“Sis, are you sure you can hold on? You don’t seem ok at all.” Mona asked Sanaya in a worried voice. Sanaya just nodded her head while keeping her eyes closed.
“Then if you feel sick tell me right away.”
Sanaya took a deep sigh, she was not ok indeed. But this event was important for her, how could she miss it! She was trying to hold it on a bit more as they were doing her make-up.
‘Fifteen minutes left to start the event, I… I can hold it on.’ Having her fists tight on her thighs she told herself.
The make-up artist: “Do you think she is ok?”
Mona: “I think she is bearing it.”
The make-up artist: “What should we do? I also think she is not feeling well. Though I have done her make-up but I am worried what if she…”
Mona: “I am also worried. What if something goes wrong later and…”
“You guys talk too much, so loud. I have already said that I am ok, didn’t I? If you two are done here then go and check it out there. Go.” Sanaya let out a sigh of annoyance and rubbed her forehead casually.
“But sis…” Mona was cut off as Sanaya blurted out, “Should I say that again?”
“No, we will go now.” Mona and the make-up artist walked away to leave when Sanaya coughed a little. Her body was burning inside. Resting her head on her hand she inhaled some fresh air. She did not want anybody to worry about her, so she decided to go back as soon as the award ceremony was done.
‘A little more. I can do this.’ She mumbled. If not for the sake of the award ceremony she could take a rest but…
“Darn! What is she doing here?” Sanaya heard Mona to assert so but she couldn’t bring herself to lift her head as she was not feeling good. She was feeling so sickening, her body temperature was not degrading at all but as if it was increasing.
“The award ceremony will start thirty minutes late. Until then Miss Tuna will be resting here.” Tuna’s assistant, Hailey declared.
Mona gaped at Sanaya as she felt bad, “What? Thirty minutes late?” as if bad things were really in need of happening today!
“Aiya, did they forget to inform you? That’s so sad.” Seeing how Hailey was laughing at her, Mona felt anger rushing through her veins.
They were never gonna change anyway.
Mona quickly stood before Tuna while straightening her arms as Tuna stepped forward. “How dare an assistant like you get in my way! Didn’t your sis Sanaya teach you how to behave today?”
Tuna had hated Sanaya from the very first time until now, so she did not like Mona either. Hearing Tuna, Mona gritted her teeth and said, “This is sis Sanaya's place, you are not allowed to enter. The one who is not behaving is you.”
“What? You, a mere assistant, dare to insult me! How dare you!”
“I just told the truth. I know what you are trying to do. Please leave sis Sanaya alone.” As Mona uttered those words Tuna clenched her fists. She took a look at sanaya and then raised her hand to slap Mona, “Guess I will have to teach you a lesson since your sis Sanaya neglected doing it.”
When Hailey seemed to enjoy it, the make-up artist felt bad for Mona. Was she going to get hit by that salty fish now? This was bad.
“Now, she will know her position. Dare to fight with Tuna? Huh!” Hailey smiled devilishly, looking forward to the slap.
Just when she was about to slap Mona, Sanaya stood before her and grabbed Tuna’s hand. “It’s ok. Let her sit anywhere she wants.”
For a moment, both of their eyes met and then rounding her eyes Tuna walked past Sanaya when Mona asked worriedly, “Sis, are you ok?”
“Don’t worry.”
Turning around as Sanaya was about to go to her chair she saw Tuna sitting on her chair. Sanaya was bearing it somehow so she wanted to avoid fighting now, she knew Tuna was up to something. No need to pay attention to someone like her!
There was still ten minutes left for the event to begin, Sanaya was burning inside. Her fever decreased maybe as she took a pill some time ago but strangely her body was aching.
“Yes, Mr. Kyle.” Tuna’s loud voice got in her ears as she wanted the people in the room to know she was talking to someone over the phone.
“I got it, thank you so much. I am so honored…”
Sanaya turned her head to her left as Tuna was being too loud but suddenly what she said caught her attention. She was not thinking too much, was she?
“But when will Nick come? He is not here yet, he promised me that he would be here.” More like Tuna was showing off. Mona and the make-up artist looked at her with a ridiculous gaze when Sanaya couldn’t stop thinking which seemed like overthinking a while ago.
‘Kyle, Nick… Am I thinking too much? But why would he call her… was it just a coincidence then?’
Sanaya quickly looked away as she saw Tuna gape at her.
Tuna had a sinister smile playing on her face more like she was feeling proud. She walked past Sanaya when going to the washroom.
‘Maybe I was thinking too much. Why would Nick…’ She thought so. As her head was spinning, she rubbed her forehead and letting out a sigh she looked at the screen of her cell phone. Right, Nick did not call her not even once, it had been two days since they did not meet. As sanaya had been busy shooting but Nick not showing his persistent self was kinda surprising.
“Sis, it’s time. We need to go.” Mona reported.
Sanaya seemed pale and sick, but trying to hide it, she stood on her legs and took a deep sigh. Finally, the time has come. “Give me another pill.” Hearing her Mona quickly asserted, “Sis, are you really ok? We can…”
“We can’t…” She coughed a little while saying so.
When they were leaving the room the salty fish reached there. She gaped at sanaya and said, “Aiya, I am having a feeling that someone’s hard work will go in vain tonight.”
“Who is it?” Hailey strolled to Tuna quickly. She seemed super excited.
Sanaya thought of giving no ears to her words though but then the words from her mouth came out… “It’s someone who’s not only shameless but mannerless too. I am really feeling bad for her. It’s so sad to see…”
“Mona, let’s go.” Sanaya asserted so while walking away. But it did not change much.
“Really? Who’s it? Is she someone we know?” Tuna smiled at Hailey and replied, “Maybe we don’t… But do you know the shameless girl who once tried to seduce my man but failed to do so? That’s her. Oh, I have heard that she even joined his company, but she was kicked out soon as everybody got to know she was a b*tch! She probably thought that Nick was an easy prey but…”
Sanaya clenched her fists as she heard Tuna, she knew whom Tuna was talking about. Along with Mona and the make-up artist, even Hailey had no idea of whom she was talking about. Hailey was her assistant but she knew that Tuna never got a chance with Nicholas.
When Tuna was waiting for Sanaya to react, she was just wanting to insult her and piss her more, even Mona could feel Sanaya was very angry but Sanaya did not even react. She just walked out of the room and Mona quickly followed her. Tuna clenched her fists and gaped at her departure as her plan failed.
The award ceremony started, all the guests were seated on their specific seats.
Sanaya was seated on the chair, counting how many seconds she had to endure and not faint on the ground. There were many people looking forward to tonight's winner. Well, the winner was already known to everyone though.
As Sanaya's eyes suddenly got on Tuna, she was a little surprised. Unlike every other time she did not seem to be sad at all, strange!
“Ladies and gentlemen, now let’s welcome Mr. Nicholas Davis on the stage, the most handsome and hottest businessman…” Sanaya's focus turned to the direction the anchor just announced it. No, there was no other Nicholas Davis in the world. So, he really came. Suddenly Sanaya started getting nervous, even when she was sick she was nervous now. Him warning her not to stay in the entertainment industry anymore, she could still hear those words echoing in her ears. Gulping she kept her fists clenched and waiting to see her husband to appear on the stage.
