NOW that we are sophomores, we could finally join in the different clubs for our grades in extra curricular activities. If in our freshmen days some groups started to be formed, now it was worst. I mean, whoever got into the same clubs as you, they are going to be your friends. And what I mean by that is you have to stick with them during the whole year for clubs often organize some school activities. Nothing in the list of clubs suites my taste. I mean, I like dancing, though I can still remember what happened the last time I tried to participate in this kind of activity. Becca snatched my moment, and I don’t want that to happen again. I mean, I’m sure she’s going to choose to be a part of the dance club. So I’m not going in there. The cheer leading squad. More like another dance club, I guess. It was just mixed with using your loud voice and some props like pompoms and mini skirts. Freeda, Lia, and Elyzz got into that club so there is no way that I’m going to list my name next to them. Tyler got into two clubs, only making me out of those clubs for I don’t want to be in any club same as him. He got the sports club and music club, not that I’m interested in his recreational activities. But it was just so surprising that Tyler, the bad boy of Jackson High is going to sing in front of all people. Going into the music club is really tempting, for I saw some new students in there. Jake Echarri, a sweet and handsome guy from another village. I mean, he’s really cute by just standing there and doing apparently nothing, so what more if he sings you a song, right? Though I don’t want to brought a storm to our school and I can’t also play any instruments so I guess that the music club is not really meant for me. Scott got into sports club, and Nathan, being a stubborn guy as he is, joined into two clubs, probably trying to show off to us, to the rest of our squad. He chose sports club like Scott, and the most hated club of all students... Drama club. I nearly laughed hearing about Nathan joining in there, though an ideas suddenly flooded into my mind. Maybe, just maybe, if I will choose the most hated club of all, then I will be finally able to follow the rule number one on my manual which is to stay low-key. Kids joining the drama club are the ones who doesn’t even paid any attention to any other clubs except their own. And besides, Nathan is there so I guess it wouldn’t be so bad joining in. So that’s how I pretty much got my club. I’m now officially part of the drama club. Just thinking about that is really making me laugh out loud. But I chose to remain calm, for we are now at the Cafeteria, eating lunch with the whole squad. “Imagine, I joined two clubs... In that way, I wouldn’t waste any single seconds of my time...” Nathan bribe up. “Yeah, yeah, whatever, Nathan. I wanted to focus on sports specially basketball so I joined in the sports club. And Nathan is there too, so I guess it would be fun,” Scott lengthy explained. “You guess it right, brother!” Nathan tap his shoulder. “How about you, Nat?” Scott asked me. I gulped, before drinking my orange juice on the table. I cleared my throat before answering him, as if adding a suspense to my response. “Drama club?” It came out foul, seems like I’m so unsure about my chosen club. “Drama club? With Nathan?” Becca asked, her brows almost touching in confusion. “Yeah? I mean... I’m not good at anything so I chose the worst club here, they said...” Becca nodded, before I caught her secretly rolling her eyes over me. I wanted to confront her, and demand what’s her problem about me was, but then, I don’t want to ruin the happy lunch mood in here so I guess I’ll just shut my mouth up for now. “Becca, what did you chose?” Scott asked, too eager to find what club does Becca belongs to for the whole year. “I got into two clubs... Cheer leading and drama club,” she looked at me, raising one of her brows. “With Nathan and Natalia? That was unfair!” Scott complained. “If only I knew about that, then I should’ve signed up for drama club as well...” Scott stated, looking like he’s almost going to throw a tantrums any time now. “You can still sign up later,” I assured him, shrugging my shoulder. “No! I mean, the listing for club members are now over... You can’t joined in now...” Becca opposed. “That’s cruel,” I whispered unconsciously. “Excuse me, what was that?” she asked, furious about what I said. “Nothing.” “No, I heard something.” Again, she raised one of her brows. “I said it was nothing!” I couldn’t help but to raised my voice out of annoyance towards her. “Chill out, guys... I mean, girls,” Scott stated. Becca rolled her eyes towards me before clinging her arm to Nathan’s. I can’t help but to feel insulted, for I was the one who helped her get close to my bestfriend and now that she’s finally getting what she wanted, she’s treating me in a not so very nice way. “Come on, classes are about to start now.” Nathan stood up, simply removing Becca’s arms on his. Scott just looked at them, while I’m currently fighting the urge not to laugh at what Nathan secretly did to Becca. It’s obvious that he’s not interested to her, though he just can’t say it. We all packed our stuff up after eating lunch, Nathan and I going at the same direction for we have the same classes on our afternoon period. Thankfully, our class schedule right now is way better than before. Nathan and I almost have the same classes together while Becca and Scott has their own moment too. “Are you okay?” Nathan asked, while we are walking down the hallway. “Yeah, I guess so.” “You guess so?” I nodded. “I saw how Becca is treating you these past few days. Is there something wrong between the two of you?” “To be honest, I don’t know. I mean, she spent her whole vacation with Lia and Liam and I think...” “You think what? That she became just like them?” he asked, his brows almost touching in confusion. “Yeah... Maybe. Though I can’t blame her either. She can’t choose her family members, Nat.” “But she can choose what attitude she’s gonna possess whenever we are around... I don’t know why Scott like her that much...” My eyes widen, and my knees trembled in shocked. I almost loose my balance but thankfully, Nathan caught me before I fall. “Are you okay?” he asked, helping me up. “Yeah... Wait, you know?” “Know what?” “You know about Scott liking Becca?” “Yeah, it’s obvious. I’m always teasing Scott about it whenever Becca is not around. Haven’t you noticed it?” “I do... Scott even confessed to me how he feels towards Becca... An he even asked me for my help–” I covered my mouth, thinking that maybe Scott left that part out to Nathan. “Asked your help for what?” “Nothing...” I looked away, feeling guilty. “What is it?” Nathan asked curiously, moving his face forward towards me. “What do you think you’re doing?” I asked. “Tell me or else...” “Or else what?” I asked, challenging him. He didn’t answer me, instead, he got more closer than I expected he could be right in front of my face. I looked away, avoiding his gaze. “Fine,” I gave in. “Scott asked for my help to get close to Becca. But I’m afraid I cannot do that right now for she’s starting to get on my nerves,” I explained. “Then I’ll help too. For Scott...” “But Nathan, Becca likes you, and you know that. How do you think she’s gonna react or feel if she finds out about this?” “I told you before, haven’t I? I already got someone special here...” He pointed at his chest. A pang of pain invaded my system, and I don’t know why. Maybe because of the fact that Nathan just told me that he already has someone special... Someone that could replace me any time that whenever that girl was wanted to take my bestfriend away from me. “Hey... Why are you frowning?” he asked, cupping my face. “Nothing.” “Are you alright?” I removed his hands from my face before walking away, ignoring his last question. I guess I’ll have to endure being just a friend to Nathan for now.
