Chapter thirty nine

"You brought a Priest to help search for your demon sister?" Panic and fear cast upon her face as she almost shrieked the question.
Martin immediately turned to the horse beside him and pulled down the leather bag belonging to this said stranger.
"To be frank, I'd also been having a bad hunch about his presence," he said as his hands searched through the Priest's belongings.
Quietly, anxiously, the rest watched.
None half as anxious as Razia though.
There were a few blades piled in a corner, two tome books and some other Catholic talisman he couldn't recognize.
But, something else had his attention.
A small book was tucked away in a corner, bound by straps of thread in a way discrete enough to draw attention to it.
Ignoring the expectant looks cast his way, Martin Tonnel snatched it out of the bag and vegan looking through it personally.
So much for a book that forced his attention. All he saw within was a junk of meaningless sketches of God knows what. However, he hadn't been the son of his father for nothing. Living in an ever growing Kingdom like Decresh for almost quarter a century had certainly taught him to read between the lines.
Somehow…all those sketches were reminding him of someone.
He took a moment to flip through pages in search of anything that might not be entirely useless…and then the motion came to an abrupt halt. Various versions of a man were drawn all around the central page, still reminding him of that…someone.
Concentrating his eyes on one of those images, he saw the figure's claws dropped with liquid, having his mouth showing all his fangs in a roar.
The long dark hair was familiar, so were the chiseled body and formidable strength. Why would the Priest draw sketches of his brother?
Several pages later and the drawings of Abraham's wrath went on, successfully heightening the anxiety in the air.
"Are you sure this Priest is just a Priest, Miya," growled Razia in one of those violent, aggressive tones.
Miya's uncertainty did not provide an answer though.
"Here's a note," Martin almost exclaimed. Finally something with meaning! As he read through the lines silently, the frown that formed on his face was one to worry about.
_Then I saw one stronger than demons
And fiercer than anything ever seen
A gaze bright like fire was all I could gather.
Infact, he was fire.
His presence is like a suffocating drag, setting the air in a breathless nightmare.
He comes to kill me in every single dream…and of course does it before my shaky legs could help me run.
Looking at me with eyes like the blue sky. Claws and teeth like the tip of a spear.
But I shall find this beast…and end him. Surely that'll bring an end to my misery.___
Martin glanced up like he'd suddenly run out of breath. Fear marred his face, followed by perspiration and a whole lot of gasps.
"Oh no," he whispered after their gazes urged him to speak. "He plans to kill Abraham."

For no reason in particular, Abraham had his concentration out through the window, down upon the fields. With an arm braced on the panes, he rested his head on it, casting blue cloudy eyes on what was his. Of course no obvious emotion was on his face.
But suddenly, even with his pose unwavering, he sensed presence apart from his in the courtroom.
Slowly, he sniffed in hard…and the scent he received brought a frown to his face. It belonged to a mortal…for sure, but none he'd ever smelled within Decresh.
At the thought, caution set in; and he turned around to meet this intruder.
"I knew you truly existed," said Paul Herrman while walking forward very slowly. A newfound sense of peace struck his soul, one that brought an end to years long journey. But, another part of him had fear; fear of finally becoming face to face with someone that had been nothing but a monster in your nightmares.
Still, he was excellent in curtailing that cowardice. "At some point, I believed I was crazy to embark on a journey to find you. But then, here you are; the fire djinn, right before my very eyes."
"What the hell are you blabbering about," Abraham cocker a brow in his usual demeaning manner, that king like glare he carried about like life. But no, there was a better question at a point like this. "Who are you?"
The Priest shrugged nonchalantly and came to a halt. "Call me one of your numerous haters," he said, "…and try not to play dumb with me."
He got a frustrated groan from the King. Surely, this was not the first time a mortal attempted to bore him with talk. Half of them ended up as burnt flesh. The other half…well mostly women, ended up in his bed. Which actually entailed the same thing.
But back to the present time, he rolled his eyes and gave a lazy snarl. "I'll give you the last chance to walk away and save your life. How did you even get past my guards?"
"Saving my life should not bother you," Paul drew out his sword. "Think about yours."
Now, Abraham laughed teasingly…and slightly arrogantly. After using a moment to pace towards the center of the room, he shot the man another glare. "So, you're here to kill me? Have you been drinking?"
"Oh I certainly wasn't drinking all those countless nights you appeared in my head," replied the man, mildly outraged now. When he saw something like interest on the King's face, he continued. "What did a nine-year-old possibly do to you that you'd haunt him every single night until he's a full grown man?"
"So you've been fantasizing about me," Abraham flicked his tongue over his now razor sharp teeth that he purposefully displayed. "While I'm flattered, it's such a shame I can't fulfill your sinful desires."
"Still choosing to play dumb, aren't you?"
"I am far stronger than a million figures of you," the djinn barked his reply. "Why exactly should I fear you enough to lie?"
Paul smiled to him; a dark, mischievous thing.
Slowly, he reached into his inner pockets and pulled out a beaded necklace tied unto the good old fashioned crucifix. He hadn't failed to notice the look of fear that had just replaced the pride on Abraham's face.
And at that, he smirked and gestured to the heavens. "I am but a mere Priest; a demon slayer. But, I haven't come to you on my own; the Creator controls it all."
