CHAPTER 3

AMANDA DWELLS IN HER AUNT'S HOUSE

It was around 9:00 a.m. when she finally got out of bed and dialed her boss's number.
"I apologize for not being online a while back, Sir Claude. I was quite exhausted from my long travel yesterday."
Amanda, that's okay. I understand!   I will ask you to do something tonight; just do it tonight!
"I'm sure your mind's still floating," her boss added.
"Okay, sir, I am grateful that you didn't yell at me."
"Thank you for your consideration, sir."
"It's okay, Amanda; take care!"
"My boss is very considerate; I'm going to go downstairs and see my aunt."
"Hi Aunty, good morning!"
"How are you?"
"Here, I'm doing embroidery."
"Eat your breakfast there!" she added.
"Alright, Auntie, later."
"Ahmm... auntie, how long has it been since you last saw Mommy Kayla?"
"Dear,  "I can't remember how many years it's been," she replied sparingly.

Her auntie didn't speak much, and she noticed that she was sewing small clothes and embroidering them after.
 "Okay, auntie."

"Dear, I will leave later; you will take care of the housework."

 "Okay, auntie."

While the auntie was not in the house, she was working online. Amanda focused on the computer, and until it was twelve o'clock at midnight, she was not done, and she was feeling sleepy.

Then, suddenly, she heard a woman crying, and she listened to it carefully to determine which room it was coming from, and she stood up. She lost her sleep when suddenly the door to her room slowly opened. She slowly approached the door, and the girl was still crying, so she went out of her room, and suddenly the door closed by itself.

She listened carefully to the cry from which door the woman was crying.  She turned the door to the hallway and seemed sure she was in the third room. It was dark, and the only light was in the hallway, but the light was weak, so she turned on the light in the room, and suddenly a doll fell. A room was filled with stuffed toys, and there was a small mattress that could fit one person. She slowly entered the room and picked up the doll that had fallen. After picking it up, someone walked outside the door with long, sooty white and long brown hair. She put the doll in its place on the table and immediately went out of the room. She was about to leave when she saw the doll on the bed. She wondered why the doll went there; she thought of closing the door. She felt fear, and her bristles stood up. She looked around to see if the woman who passed by earlier in the hall was there, but she didn't see her and she didn't hear the woman crying.

"Who could that be?"

"Does Auntie have someone here that she's not telling?" she asked herself.

She hurried into her room without even attempting to open the door since she was so tense. She was still feeling anxious as she sat on the bed, but she wasn't hearing any cries, and she continued her work on the computer until it was finished. She was still awake, and it was almost three o'clock in the morning, and she seemed to feel sleepy. She laid down on the bed and closed her eyes, but suddenly the other room made a lot of noise and commotion, punching the walls and crashing things. A woman's voice that appeared to be crying and in anguish was heard. Because she didn't want to hear it, she put on earphones and turned up the music so that she couldn't hear it, and that way she could fall asleep. When she woke up in the morning, she didn't know which room she was in, and all she could see was a table and chairs. She wondered why she was lying on the floor. She stood up and went out of the room, recalling that this door had suddenly opened last night.

"Dear, it's time to go downstairs, and we're going to have breakfast," her auntie called from the kitchen.

She got down and went to the kitchen.

"Auntie, I'm wondering why I went to the other room and was lying on the floor; I don't really remember going there."

"Oh, I don't know about you either, dear; I'm just here in my room; I can't see you there."

"Maybe you sleepwalked," she added.

"Do you notice anything creepy here in your house, auntie?"

"Nothing, dear, and why?"

  "No, auntie."
"Ahmm... auntie, do you have a child or family?"

"Ahmmm, I have children, but they are not here." "Where are they?"

"Don't ask too many questions, and eat your breakfast."

Her auntie seems to be grumpy.

They ate in silence, with Amanda drinking coffee after her meal. After they ate, Amanda went up, and suddenly her left leg hurt while she was going up the stairs. She heard her phone ring, so she rushed into the room.

"Babe, I will come to see you later." Are you okay there? It seems like you're okay."

"I'm fine, babe; don't worry; my foot just hurt a little bit suddenly."

"Alright, babe, just give it a rest."

After they talked, she called Kitty, who was concerned about her and was her closest friend.

"Hello Amanda,  How are you? You didn't talk to me last night. "How is she there?"

"Is she your aunt's real sister?" Kitty had many questions.

"I'm not sure, because the picture is quite old and she was still young in the picture, so I'm not sure, and I didn't see any pictures inside their house either."

"Alright, Amanda, just say when you need something and if there's a problem, and go home when you have to."

Auntie Shaira heard what was discussed outside the door and brought more snacks for Amanda. She knocked on the door and placed it on Amanda's table.

"Dear, don't starve yourself; eat." "I just made this snack for you since I will be leaving and you will be here alone for the rest of the day."
Her aunt expressed worry and care by suggesting that it was beneficial to eat while working.
"Thank you, Auntie; you are very caring."
"Have a great day ahead, my dear!"
