chapter seventy two

"Hey, Max, have you heard from Red lately?" Iris asked.
"Yeah, I talked to him a few days ago. He's been super busy with work and writing new songs. He's really focused on his music right now."
"That's great to hear. I know he's been working hard to get his music career off the ground. How's he handling everything?"
"He's doing well, but he's definitely feeling the pressure. He's been putting in long hours at the studio and trying to balance everything else in his life. But he's got a good support system, and he's determined to make it work."
"I'm glad to hear that. Red is such a talented musician, and he deserves all the success in the world."
"I couldn't agree more," Max said with a smile. "He's been putting his heart and soul into his music, and it shows. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next."
"I'm happy for him, I wonder if Felix ever thought about his music career before," I said.
"I'm sure he's happy with his career now," Max said.
"But I'm pretty sure he'll be happy to go back to music, even not as a career but just a hobby," I smiled, thinking back on all our music memories when Xefora was still a band.
"I'm sure he would. Music has always been a big part of his life," Max replied, reminiscing about their band days.
"It's amazing how much we've all grown and changed since then," I said, thinking about how much our lives had evolved since Xefora disbanded.
"Yeah, but some things never change. Like our love for music and each other," Max said, raising his coffee cup in a toast.
"Cheers to that," I said, clinking my cup against hers. "And cheers to Red, for chasing his dreams and making them a reality."
We were at the canteen of the hospital waiting for Felix to end his shift for today. We planned to visit Isla today with Max. We've been missing Isla so much that we planned to visit her grave.
"Are you ready to go?" he asked, his voice low and subdued
.
"Yeah, let's go," I said, standing up and gathering my things.
We made our way to the car and drove to the cemetery where Isla was buried. It was a somber and quiet place, but it was also filled with love and memories of our dear friend.
We stood by Isla's grave, each lost in our own thoughts and memories. We talked about how much we missed her, how much we loved her, and how much she had impacted our lives.
"Isla, I have good news for you," I smiled. I held Felix's hand, "We're together again," I said. " I know you'll be very happy for us. We never forgot about you, Isla. We missed you so much," I said.
Felix kissed my hands, while I stood there forcing myself not to cry in front of Felix and Max, we also lit up a candle for her.
Max placed a bouquet of flowers beside the candle, and we all took a moment to silently reflect on our memories of Isla. She was a beautiful soul, and her passing left a deep void in our lives.
"I wish you could be here with us, Isla," Felix whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "You were always the one who brought us all together. We miss you every day."
I couldn't help but tear up at Felix's words. Isla had been the glue that held our group of friends together, and her absence was still deeply felt.
"But we're doing our best to keep your memory alive," Max said, placing a comforting hand on Felix's shoulder. "We're here for each other, just like we always were."
We stood there for a few more moments, lost in our thoughts and memories of Isla. Even though she was no longer with us, her spirit lived on in the love and friendship we shared.
As we left the cemetery, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. Even though Isla was gone, her memory would live on in us forever. And as we drove back to the hospital, I knew that Felix, Max, and I including Red, would always be there for each other, through the good times and the bad.
We decided to visit Red in his studio as well. We missed him so badly, but we understood why he was busy. This is his dream, and we support him so much.
While we were parking in front of the studio, we already saw Red waiting excitedly for us.
As soon as we got out of the car, Red came running towards us, his face beaming with excitement.
"Hey guys!" he exclaimed, pulling us into a group hug. "I'm so glad you could come!"
"Wouldn't miss it for the world," Felix said, returning Red's embrace.
"It's so good to see you," I added, smiling at Red.
We followed him into the studio, which was filled with musical instruments and equipment. Red showed us around, pointing out the different instruments and equipment he was using for his latest project.
"I'm working on a new album," he explained, his eyes lighting up with passion. "It's been a lot of hard work, but I'm really excited about how it's turning out."
"I can't wait to hear it," Max said, nodding in appreciation.
"Me too," Felix added. "You've always had a talent for music, Red. I'm sure this album is going to be amazing."
Red grinned, clearly thrilled by the support we were showing him.
"Thanks, guys. It means a lot to me," he said.
"By the way, Felix. Do you want to collaborate on one of my songs? I would love to sing with you again," Red ask Felix excitedly and I saw how Felix's eyes went wide in shock.
"What are you talking about, Red? I'm a doctor now," he said as he shook his head.
"So what? That doesn't mean you can't sing anymore, besides i'm not asking you to change career. I was just thinking that maybe our xefora fans wanted to hear from us again even in just one song," Red smiles.
"You think I can do it?" Felix looks at me.
"Of course, you can. It's just one song, babe. it won't hurt anyone," I assure him.
Felix looks back at Red and nods his head. "Alright, let's do it. It'll be good to sing with you again," he says with a smile.
Red jumps up in excitement, "Yes! I already have a song in mind. We can work on it together and make it amazing!"
Max and I exchange a glance, happy to see our friends reconnecting through their shared passion for music.
As we settle into the studio, Red starts strumming his guitar and humming a melody while Felix joins in with the harmony. Max and I sit back and enjoy the beautiful sound of their voices blending together once again.
It's clear that even after all these years, their musical chemistry is still as strong as ever. And as we listen to them work on their new collaboration, we can't help but feel grateful for the enduring power of friendship and music.
