Aiden chooses to escape to the rooftop of the school. He lay himself on the floor with his eyes fixed on the clear sky. The quiet atmosphere that only the sound of birds chirping calmed him down, forgetting the commotion earlier.
“What a hellish day.” Aiden whispered while closing his eyes. It wore him out when everyone surronded him and keep making a fuss. Can’t they just stay silent and not being busy body? Ugh, they are the worst.
Aiden touched his cheek, which was slapped by sir randy earlier. It's not so painful but Aiden really hates being slapped for something that was not his fault
It seems like he gonna skip school tomorrow.
“Ai- Aiden?”
Aiden opened his eyes, Mabella's face covered the bright sky that was a view to him earlier. "Uh-huh, an angel?"
“What?”
Aiden grinned. He suddenly remembered the incident that happened in the store room and at that time, just like now, he thought that Mabella was an angel since Mabella was too pretty that even he cannot describe it. He sat up from lying down while patting the floor next to him, telling Mabella to sit there.
Mabella just obeyed without much question.
"Is it okay for you to be here with me? Aren't you afraid of me?" Aiden started the conversation.
“Hmmh.” Mabella shook her head.
‘Hmmh? What is that? That so cute.’ Aiden thought.
The, Aiden closed his mouth with his hand. Wow, lately, Aiden's mind kept praising Mabella without him noticing it.
It's amazing how this nerd girl can earn his attention.
“I-I trust that you will never do that.”
“Why?” Aiden became curious. She is trusting too much someone she just met. Is that okay? Doesn't her nature make people take advantage on her?
“Be-because, you are not that kind of person, Aiden. I know we just met, but during the time we spend together, you are nice, Aiden. E-even you are not that clever, but you are good. E-even you are a playboy, still, you were a gentleman so there is no way you gonna do that, I know you and-and I want to trust that you're not that bad."
“I see.”
‘But why do I feel like she mocks me?’
Aiden caressing Mabella’s head. “You know, you are really interesting. Well, maybe that’s your charm.”
“Err, thank you?”
“But please don't be too kind and don't trust people easily. You had me worry there. What if people take advantage on you?”
“Erm,, are- are really that worried?”
Aiden dumfounded. Again, he closed his mouth with his hand. When Mabella raised her face and looked at him with big round eyes that were like a puppy, Aiden melts. She is just too cute to the point he wants to squeeze that cheeks of her.
Actually, he can just do that, but it's not nice to touch someone like Mabella like he usually does. Mabella is too precious to be touched by a scumbag like him.
“Yes, I am that worried so you gonna listen to me, right? It’s okay to be kind but not too kind, get it?”
“I- I get it.”
“Good girl.” Aiden began to stand up.
“The school is over now, and looks like everyone already went back home. Let’s go, Mabel. We should get going too.” Aiden realized that today's school is just full of chaos. For something like this happened to him, its really not cool at all.
“But- but Aiden, why don't you go look for your friends? I'm sure they are all worried about you.”
Aiden suddenly becomes quiet. It's not that he doesn’t want to talk with his friends, it’s just that he does not want to involve and bother his friends in his problems. It's better for him to face this problem alone.
“I dont think that’s necessary.” Aiden put both his hands in his pants pockets. he walked past mabella.
“W- why? Its not like you really did it.”
“Of course I didn’t do it.”
“Ai- Aiden, trust me, if you keep this to yourself, you really gonna make your friends worry sick. They all your friends, they will never think that you’re burdening them. After all, that’s the use of friends. Friends is a place for us to rely and share the problem together.”
Aiden stops from walking. His eyes widened. Again, Mabella really know how to get his attention. Surprisingly, Mabella's words really reassuring him. How to put this, at first, he thinks Mabella is a nerd who only know how to study, plain and boring, but the more he known her, she becomes more and more interesting. Also, he never thought that Mabella is the who get to put him at ease.
‘Hahh.. she is just too damn cute.’
“Mabel.” Aiden turned around.
“Yes?” Mabella looked at Aiden pair of eyes.
“Thank you.” Aiden walks away.
Mabella was stunned, standing stiffly in her place. Aiden’s smile... looks so sincere and beautiful.
Mabella observed Aiden from the classroom. She saw Aiden get into a car to go home. A moment ago, Mabella asked Aiden to go home first since she had a few things to do at school.
Mabella sat down on the chair before taking time to think while waiting for Adam.
To be honest, Mabella doesn't like situations where Aiden is accused. Mabella also wants to find the person who spread the story about Aiden.
However, Mabella was a little grateful. The person who made this fuss, inadvertently, has opened up opportunities for her to forge closer ties with Aiden.
“Hey Bella.” Adam walked into the classroom. He pulled up a chair to sit across from mabella.
“This is your phone.” Adam returned the phone belonging to mabella.
“Thank you.” Earlier, Adam borrowed a phone from her so he came here to return it.
“Do you see that two girls? Are they still in the school?” Mabella asked another question.
“Oh yeah, I saw them. They walked next to me, the direction that they want to go to is the toilet.”
“I see, then Adam, I will take my leave.” Mabella stand up.
“Sure, call me if you done.”
“No, you can go to your home first. After I arrive at home, I will call you so that you can come over.”
“Okay.”
Then, they choose to split.
