As the song changes into a more slow, romantic song, Junghwa and Hana continue to dance along together. Being together for the whole night had made both of them feel a deeper connection between them. They didn't bother to care about anything, including the constant stares they've received from the other guests. They only have eyes for each other. "You're a great dancer," Junghwa says in a smooth yet flirty tone. Hana forms a shy smile as her cheeks starts to blush. "You're not bad yourself." "Not bad? I was a part of the dance club when I was in elementary school," Junghwa says with a confident tone. "Really? I guess I wasn't wrong when I had that in mind," Hana says. Junghwa then twirls Hana around, before catching her back in his arms, making her let out a small giggle. The two gets into eye contact for a moment, as Junghwa gently pulls Hana closer to his embrace. Junghwa's POV... I stare at Hana who's eyes are now staring into mine. Her eyes sparkles as I feel her sharp vision shoots over my eyes, making it fall to this little heart of mine. I realized that I've lost my sense of the world as I continue to get lost in her eyes, and without a complain, I fully enjoy it. In this moment, it feels like her eyes are speaking itself. "Junghwa.." "Yes," I answer. I wait for her soft voice to tinkle through my ears again, but instead she just slowly moves her vision down, breaking the eye contact we had. However, I noticed her hands starts to tighten the grip on my arms. The warmth of her touch tinkles the feeling to protect her more. Slowly I pull her waist closer to my chest, where we could feel each other's bodies now, and also each other's heart beats. Again I waited for her to say another word, but she just kept silent. I could feel the tension between us rising, as the song changes to another love song, our hearts continue to beat as if it's following the rythm of the music. I start to move my vision down to her plump lips. Red, shiny, and somehow awakens a tempting sensation in me. Slowly, I lift up her chin, where her eyes shifts back to mine. Again we enter another eye contact as our faces slowly gets closer to each other. Deep down, the desire in me starts to rise as I feel the urge to connect with her more. Our heart beats starts to beat faster as our faces gets closer inch by inch. "Junghwa..." Like giving her an electric shock, I didn't give her an answer with words. Instead, I let my action speak for itself as I connect my lips with her, letting the exciting feeling rushing inside me like a blaze of emotions. Meanwhile... While waiting for Zach to get some drinks, Ara is on her phone since she is texting back her mom who had asked her when she'll back from the party. "I'll be back before 11:30 PM." - Ara. Ara's POV... I put my phone back into my small sling bag. I turn my head back up, but what I see wasn't something I was prepared for. I could feel my heart crushed into a million pieces at the sight of Junghwa and Hana kissing from a distance. Both of them looking lost in their own world, leaving any fear and troubles they have behind. Their little moment even caught the attention of some the guests. I could hear some of the jocks rooting for them, and some girls even called them out as "cute" and whatever else. Despite the pain I feel in my heart right now, I couldn't find the urge to turn my vision away from them. Even though every second felt like my heart just received another cut, somehow I didn't want to escape this pain. I want to accept this reality. The reality that my best friend and cousin are now together, being all cute, and falling deeper for each other everyday, and it all started with me who actually gave him her number. Kim Ara, you did it! You hooked up your best friend and cousin. You should be happy right? But why are you still unhappy? "Hey! Drinks here," Zach says, finally back from getting the drinks, but I didn't bother to look at his direction. Instead, I just stood silence looking at the young couple. "Ara?" Realized that he had called my name, I turn my vision to see Zach standing with two cups of watermelon juice. He had a puzzled look on his face. "What were you staring at?" Zach ask. I sigh. I didn't want to get Zach's attention of my unstable emotions right now. Yet, I had to answer his question, though I didn't really feel like it. "Nothing," I answer, and might just knew that it was a lie. "Are you ok?" Zach ask. As expected, he didn't just believe my words like that. Zach turns his head to see Junghwa and Hana, and the little smooch they did just now. Well, at least he didn't witness the long kiss. That would be more awkward. Feeling broken and unstable, a tear slide down from my left eye. Not wanting Zach to know about this, I turn my head down to the ground. "Yeah. Excuse me," I say as I walk away from the scene, leaving Zach to stood alone. I bet he's probably wondering, but that didn't matter. Right now, I just want to escape this moment, without wanting anyone to see me like this. 20 minutes later... "Where's Ara?" Grace ask Zach in an agressive tone as she approaches him. "Somewhere, I think," Zach says, before he takes another sip of his watermelon juice. "Bro, how long have she been gone? Cause I haven't seen any signs of her," Grace says, before taking a sip of her vodka. "About 20 minutes," Zach says, still sounding chill. It's obvious that he didn't sense that something's up with Ara. Grace rolls her eyes. "Are you really this insensitive, Conner?" "Woah, she only told me excuse me. I assumed she went to the bathroom or something," Zach says. "Bro, she could already pass out with a bottle of whisky right now and you might just not know," Grace says, her voice sounding a bit tipsy now. Zach stood in silence for a while as he starts to think of the all the possibilities, though he hasn't seen Ara drink alcohol before. Would she even finish a bottle of whisky all of a sudden? It didn't seem to make sense, but somehow the thought of it made him a bit worried. "Excuse me for a moment," Zach says as he walks away from Grace. He starts to search for Ara in the crowd, but she is no where in sight. Where could she be? Zach thought. Meanwhile, in the dining room... "Drink, drink, drink...." The sound of screaming and cheering keeps echoing inside Ara's head as she takes another shot of whisky. For a newbie in the drinking game, she grab some attention with drinking 3 glass of whisky in a row, much to her now already tipsy state. "Done," Ara says while holding up the empty glass, showing it off to the crowd watching her. "Well, well, I didn't know Alexa here is a good drinker," Tracy says as she walks up and stood beside Ara. She puts one of her arm around Ara's shoulder. She then turns her head to see Ara's face, looking all drunk. "No offense, but you look twice uglier when you're drunk," Tracy says, making the whole crowd laugh at her statement. "Just shut your damn mouth, Tracy," Ara blurts out. She then furiously throws Tracy's arm that was wrapped around her shoulder. "Ouch! Watch what you're doing, you brat," Tracy slightly shouts. "No wonder your best friend prefers another woman than you." "Duh, Tracy! The girl doesn't have any manners," Bianca suddenly adds, making the whole crowd laugh histerically. Being in a tipsy state while having a bad mood, Ara couldn't hold her emotions to well in front of everyone. Usually she would try to keep calm every time Tracy and her minions make fun of her. But this time, it's like something has got into her, making her more emotional than usual. "Shut up!" Out of the blue, Ara suddenly slaps Tracy hard in the face, making the crowd shock, and Tracy to stood in silent. She couldn't believe Ara would have the guts to slap her. "I told you to shut that damn mouth of yours," Ara shouts at her. In fury, tears slowly starts to run down her eyes, making Tracy both shock yet confuse. "Ara!" Zach's signature voice can be heard coming from the crowd. Zach runs through the crowd and reaches Ara, who is in the middle of both drunk and having tears in her eyes. Zach takes a good look of the young girl, and felt his heart hurt at how sad she looks. He stares deeply into her brown eyes, and realize that she's on the edge of almost breaking down soon. "Let's go," he whispers to her. Zach then drags her away from Tracy and the crowd. Looking at Ara's current condition, he thought it's best to take her home now. Zach drags Ara out of Matt's house and enters his car. He wasn't able to find Matt since he was probably lost somewhere in the party. Yet, he thought he could always inform him that he had left later. Right now, he needed to get Ara home. Looking at how tipsy Ara is, Zach helps her puts on her seat-belt, before putting on his own and eventually driving off, leaving the neighborhood. "How much did you drink?" Zach ask, trying to break the awkward silence between them. "Ugh..3, I don't know," Ara says, her voice already sounded weak. Zach turns his vision for a second to take a look at the drunk girl. It's the first time he sees Ara in a drunk state, and it really worried him. He was even surprised that Ara would actually take multiple-shots despite that it was her first time to drink. "How do you feel now?" Zach ask. He wanted to tell her to control herself next time, but now he knew that he should make sure that's ok first. "Bad. My head hurts," Ara says in a low tone. Silent filled the air for a moment, before Zach suddenly hears sounds of sniffing from Ara. He took a quick glance to see that she is crying all of a sudden. "Why did he choose her?" she suddenly ask. Zach became speechless, but didn't quite get what Ara was talking about all of a sudden, especially since she's been crying again every few seconds. "Why didn't he just like me instead?" she ask again. Zach became more confuse, by that he thought about asking the girl what's going on in her mind. "Who are you talking about?" Zach ask. "Junghwa," Ara says, before bursting out into tears again. It felt like a lighting had stroke him all of a sudden after hearing Ara's words just now. Questions starts running around his head, wondering if all this time could Ara have feelings for Junghwa? He really didn't expect that coming. "Do you like him?" a question he ask out of shock. Ara went silent for a moment. She wipes her puffy eyes lightly with her thumb, while staring at the road as Zach continues to drive through the lonely night. As if her soul is numb, she almost forgot how to answer the simplest question. She didn't want to think too much since her head hurts, by that she finds the urge to answer impulsively. "Yeah," Ara answers. Her tone was chill, calm, and a little desperate. Zach felt surprised at her sudden confession. He never expected Ara to be crushing on Junghwa, since he thought that she liked Matt. The three of them had been best friends since middle school, and for what he knew that Junghwa was never Ara's type in what she assume to be an "ideal boyfriend". Sure, the girl founded strong chemistry as best friends with Junghwa, but as a boyfriend, Ara had a few times stated to them that she has zero tolerance for players. In fact, that was one of the reasons why Junghwa didn't even try to flirt with her, after flirting with all the girls in school. "Since when?" Zach ask. "It just happened," Ara says. "But he doesn't like me back." Again, Ara's statement made Zach speechless. Like a sudden realization of a fact, it was surprising. He takes another quick glance of Ara. She sit in silence with empty visions on the road. Her long black hair falls beautifully under her chest, yet her usually calm and collected face looks messy. Tipsy and puffy eyes, along with the drunk aura. In a drunk state, she still looks beautiful. Zach thought. Even though his best friend looks messed up, yet Zach still found her to look quite charming. A few minutes on the road passed as Zach arrives at Ara's house. He parks his car in front of her house. "We're here," he says as he takes off his seat belt. "I don't wanna go in," Ara says in a drunk tone. Zach raise his eyebrow. "Why?" "My parents will kill me if they see me like this," Ara says. "But, Ara, you're drunk. You need to get some rest," Zach says. "Take me to your place," Ara says. To be continue...
