“Sit here.” Striding a chair for her, Nick giggled at Sanaya while staring at her affectionately. She could feel something dubious in the air. Why was he acting like a sweet and caring husband all of a sudden? His eyes were gleaming. Sanaya glimmered back at him cheekily, “No, I am ok.” She confessed instead of sitting but Nick didn’t intend to let go. He grabbed her shoulder and contended, “Don’t move.” And nudged her to the chair.
Chefs, maids all were standing in a row when Nick by his own hand was serving food. Sanaya could not be more astonished. She was observing him with total confusion.
“Say ahh…” He even held a spoonful of food before her mouth, far more he was even continuously smiling at her for no damn good reason.
Getting up to the chair Sanaya quickly turned to leave saying, “I am not hungry. I want to go back to my room…” she barely took a step ahead.
“You don’t like me being nice, do you?” Nick suddenly grabbed her tummy and Sanaya looked at her tummy with utter shock. She muttered in a low voice, “Hey, you know you should not touch a woman’s…”
Sanaya’s words stuck between her throat and her eyes widened as he pulled her backward abruptly. “What are you doing?”
“Open your mouth.” He held a spoonful of food before her mouth again.
Nick by his own hand was feeding her. All she had to do was to open her mouth. After dinner, Nick took her in his arms and walked towards the staircase. “Where are you taking me to?”
“To our room.” He answered her.
“Amader(our)?”
“What?”
“No, nothing.” She grinned at him cheekily.
Seeing he would really take her to the room, Sanaya screamed out, “I have something important to do, put me down.”
“huh?”
“Put me down first.” As soon as he put her down, Sanaya turned him around immediately, “You go first…”
“And you?”
“Ahh, I will be back soon.” With that, she waited till he walked upstairs.
Sanaya kept smiling at him when he suddenly turned around and announced in a little louder voice, “I will wait for you.” And then he left, Sanaya quickly ran to Mrs. Elisa and asserted, “What’s wrong with him? Why is he acting weird all of a sudden?”
“I don’t know either. He… he was doing fine earlier…” Mrs. Elisa seemed confused just like her. Letting out a sigh Sanaya sauntered upstairs all confused and kind of lost.
Something was surely wrong with him, she just had to find out the reason. Sanaya decided to go to her room avoiding him. After all, he set her free after all day.
On her tiptoes, she managed to get in her room, and then closing the door she jumped on the bed, geez it was so peaceful.
“This feels so good.” As soon as her body touched the bed, she felt so sleepy. It didn't take much time till she fell asleep. Suddenly some familiar words echoed in her ears, “I will wait for you…”
Right, how could she forget about him!
Immediately she ran out of her room and entered Nick’s room. He was sitting on one side of the bed. With an infectious smile, he looked at her.
“You didn’t sleep yet…” she mumbled.
“I was waiting for you.” For the first ever, she probably heard what she wanted to hear from him a year ago. Should she be happy about that? She didn’t know…
Pointing one finger towards her, he asserted in a soft tone, “Come here.” Sanaya was not sure how long she had slept but surely, nearly two hours passed. It was surprising to see him still waiting for her when he could just go to sleep without waiting for her regardless of the time.
“You should have fallen asleep, you might be tired.” walking towards him she questioned him.
She saw him trying not to yawn, his eyes seemed sleepy and he seemed tired but he was hiding it. “Oh, actually I am not sleepy yet. I am not that tired.”
As she walked to the bed he pulled her by her hand, making her lay on the bed and he slept next to her. He turned his head towards her and smiled at her. That smile again, it was giving her a weird feeling, though she didn’t know why.
“Close your eyes,” he said in a low voice.
Like a good girl, she closed her eyes, and he moved her closer. Sanaya was about to open her eyes, but he murmured, “Don’t open your eyes.”
Sanaya held onto her breath as Nick slowly put his hand on her tummy. Though she had her eyes closed, she could feel she had her head resting on his arm. ‘Don’t you move your hand up!’ She whimpered in her heart while grabbing the blanket tight. Every second his hand was moving up a little bit by bit she was grabbing the blanket tighter, getting nervous.
‘What is he planning to do?’ She was having all those kinds of thoughts but then he stopped. Feeling his hand not to move anymore but stuck between the upper part of her body and her lower abdomen, she asserted in a nervous tone. “Nick, what are you..”
Getting no response from him, she shot her eyes open. “He already fell asleep? This soon?” but she was surprised to see him already asleep.
Thinking he had already fallen asleep, sanaya tried getting up from the bed by touching his hand that had marked its territory on her tummy but instead of succeeding in moving away, he pulled her closer by grabbing her waist tight towards him.
Lying on the bed more shocked as she glared at sleepy Nick, she saw him smiling and then he said, “Don’t even think of going anywhere. If you do that then I might put my hand somewhere…else.” With that, he opened his eyes and glared at her. Damn even at that moment he looked so handsome. Sanaya felt her heart pounding at the way he was glaring at her, his gaze was filled with a little temptation and a little teasing.
She couldn’t dare to not listen to him. “I won’t… won’t go anywhere.”
“Good girl.” Nick kissed her forehead and moved back to his place.
‘Just a peck on the forehead? Am I his pet? I thought he was gonna do something more like how can he just give me a forehead kiss! I am, his sexy and beautiful wife is sleeping next to him and he doesn’t even… What the f***!’ sanaya glared at him with annoyance when he was deep in his sleep.
The next morning
Nick found him sleeping on the bed all alone, sanaya was not there anymore. Getting panicked he quickly searched her in the bathroom but as he couldn’t find her, he ran to her room.
“Sis, you have got the highest vote. You will surely get this award.” Mona was screaming out in excitement as she was happier than sanaya herself.
Putting on lipstick, Sanaya glared at the mirror and asserted, “You sound excited. But we can’t tell yet, who’s my opponent?”
“Tuna is not even close to you. So that’s to say, you don’t have an opponent. The voting time has already stopped, there’s no way someone else is getting this golden award until...”
“Until what?” sanaya went to open the door as Nick knocked.
“until they play partiality.”
Sanaya looked at Nick who was standing outside of the door. Without saying anything at all, he hugged her unexpectedly. She was stunned. “K got it then I will talk to you later.”
In his tight hug, she couldn’t even move. Why in the early morning, coming out of nowhere he was hugging her? Not like she asked for it or he…
Glaring at her with concern he asked her, “Are you hurt anywhere?”
That question again. She remembered he asked her that same question another day too. But this time she really saw how concerned he was as his eyes were saying it all
Seeing sanaya stay quiet he asked her again, “You are silent means I have done it right? I have hurt you, right? I…” he suddenly grabbed his hair and looked very sad.
“What’s wrong with you?”
As she asked him he blinked his eyes. “Nothing, it's nothing…”
“Why do I feel like you are hiding something from me then?” sanaya abruptly wandered towards him, making him stroll back.
Nick nodded his head in denial and before she could follow him, he left from there. Getting in his room he locked the door from inside.
