Chapter 198 Short Battle

"Awesome!" Julia exclaimed.
"That is unbelievable!" Claire said aloud.
Carol covered her mouth in shock while Haley smiled to herself. Such raw power that could blow up massive enemy units was unprecedented. Victor could destroy an entire fleet like playing a video game!
And he actually did the very same. Victor launched consecutive attacks in different directions, blowing up the LCFs in line. Explosions rocked the water's surface, causing whirlpools and spouts to erupt all over. It was as if the ocean was being churned by a monster.
"The enemy has given up!" Maverick declared over the radio. "The ships are retreating into deep waters!"
"Not so fast," Victor said, smiling fiendishly. After all the massacre Monolith caused, he was not prepared to let them go.
Starfall roared again and again. Its power beams were straight, accurate, and devastating. They landed on all thirty LCFs, no matter how far they escaped into the ocean.
When the last ship fizzled out and sank, Starfall powered down. Smoke rose from its black surface as if it had been just taken out of a furnace.
There was silence for a minute as the ocean settled down to normalcy.
"Hurrah!" Valerie cried out over the radio. "Caesar has eliminated Monolith's second wave!" The soldiers in the third line of defense joined her in shouting victory slogans.
"Confirming that all enemy units are neutralized," Maverick joyously declared over the radio. The girls watching the livestream jumped for joy and hugged each other. Did Victor really end the battle within minutes? Was the enemy truly defeated?
"It's probably too soon to say this, but this was better than any Hollywood action movie I've ever watched!" Julia exclaimed.
"Oh, Victor…" Claire whispered, wrapping her arms around herself. She was really turned on by the man's display of might and power. To think such a mighty warrior liked her made Claire queasy between the legs. Now that the battle was over, Victor would return, and they'd pick up where they had left off last night. She couldn't wait!
Carol looked relieved. She had been anxious about the battle, fearing Monolith would use Thanatos, Victor's bane, against him. However, it looked like they attacked prematurely before manufacturing a Thanatos weapon. The enemy underestimated Victor and paid the price.
Haley B and Julia hugged each other. "Let's have a party!" Haley declared. "Mav, you're invited as well!" This made the five-star general blush.
Victor heaved Starfall over his shoulder and relaxed. The consecutive strikes had taken a lot of power out of him. Starfall was a mighty weapon in itself. But it consumed Victor's own energy to launch attacks. It was worth it since all enemy units were neutralized before they could breach the third line of defense.
Victor fished in his pocket and retrieved a sachet. It contained a blue pill, which he swallowed immediately. His skin had turned a darker hue and was steaming.
As soon as Victor took the formulation, with an expulsive hiss, his body normalized. His protruding veins retracted, and his skin tone returned to its original.
"Does he need to take the blue pill every time?" Claire asked curiously.
Maverick nodded. "Caesar's body heats up incredibly when his limiters are removed. Therefore, he must take the formulation soon after."
"Hmm. What would happen if he doesn't take the blue pill over an extended period?"
Maverick exhaled and shook his head. "You don't wanna know," he replied in an ominous tone. The young man turned to the live video and smiled.
"Welcome back, sir," Maverick told Victor over the radio.
Victor did not respond. He stood rooted in his position, watching the raging ocean. It's as if he was seeing something others couldn't.
"Sir, is there a problem?"
Victor narrowed his eyes. "Mav, check our sensors. Isn't there an underwater vessel in the deep waters? Perhaps a battle-class submarine? It has been waiting there since the beginning of the battle."
Maverick furrowed his brows and clicked a few keys. "No, sir. There are no submarines in the vicinity. Even if any enemy underwater vessels are looming in the ocean, they are harmless. Perhaps you are detecting a recon ship? Anyway, the battle for Springfield Coast is won, sir. I will urge you to return to Regal Rock."
Victor clenched his jaw and shook his head. "They've made fools of us, Mav. The LCFs and super soldiers were distractions. They provided cover and biding time for their main weapon to come ashore. As much as I hate saying it, the battle isn't over yet. It has just begun."
"Sir, I don't understand-"
Maverick's sentence was cut short as a head appeared in the shallow water. Soon, a womanly figure rose from the ocean and set foot in the sand. She was in a futuristic bodysuit that covered her from top to bottom.
Victor picked up his tattered coat and pulled out a carnival mask. He put it on, hiding his face from the newcomer.
"Caesar!" the woman's voice thundered as if relayed over a loudspeaker. "I am Raven, a General of the Puppetmaster! I have come to end your life!"
