Aiden leaned against the wall. He closed his eyes, recalling what had happened in the cafe earlier. For him, this was the first time he had received a confession from someone who is a nerd and the most unbelievable thing, he got a confession in a public place.
‘But still… she is cute.’ Aiden smiled. The girl seems afraid, but she really has a courage to confess.
“What the hell are you smiling at? Stop smiling. It’s scary you know?” Marcus approached Aiden while lighting a cigarette. He then stood next to Aiden.
“You’re still thinking about that girl?” Marcos asked but he did not get a response.
“You also have never been in any serious relationship with anyone so how about give it a try then?”
“Huh?”
“I mean, date her. You can give a try.”
“But I don’t like a nerd, it doesn't suit my taste.”
“That's why, I'm asking you to give a try. Who knows, it can be interesting? A girl like her can be amusing and funny sometimes, she might lighten up your day that was boring. Admit it, she is a nerd but still, isn’t she cute?”
“No thanks, she looks bothersome.”
“You never know until you give it a try. She might looks like that, but who knows what she capable of? You really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.” Marcus is chattering. Aiden really needs to learn to choose a good girl.
"What do you mean? A nerd like her obviously only know to study. I doubt that she knows how to date someone. It's gonna be boring."
"Well, you can just date her like your other ex-girlfriends. If you think she doesn't suit you and you really can't go on with her, then, you can break up. That's what you always do anyway.” Marcus did not stop suggesting his idea.
Aiden was silent, considering Marcus's idea. What Marcus said was right, he can just try to get out with that nerd girl and if he's bored, he can break off their relationship. But..
"I don't know, I don't think I can do that." Said Aiden.
“Why?”
“Dunno. I just have a bad feeling about this. ”
“Heh~ so dramatic. Anyway, it's up to you. If you don’t want to, then, it's okay. But it wouldn’t hurt if you just try to get to know her. You don’t know if you are destined for her, right?” Marcus smiled.
“We've been friends for a long time, but I still hate your smile.”
“Awww, I bet if I'm not here, you will miss my smile though.” Marcus tossed his cigarette butt on the ground.
“As if.” Aiden looks at his friend. Although Marcus always seemed to smile while talking, but his words often had meaning behind it. He looks like a sly fox, always cunning on his words.
“Why? Am I too handsome?”
“Nah, no way.”
“Hurts babe, that’s hurt.”
Ringgg! The school bell rang to signal that the break time was over.
“Hey,” Marcus called Aiden.
“Hm.”
“Wanna ditch school?”
Aiden rolled his eyes upwards. “You crazy? We should be excellent students instead of doing bad things.”
“Wanna ditch school?” Marcus asked again, ignoring Aiden's words.
“Yeah, sure.”
On the other situation, Marcos, Rohan, Emma, Gianna and Sophia do some investigation to the girl. They are already tired of wandering around a school just because they want to find this girl. Just why the hell did this girl run away, leaving them in question?
“So, tell me your name.” Sophia was the first person to ask the girl.
“Ma- Mabella but please just call Mabel.” The girl looks a bit scared when Sophia and the others surrounded her. Moreover, she was the only one who is sitting while the others stood and glaring at her. She felt like herself as a dwarf surrounded by some giants.
“Nice name. So tell me what did you see in Aiden? What’s the reason for you to like him?” Sophia asked again.
“Be- because he is handsome?” Mabella felt pressure. Why would she stuttering every time she wants to start talking? This stutter will always happen when she is in a state of extreme nervousness so it cannot be helped.
“Huh? That’s it? There is no other reason like him being a hero that comes to save you when you needed in help?” Marcos raises his left eyebrows. He never thought that this nerd girl reason will be that simple.
“I mean, if we talk about handsome, aren’t I’m the one who is the most handsome?” Again, Marcos was puzzled. Why should all girls be attracted to Aiden who is clearly no less different from him?
“Not even a little.” Sophia objected.
“There- there is no other reason. You- you all knows that Aiden not too kind to help others.” Mabella replied.
"I agree with that." Marcos repeatedly nodded his head.
“But you like him just because he is handsome?” Sophia asked again.
“And-and pretty?”
Sophia looked at her friends when she heard Mabella's answer. Well, it's not like they can deny that Aiden was pretty.
Emma smiled. “Can you tell me which part of him was pretty?”
“His- his face, of course.”
“Yeah, I agree with that too, but basically, didn't you like him just because of his face? If you want to date someone who has a handsome face, than anyone will do right? Why would you choose to like Aiden?”
“I-I didn’t choose to like Aiden, I did like him. After all, why should I like anyone other than Aiden?”
Emma fell silent upon hearing Mabella's answer. She did not expect such an answer. Maybe she’s a nerd, but she is so different from the others girl. Well, maybe?
“If-if you a-are done, can I go now? I-I can’t afford to waste my time, I need to study.” Mabella stood up and quickly left them all.
Sophia and her friends fell silent.
“She is far from Aiden's taste.” Marcos broke the silence between them.
“Yeah, I doubt that Aiden will like her but... well, we can't predict the future right? Who knows Aiden might as well take a little bit interest in her.” As always, Emma remained positive.
