Chapter 62

"Mrs. Davis..." Aiden was surprised to see Sanaya to reach there so soon. She was still sweating, as if she ran too fast. Behind her Mona was tryna follow her.
Sanaya took a deep breath while looking around her, checking the surroundings.
"Where is he?" She asked Aiden.
"Please come with me. Mr. Davis will be done soon, until then…"
Sanaya had no time to hear his explanation. All she wanted was to see him fine. On the way when she was already freaking worried that something was surely gonna happen, she got a message from a mysterious person.
"Someone is going to pay for what they don't know that they never did." A weird message.
Cutting Aiden off Sanaya implored in a speed, "Room number, tell me the room number."
"Mr. Davis said, you have to wait. Please…"
Aiden let Nick know about her coming here and he was supposed to do as Nick ordered him to do but… she couldn't just wait.
"I can't wait so tell me what room he is in." She shot him a cold glare.
Aiden was in a tough position. He did want to do what Nick ordered him to do but also he knew he would just screw it up. As she was not trying to understand it at all, Aiden quickly called Nick.
But unfortunately he did not pick it up.
"Aiden, if you don't want to tell me the room number then leave it." With that as she was running towards the reception Aiden quickly asserted, a little louder than usual. "He is in room no. 1308…"
Sanaya turned and started running, running as fast as she could. This was weird, she was continuously feeling uneasy. Was she sick? Having a heart problem?
It took her five minutes to reach her destination. Everywhere her eyes went, she could see only herself and nobody else, just like a desolate area. While taking every single step she kept mumbling the room number.
She was about to knock at the door but just then she stopped. Right, she came running so far, and now she was not even going to keep her ego and check his safety first. She felt like she should not knock but the message from a while ago couldn't be taken lightly either.
Taking a deep breath she encouraged herself and then knocked at the door. By the time Nick did not open the door she was thinking too much. She was losing her patience and she kept knocking continuously now.
Strange! He was supposed to open the door. Sanaya gaped at the message and then at the door. Touching her chest she was about to knock harder this time. "Open the door! Nick, open the door!"
Suddenly the door shot open. Sanaya gaped at him with astonishment in her eyes. There was blood on Nick's face slightly and his shirt was stained with blood when his shirt was slightly torn apart.
"..." She couldn't speak up but was observing him carefully. Nick was about to say something but she walked towards him. She touched his face, his shirt and exactly near the blood stain. "Why are you hurt? What happened…" Nick could see her worried. Those tears in her eyes were because of him? No, he never wanted her to cry.
"It's nothing. I am absolutely ok." He tried to hide his wound.
Sanaya tried walking in the room but he stopped her. Stretching his arms he made a barrier so she couldn't get in.
"No, you are not. Don't lie."
As she said so Nick touched her hand and blurted out, "I am not lying. I'm really ok." She felt he was having problems breathing. His face couldn't lie. She could see it through.
"I'm here. What are you lying for? Do you think I'll believe it?" Sanaya extended her hand towards him to unbutton his shirt, he was surely wounded but he held her hand. There was no way she could see his wound.
"You… What are you doing?"
Hearing him she grabbed his hand by her other hand and asserted, "Checking your wound, of course. Let me check it and…"
"No, you can't."
"Why can't I?"
"Because…. Because you are a woman." Nick blurted out so.
Sanaya was really surprised to hear him, he was being funny now. "Mr. Davis, did you forget that you have a wife?"
"No, I didn't."
"Then how dare you say that I can't touch you because I am a woman! Let me tell you, I not only can touch you but do more than that. Now, if you try to stop me again, I am telling you… You better not! So don't even try." Sanaya's words were indeed daring but he still did not let go. Instead he tried pushing her out of his room, "I have an important thing to do first. You can't stay here. I'll tell Aiden to…"
'I don't have another way but I have to do this. Don't blame me later.' Having no way to get in the room Sanaya suddenly touched on the part where he was hurt and Nick hissed and let her hand go. Sanaya quickly got in the room and then looked at his wound, he had his hand pressed against it when his face looked like he was somehow bearing the pain.
Nick just noticed that she was already in, now this was more troublesome. Though he wanted to stop her, he was already too late to do so. Sanaya put her hand over her mouth when she saw there were broken pieces of glasses all over the floor along with papers here and there, she could see some photos on the wall too.
Exactly the photos she got from someone before she left. She was yet to get more clues but then her eyes caught on the blood on the floor, there were clothes stained with blood too.
Sanaya no longer needed to find out what might have happened, though she did not know what could be the reason but she was sure that he hurt himself but she could not understand something, why would he hurt himself. It did not make any sense, she was unable to think of a relation between everything in the room she could see. Turning to Nick she took a deep breath and asked him, "Have you gone mad? What did you do to yourself?"
Seeing him to stay quiet she got more angry. Damn it. Grabbing his hand she asked him again, "You don't have the guts to answer me? Must you stay quiet?... Nick!"
He heard her, her voice could tell she was both worried and out of patience to wait for his answer. "I am sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry for what? You are this hurt, what are you sorry for? Do you even know what you are doing? How could you…" Touching his face Sanaya gaped at the broken pieces of glasses on the floor. She couldn't even think about how he did it. She was scared.
"Sorry, I made you worried, I made you cry. I just wanted to find out… find out what I did that year… I can't remember how I cheated on you, you said I did it so I wanted to find out but ...." She heard him.
He was stupid. He was so stupid. How could he hurt himself just because of that? Sanaya could not stay silent, she was losing her mind.
"... Are you a stupid?"
"Might be… Or why would I hurt my wife…"
Sanaya turned around to hide her tears. She never even thought he could feel this way. All she thought was him hurting her and never repenting, how she was a stupid…
"Sanaya, I am sorry. I might be a jerk, I have hurt you. I'm sorry." Nick walked towards her while saying so.
Why must things be like this? She never wanted it to be this way! Never. As he held her hand from behind, seeing how she might be angry at him that she did not even want to talk to him, Sanaya covered her mouth with her hand. She could not stop tears welling up in her eyes.
"Sanaya." Nick quickly pulled her towards him as he saw her cry. "I know I have hurted you and I promise I will never do that again, please don't cry. Sanaya…"
As he touched her face Sanaya looked up at him. She could see him concerned about her. "Don't cry ok? Please don't cry, I promise I will…"
He could not complete his words but suddenly she kissed him. Nick gaped at her as he was surprised by her sudden move.
Sanaya smiled at him while looking at him. Brushing her thumb against his face she proclaimed, "Don't hurt yourself for me. Don't do this ever again. Get it?"
Nick nodded his head but deep down, he knew the truth. He did not want to upset her more.
Wiping off her tears Sanaya held his hand tight, now she wasn't gonna let him go again. This time she could tell that for him, she was important.
"Let's go to the hospital."
As she said so he stopped her, "We can't."
Sanaya did not ask him anymore and started looking for the first aid kit. "Sit here. I will be back with the first aid kit."
She was bandaging his wound, seeing how he hurt his body just to find out whether he cheated on her or not. She felt like a sinner. Something she felt off though, she felt as if there were more that she did not know.
"Does it hurt?" She asked.
"No." He answered. Nick kept looking at her, her expression, her tears, her trying to hold onto her tears and her being so worried about him, he was not so happy and also a little happy because he could see her, she was close to him. Every time she was close to him, he would feel better.
When she was about to get up suddenly he held her hand. "Are you leaving?"
"We can't stay here. Let's go back home."
'Our home' how he wished to hear her say that.
As Sanaya extended her hand towards him Nick grabbed her hand and straightened both palms. She was astonished but then she saw him intertwining his hands with hers.
Getting up he looked into her eyes, "About what you said earlier, I won't hurt myself again. I will take care of myself, not make you worried again. Can you… can you stay with me?"
"... I am with you right now."
"No, I'm not talking about only now. I mean always, stay with me till I stop breathing. Can you?"
Sanaya was a little confused why he was talking like that. "Why would you stop breathing? Stop…"
"I am serious." She took a step backward, seeing him move closer but he touched her waist. Pulling her closer he implored, "Sanaya, will you stay with me till my last day? I want to see you by my side until my very last breath."
"Are you crazy? What the hell are you mumbling? What last breath... stop it!" She blurted out furiously. He was talking like a weirdo. She could not keep calm.
But neither his voice nor his eyes could lie. She could see how serious he was. "Let me tell you, you better stay alive till my last breath. If you dare hurt yourself again, I… I will beat you up till you… Till you cry! You got it? And let me tell you, from now on I will keep an eye on you. If you think you can run somewhere… then you can't. You hear me?" Sanaya's voice softened when she saw him smile. That smile when someone is in pain but still smiles.
Nick smiled at her and said, "Let's go. I am hungry." And Sanaya nodded her head. They were walking towards the elevator while their fingers were intertwined...

Since when I was teen, I seldom imagine myself being the person referred from the book or novels I have read, and somehow dreamt of having it happen in my life.😍
