Chapter 69

She stopped walking as he wanted to say something. "I called you here not only because I wanted to talk about work but I... I have something to say. You said you would marry me after you come back to India... I am still waiting for you."
And there he was. Coming back to the right track.
"I didn't say it was you... Don't wait for me." Saying so she stepped towards the door. She no longer wanted to talk to him.
It has been long, she had even forgotten about him. She never thought she would hear him say he was still waiting for her.
"Sanaya..."
Whirling her head towards him Sanaya stopped at her feet. "I thought you might have got married already by now. I didn't get to tell you personally before but now I want to say that marry a good girl who loves you."
"I can't... I want to marry you, it can't be someone else." He sauntered towards her, he sounded hurt.
"You know that's not possible. From the first time we met, I never liked you. I thought by the time you would understand it but ..."
"I have always loved you. I can't marry someone else, Sanaya."
She could leave his cabin without explaining anymore or talking to him but she felt like she could be honest with him.
"... "
Virat never seemed pathetic or the type of guy who could fight for her. He never did anything against his family's will. But he wouldn't probably act this way for his family, she wondered what was wrong with him. As a friend maybe she could help him. Sanaya felt a little bad as she left that time without talking to him, maybe she should have told him that she was leaving and he should have married someone else.
Seeing her stand quiet Virat took a step ahead and announced, "After you left, I tried searching for you. I kept looking for you but... I couldn't find you until... Sanaya, you have lived your life the way you wanted to. Isn't it enough? Let's go back to our country and get married. We can...."
Enough? She was not so surprised though. She didn't expect him to be different anyway.
Sanaya suddenly interrupted him. "I love someone."
"What..."
"I love someone and I am happy with him."
"It's ok. You will forget him after you get married to me. Everything will be...."
Though she felt bad as she should have told him that she was leaving but after hearing him, she felt there was no need. What? Falling for him after marriage and leaving whom she loved now?
Sanaya couldn't help but keep calm. "Virat."
"Yes."
"Thanks for thinking of me but... I don't need your help. Thank you again. I hope we never meet again. Goodbye." With that as she touched the door suddenly Virat held her hand from behind. Getting angry she glared at him.
"What are you doing?"
"Who's the guy you said you love? Tell me his name. I don't care to get rid of him."
"What? Get rid of him? Have you lost your mind?"
She didn't think she would see this side of him too. Wow. Grandpa's dear guy.
But Virat didn't seem to regret what he just said. As if what he said was right. He kept holding her hand while talking like a proud man. That's what she hated most, he was just like her grandpa. Always throwing their decisions on a girl and thinking they were supposed to do nothing but do as they were told to. But Virat did not know that she was no longer that weak Sanaya.
"See Sanaya, I know these things happen at this time. I mean I saw models and actresses get in scandals at a time like this but trust me after some time you will get fed up. You will want to break up with him and get married to a perfect guy like me. So ain't I will be a better choice?"
Sanaya was calmly hearing him, she was trying her best to control her resentment. How could a person think that way? Wow, she never met someone like him before. A perfect guy like him? Nah, she wondered what was his definition of a perfect guy in his dictionary.
"Let go of my hand."
"Are you going back with me to India?"
"I said let go of my hand."
Sounding like a furious bull she kept her fists clenched. Though he looked so gentlemanly outside his character was really... Unbelievable.
"If you want I can let you..."
She couldn't hold onto anymore. Pulling her hand Sanaya kicked on his legs and let out a sigh. He ended up falling to the floor. She was grimacing. How dare he...
"Sanaya...." Though he was angry inside, he hid it nicely and got up from the floor.
Sanaya took a deep breath to keep calm. She had no intention to fight with him anyway. But what he said... He shouldn't have said it.
"How dare you touch my hand huh? And what did you say? Get rid of my boyfriend? Let's hear how will you get rid of him."
"Give him some money or give him chance in new movies, he will leave you. That's how it works."
"Why did grandpa think of you so highly? Does he know your IQ is..."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean nothing. Now bye."
"Wait, Sanaya."
"Don't call me as if you know me. Until now I was being nice because I thought you were good, do not try to cross your limit by voicing nonsense. And what did you say to get rid of my boyfriend? I guess you see too many movies or you are... Anyway, I don't know about you but I know my man. If he gets to know you are being clingy to me like this then he will kill you and I mean it." Sanaya's hand gesture was as if her boyfriend was a gangsta.
She left before his eyes and he couldn't stop her. Until now, he was confident that he would take her back to India soon. The Sanaya he knew from two years ago was that easy to make a fool of in his opinion. He thought once he would scare her she would think about the safety of her boyfriend and leave him but it was all the opposite. Strange!
Incensed, Virat whack his hand on the table. He bared his teeth and blurted out furiously, "Since the first day you were so drama queen. You needed freedom, why do you need freedom when you are a girl? Marry a guy and bear children for him, look after your husband and his family but you chose to run away. Such a shame you are to your family, if not because of... Anyway since you are this arrogant. You ran away from home so you wouldn't get married to me right? So sad baby, you will have to marry me. That time I was easy on you because I thought you would marry me but since you dared to say 'no' to me, I will make sure to show you who's superior. And if you dare to be arrogant in front of my eyes again, your grandpa will be of help. Let's see how you run away again...."
He had his fists clenched but his smile was mischievous, his laughter could be heard from the outside...

Since when I was teen, I seldom imagine myself being the person referred from the book or novels I have read, and somehow dreamt of having it happen in my life.😍
