Chapter 75

"Mr. Davis, he said he has a plan. He said you will not be harmed and you just have to believe him, just give him a chance. He's sure his plan is gonna work." On the call, Aiden contended so.
"Ok, I will go there then." Saying so Nick hung up.
He was standing in front of the mirror, in the bathroom. He speculated that the man was lying and that what he said was a pure lie.
Getting out of the bathroom he put on his suit and then he strolled towards the bed. He crouched next to her and held her hand.
"I know he is lying. Dad loves me very much, there's no way he wants to kill me. I know that... I know if I go there, I might meet the real culprit behind all this. It can't be my dad, never." Nick mumbled. Though these past months he didn't get to meet his dad he was sure his dad badly missed him. A dad could never tryna kill his son when he loves him so much.
Beep! Beep!
Upon hearing the notification sound Nick pull the cover on her a little and then left a goodnight kiss on her forehead, he stepped downstairs.
"Mr. Davis, the car is ready," Kyle reported.
"Ok. You two stay here and stay alert. Until I come back, don't leave this place. Got it?" Both Kyle and Aiden gaped at each other as they heard Nick. They were kind of disappointed. Was he not taking them along?
"What's wrong with you two?"
"It might be dangerous. Why don't we tag along..."
Hearing Kyle, he glared at him. "I can take care of the danger. Who knows after I leave, if they attack? You two will stay here and call me if anything seems suspicious. Call me immediately. Got it?"
"Got it." They answered him lazily.
The weather was not so nice, the sky screeched once more when Nick was driving his car. He was close to his destination, it didn't take much time for him to reach there though.
Before getting out of the car, Nick tugged his gun under his jacket and then he looked outside of the car. His men were surely everywhere to protect him but nobody could tell who were they except they seemed so ordinary.
When he was stepping towards the room his most desirable enemy was, he felt weird. Second by second, he felt like he should not go inside. Why? He had no idea. But he was so curious to know who it was, that he couldn't just go back.
Standing outside the room, Nick took a deep breath and told himself, "It's not my dad but my enemy. It's someone I might know or not know, I have to see who is he." Taking another breath as he was about to open the door a familiar voice could be heard inside the room.
"Is he dead?... Send me pics. I want to see his dead body."
No, did he hear wrong? It couldn't be... Suddenly he felt his hand weakening as if something was stopping him from opening the door.
"Who's there?" Yehan spoke up, cutting the call he stepped towards the door.
"Is that you..."
"Hi, dad."
The door was in the middle and the two persons were standing opposite of each other. Yehan Davis whom he knew to be his father, his dear dad, the person who loved him more than his own life was not standing opposite of him. No, why he was here? Did he mistakenly...
Nick laughed awkwardly and put his hand in his pocket as he needed to keep calm. "You might have mistakenly come here. Right, dad?"
As he walked into the room and looked around, Yehan quickly closed the door and asserted, "Since you are here, I won't pretend. Say, what are you here for? Did you buy my men?"
No, that's not what he should have said. He kept telling himself that it was not his dad but Yehan's words were suppressing his willpower.
"What are you saying? Dad. I am..."
"Stop pretending. There's no meaning in your acting all sane. Since you are alive and standing here, I bet my men have told you who was trying to kill you. So you came here to check me, I see."
Until now, he kept trying to think the opposite of what was right in front of him. How could he just say that? Didn't he think of him getting hurt by his words?
"He did. He told me that it was you but I know it's not you. It's not you, right dad?"
"You are wrong. It's me. I wanted to kill you. Do you know how? By my own hands but I couldn't dirt my hands so I had to..." Yehan sounded so proud. Nick couldn't take it anymore, he covered his ears with his hands and said, "I don't believe it. Dad, if someone is threatening you, you just tell me. I will take care of them. Just name...."
Yehan grabbed his hand and looking straight into his eyes he said, "Look at me, do you think I, Yehan Davis can get threatened by anyone? I'm telling you the truth, it's up to you whether you believe me or not."
"No, you love me. I know that you... You always understand me the best, you support all my decisions and you pray well for me. I know you love me very much then how can you want to kill me? It doesn't make any sense. Dad, I don't believe it. Please tell me the truth, I know what are you saying is not the truth."
"Don't call me dad, it disgusts me to hear you call me dad."
"Dad..."
"I never loved you and about the things you mentioned, I have tried my best to pretend that I loved you and I could never think of killing you. But seeing you alive every day, my blood would boil. You are like a hindrance in my eyes..."
Nick kept his fists clenched. Was he dreaming? No, it was like a nightmare. His dad was telling him that he wanted to kill him...
Squatting on the bed Nick let out a soft chuckle and blurted out, "Is there a camera? You might be pranking with me, right dad?"
"I told you not to call me dad! Since the day you came to this earth you were a bastard that I wanted to get rid of at any cost. Anyhow, I just wanted you to die and disappear before my eyes. But those bunch of shits! They never could kill you, they always failed to kill you."
No, this time he heard him right. Bastard! He called his son 'b@stard'? Why?
Nick asserted to him, "Bastard means..."
"Right, didn't you know? Ahh, your mom might have never told you. You are not my son, you are an illegitimate b*stard. Do you want to know more? Your mom had an extramarital affair with another man and..."
"Stop it. Please stop..." Nick could barely manage to control his rage.
"Your mother had cheated on me and she had you with another man."
"I said stop."
"I told her to abort you but she insisted on having you. She gave birth to you behind my back so I had to get rid of you but like mother, like son. You didn't die whatever I did. Your mother left you to me and I had to raise you. I had to see the bastard growing up every day right before my eyes. If I have known, she would be such a b*tch, I would have...."
"I said shut up your mouth!" Standing up Nick hit his hand on the wall angrily.
Yehan gulped as he suddenly saw him bursting out in anger. He took a step back and swallowed fearfully.
"I will never tolerate anybody badmouthing my mom, so just shut up before I lose my mind and...."
"What will you do to me? Will you kill me? I will badmouth her, I dare call her a 'b..." Suddenly Nick grabbed his neck and pushed him to the wall. Just noticing what he was doing, he moved away immediately, and bowing his head he requested, "Please... Stop!"
"You... You dared to grab my collar! How dare you..." Yehan said so angrily.
Nick stepped back and bowed his head before him. For a second he loses his mind. How could he tolerate someone badmouthing his mom... She was not even alive anymore...
"I will not tell the police to investigate my accident. I will end this case here, let's not let anybody know that it was you, dad. If I stay here anymore, I might end up doing something I don't want to do so I better leave. Forgive me for being rude. Goodbye, dad." With those words, Nick strolled towards the door to leave but just when he was about to open the door Yehan started laughing louder as if something funny happened.
Yehan wandered towards him and standing some inches away from him, he proclaimed, "Why are you acting so protective towards her all of a sudden! Don't forget that you are the one who killed her. You should never forget that you killed her."
Those words were more than enough to hurt him, to dig his old wound. Outside, cloud roared again and inside the room, Yehan was laughing like a devil. Seeing how he was standing like a statue he couldn't be happier.
Yehan moved a little closer to him. "You should never forget that you eat people. Your brother, your mom, you have eaten them. Don't forget the crime you did, don't forget that you are a MONSTER. Even the girl you married has to suffer because of you. People like you who kill people should never talk loudly as if you are pure."
'Al, save me. Al...' Though there were lanterns in the room he couldn't see the lights. He felt as if his head was spinning around.
'Mom, save me. Save me, Mom...' On one side he could see his brother who was screaming for help and how little Nicolas couldn't help him. How could he? Nicolas was lying on the floor, filled with broken pieces of glasses, there was blood all over the place. On the other hand, he could see his mom running towards him and suddenly someone stabbing her from behind.
Thunderstorm!
'Noooooo!' Nick trimmed his ears with his hands and crouched on the ground. He found himself out of Yehan's room. He wanted to scream, he wanted to get up and run but he couldn't... He couldn't even move, words got stuck in his throat...

Since when I was teen, I seldom imagine myself being the person referred from the book or novels I have read, and somehow dreamt of having it happen in my life.😍
