It's been a week since Joey had become more silent since what Kyle had told him about the girls feelings. He chose to sit alone in the cafeteria lately, and he literally didn't communicate with a lot of people, comparing that he's usually friendly with everyone. Taylor and Eleanor noticed his changes, but he told them that he was fine.
At Taylor and Eleanor's house...
"That's it! I'm gonna go talk to Joey again." Taylor grabs her phone from her desk.
"Sis! We tried to talk to him for a week, and he said he was fine. Well, even though he's obviously NOT FINE, but maybe we should find out why? Since he refuse to talk about it," says Eleanor while sitting on her bed.
"I'm gonna go visit his house!" Taylor starts calling Joey on her phone. His phone was off. Taylor assume he might be charging his phone.
"He's not picking up! That's it, I'm just gonna go there," Taylor says.
"Mom literally told us to finish our homework first," Eleanor reminds her twin sister that they still have a lot of homeworks.
"I only have 2 left. I can finish it by the time I come back," Taylor says while putting her cardigan on. "You're not coming with me, El?" Taylor asks her twin sister.
"You know I would love to! But I literally still have to finish my homework. Like, I'm just getting started," Eleanor answers in disappointment, because she really wanted to visit Joey.
"Ok. I'll be back in about 2 hours. Bye El," says Taylor before leaving the room and closing the door shut.
At Joey's house...
Kyle opens the door to see Taylor standing in a black cardigan and ripped jeans. Taylor told him that she wants to see Joey, and so Kyle lead her to his room.
At Joey's room..
"Ok, Joe. Enough with this! What's been going on?" Taylor asks her best friend.
"I'm fine, Tay! Geez, why do you have to talk about this all the time?" Joey literally sounds like he doesn't want to talk about it.
"Don't you say that, Joe! Didn't I eventually change my ways after the play, which made you felt like there was something different about me? Guess what? It's on you now! You've been acting different, Joey," says Taylor to her best friend. She is disappointed in him for keeping his distance for a week. Joey just stayed in his chair, silent.
"I miss my best friend! Eleanor and I..we miss you! We miss the big brother you were! We miss the guy we never feel awkward about. We miss our favorite boy in school," says Taylor while trying to hold back the tears that are starting to fill her eyes. Joey notice that Taylor had been trying to hold her tears back, and so he approaches her. He looks at her face to face, and use his thumb to wipe her falling tears.
"Taylor..I'm soo sorry. I never meant to be distance to you and Eleanor. You guys are like my sisters! I would never want to hurt you guys! I care for you two," Joey apologizes while trying to calm his crying best friend.
"Then why did you change, Joey?" Taylor ask with eyes still filled with tears.
Joey takes a deep breath before finally letting out the words. He can't keep this to himself anymore. Whatever happens, it's better the truth be spilled, than to live a life of lies.
"A week ago, my brother noticed something on our photo from the arcade, which I never realize before," Joey starts telling the story while holding Taylor's shoulders.
"What was it?" Taylor ask in a confuse tone.
"He looked at the expressions on both you and Eleanor's faces. He told me that, there could be a chance that you two," Joey tries to find the right words to finish the sentence.
"What?" Taylor ask.
"Liked me," Joey finally finished his sentence, making Taylor surprised. "After that, I thought about everything. I remembered you two had been acting different lately, as if there was something special to hide. I felt stupid for not knowing any sooner, and my feelings were left confused. Remembering that both of you are my best friends, I just don't know what to do. It's complicated. Since that, I just want to be alone, and that's why I distance myself from you and Eli. I was afraid that I'm only gonna cause misunderstandings in us," Joey tells Taylor everything he had felt for a week. Taylor just stood in silence and shocked. She didn't know what to say. Joey had just told her that he knew she and Eleanor had feelings for him, and that he doesn't know what to do. After a moment of silence, Joey finally decides to break the silence.
"Tay," Joey says.
"??" Taylor just looks at him out of words. She didn't know what to say.
"Tomorrow, I want to talk to Eleanor at the park. I want to tell her everything, like what I've just told you," Joey says to Taylor.
"Don't," Taylor just answers with her head looking down. Joey notice it and lift her head up.
"Why?" Joey ask.
"Because I don't want her to be hurt by the truth," Taylor says, a feeling of guilt starts crawling in her heart.
"Why is that?" Joey ask, still in confusion.
"Joe," Taylor calls his name, her eyes again shifts down to the ground.
"Yes?" Joey replies to Taylor.
"This relationship is too much for us to handle! If I'm with you, I'll hurt Eleanor. And I don't want to hurt my twin sister. But if you're with Eleanor, I know you don't want to make me and Eli both feel hurt," Taylor says with sadness in her eyes.
"I could never do that, Tay," Joey says.
"But one day, I don't want to live in regret, knowing that I never told my best friend how I truly feel," Taylor says with eyes filled with tears.
"Tay..you just told me the situation. I completely get it," Joey tells his best friend that he understood.
"It's not just that, Joe! There's something else," Taylor tells him.
"What is it?" Joey asks his best friend.
"Joe...One day the three of us are just gonna forget about our young love and move on. Eventually, we'll marry the right person for us, who we would love for eternity," Taylor says. "But before that, can we just embrace this young love while we're still young?" Taylor asks him with hopes in her eyes.
"How?" Joey asks his best friend who starts to lean closer to him.
"This, Joe," Taylor says as she slowly close her eyes.
In only a few seconds, her lips touched Joey's, and the two kissed for what felt like an hour for them.
