever dreamt of... Phew! How fast her life changed. From someone's wife, she became an ideal woman in men's eyes now.
In these past months she worked so hard, she relentlessly did all the shooting and accepted all the offers she got. Whenever she was tired, she remembered she had to be someone her husband would start regretting his wrongdoings towards her once he would see her...
'Sometimes my heart wants me to be the girl I was before but my head... It no longer wants to be stupid...'
**
All the maids were standing in a row. The breakfast table was filled with dishes, and Nick was sitting still. He peered at his wristwatch once again and sighed.
"Mr. Davis, should I go and..." He glared at the servant who was strutting just down the stairs.
At least five minutes passed since he had been waiting for her but she did not appear yet. Did she forget he hated waiting? He decided he'd wait one more minute.
"Good morning, Mr. Davis." Hearing her voice everybody's eyes went on Sanaya who was walking down the stairs. The way a girl walks around her home when she's alone, Sanaya did not care to do that.
She stepped to the breakfast table and took a seat in the middle, skipping the seat she used to have before she left.
"You guys can go and do your works." Sanaya glowed at them and then looked at Nick and shot him a sunny smile.
Weirdly enough, he did not pass even a single comment about her dressing-up style as she thought. He started eating like a family member who started digging in as another family member appeared on the breakfast table at times.
'Is he ok with me wearing this baggy t-shirt and this oversized pant? Did I wear this for nothing?' Seeing him not giving her a glance she looked around. As if they were at some restaurant and he reserved it.
Strange! But nevermind. Sanaya peeked at the food and then at him. Since a year passed Sanaya collected all the information about him that she was unknown If before. And among those things, his 'hating unfashionable people' was another matter. She wondered why didn't he show his anger!!!
"Let's talk once you are done," Nick told her in a serious tone.
Sanaya looked up and shot him a confused gaze, "Ahh, about what?"
"About you." He answered and got up. Sanaya bobbed her head.
After breakfast, both of them sat opposite each other, they were looking at each other. As if they were playing 'look at me how long you can!'
To break the silence, Sanaya questioned him. "Say, what is it."
She expected him to ask her many questions but not the one he asked actually. Sanaya looked at him with confusion as he asked her, "Who's the guy you are currently seeing?"
"Sorry?"
"Tell me honestly, who is the guy for whom you have been running away these past months! I want to know all the details about him." He added.
It was understandable since he had been flirting around with women, why would he be concerned about her? But still...
Sanaya was really in imagination. She hoped him to be concerned about her at the least but here he was just being...
Her silence was making him more restless. He whacked on the table and the sudden sound hit her ears.
He asked her again, "Tell me who is he!"
Now, all she could do was smile sarcastically. Sanaya didn't find the need to answer him. She got up to the couch and let out, "Is that all you have to say? If so then..."
Sanaya was about to go towards the staircase but suddenly he clutched her hand. She surprisingly glared at him, Nick had that cold eyes towards her. He grabbed her arms not so tightly and declared, "Enough is enough, Sanaya! You can't leave without answering me today. I want to know who he is and...."
"What made you think that I have a boyfriend?"
"What?"
Sanaya moved closer to him and looked into his eyes. Was that what he thought of her? What did he want to prove by doing that? She told him her knowing about his cheating when she left, how could he just pretend as if he did nothing wrong...
"Are you trying to make a fool of me again? May I ask Mr. Davis, is it funny to make me look like a stupid?" As she asked him so he loosened his arms and uttered, "What are you talking about?"
"I? Don't you know? Stop pretending like a good person because the real you is sickening, you know?" She grabbed his hands and wiggled them away like he had no right on her.
"What?" He pronounced in incredulity.
Sanaya strode some inches away and took a deep sigh. Was he trying to blame her? Has he such a downgraded person?
"Let me tell you something today, I am very happy for what I am right now. You never deserve to be my husband, Mr. Davis. You are just..." She curled her hands into fists. Didn't he hurt her enough? And yet he still had no regression?
Taking a long sigh Sanaya tried to stay calm. She no longer wanted to argue with him since he was not regretting anything and instead was blaming her.
'I am done with him...' Sanaya strolled towards the stairs.
"Where are you going?" But he clasped her hand again.
Sanaya stared at his hand and let out a chuckle. "Move your hands off me."
"What?"
"I said move your hand off me." She looked at him coldly but she whistled so angrily.
Nick didn't listen to her. He instead grabbed her other arm. "These past months someone was with you who was hiding you constantly. That night too, it was you. There are many things you must explain to me as you are my wife. Don't forget you are Mrs. Davis. Being my wife, you don't get the right to..."
"Then why don't we get divorced?" She didn't suggest it but she confided him as if she would sign it any minute if she was to...
Nick stood still, he was in concussion. He didn't think to that level and he had no plan of thinking so. "Are you out of your mind?" Seeing how she was talking he lost his temper.
"If you forgot what did you do one year ago then let me remind you. You have chea..." Sanaya was about to complete her sentence but suddenly Mrs. Elisa reached there.
She impeded her, "Little Nick, I have something to say."
Nick glared at Mrs. Elisa and then back to Sanaya. What was she about to say? Why she was acting so contentious?
Seeing Mrs. Elisa, Sanaya grinned and said, "Don't forget what I said. We can be separated if...."
But cutting her off Nick announced a bit loudly, "Mrs. Elisa, I will listen to you later." With a nod, Mrs. Elisa bowed her head and then left. Nick glanced at Sanaya coldly, she was not in her right mind. She was just saying whatever...
"I had given you a chance until now. But you didn't let me know anything, don't forget who am I. Even if you don't tell me I'll find out everything." He let her know and then he spun to walk away but he was stopped hearing her words.
"You will find out everything soon anyway." He heard her saying so. What... As he turned around he saw her walking towards her room.
One year, they did not see each other. His condition was getting worsen up day by day. He did everything he could to find her but he never thought that after coming back she would behave this way with him. Divorce? Nah, it was not on his list.
Having a person staying by his side was like 'catching a star' now. He didn't want it but his heart wanted so...
He was still continuously having the same dream again and again. Maybe not a bad dream but a nightmare... He didn't know what he could call it as... His life was becoming a living hell now... Torture, pain, and sufferings were all he could give someone now, but her behaving that way with him was making his heartache for some unknown reason...
'What did she mean by I will find out...' He was thinking so when his phone started ringing....
The caller was....

Since when I was teen, I seldom imagine myself being the person referred from the book or novels I have read, and somehow dreamt of having it happen in my life.😍
