A girl with blonde hair motioned me to stand up in my seat, I looked at her from head to toe and I remembered she was the one who stared at me on the day of coming over here. Her eye is too sharp, it's like she's challenging a fight, after all, I just smiled and I remember Victoria from her.
“Hey you...the newcomer. “
“Am I the one you are referring to? “
“Yes. “ She says it to my face.
I stood up and faced her and then I stared at her. I am trying to look through her personality for how long she will treat me this way.
She raised her hand and laid her palm on my chest. At that moment I found myself floating in the air. She spun me around in the air. All the witches in the dining area were surprised by what she did to me. They are all standing from their seats and trying to stop the girl who has blonde hair.
At first, I was not able to control her magic. I almost floated in the air. I can’t get my balance to control her magic, surprisingly, she makes fun of me. I don’t know what her problem is with me. I don’t know what her problem is.
Until then, I can balance my body in the air and I was able to fly and move around with the chandeliers hanging in the dining room. I know I had surprised her with what she saw from me. Maybe she never thought that I could do that and now it’s my turn to teach her a lesson. I flicked my finger three times and at that moment the girl with blonde hair was frozen like ice.
Everyone here was blown away by what I have done to her. I flew back to my seat and everyone stepped back and astounded by what I did. I heard them mumbling and keeping their eyes on me. Mia glanced at me and whispered to me.
“You should not do that, you should control yourself. “
“Not all the time Mia they must know who I am and no one should control me. “
Mia was shocked by what I said. I don’t let anyone here that would underestimate my ability. I am Thana and I’m different from them and the magic lives in me.
“Oh, Thana is that you? “
“Well, Yes. I’m just showing what I can do. “
Mia just keeps silent from what I have said and just as I expected everyone mumbling about me, they should be afraid of me, I don’t let anyone control me and I just don’t want to make things happen just like what happened in the St. Claire Academy. I’m in Atenowa and each of us has a special ability. We are all witches and they are my sisters, but, treating me too badly...that I will not allow it to happen.
The door opens wide and I see Orenda entering the dining room together with a lady who has white hair that looks like my grandmother.
I quickly flicked my finger to bring the girl with blonde hair to normal. She grasps her breath and hurriedly goes back to her seat and her eyes keep staring at me.
Orenda clapped her hands to catch our attention and she motioned everyone to stand up from the seat.
"Everyone, I need your attention Lady Brume has an announcement to say."
All of them in the room swear her head to give respect to Lady Brume except me. I just kept staring at her until our eyes met. It was as if time had stopped as we looked at each other, I could see nothing but her. I just realized by myself when I heard her voice it was calm and she sounds nice to me.
"You must be Thana, the new student here?"
"Yes… yes, I am." I answered quickly just like everyone does. She scanned my personality, she looked at me from head to toe.
"Hmm… Thana? The Granddaughter of Cordelia and daughter of Allegra."
"Yes, I am," I answered her.
"Your eyes are just like your mother Allegra."
In my astonishment, I just blinked my eyes at what she had said. It seems she knows all about my family. How close is she to my family?
Meet me tomorrow in my office at seventy thirty in the morning." I just nod at her and glance at her walking away from the crowd.
" Okay, everyone please be seated and enjoy your dinner," Orenda said to us.
Everyone follows Orenda obediently and starts to eat our dinner. But, still, it can get out of my mind the old Lady Brume. Did she know my Grandmother? Who is she? The way she looks at me is disparate from the others.
After we took our dinner everyone went back to their room Mia and I straight forward to our room for some reason I need to talk to her. I faced Mia and asked her some questions.
"What do you want to know?"
"About Lady Brume… who is she? Why does she know all about my family?"
"Tomorrow you will know her better."
"What do you mean?"
"Your family is one of the powerful witches Thana, and you are the last era… that is why your grandmother always said you are different from the others."
I listened carefully to what Mia said to me, but I still can't understand why Lady Brume is so different. There is something in her that I can't explain. I feel that she and I have a special bond that speaks to my soul. I'm just overwhelmed by what's happening, circumstances that I can't understand.
I sat on the couch near the window of my room. To my surprise, I was amazed by what I saw from the outside of this place called Atenowa.
"Mia come over here." Mia moves closer to me.
"Hey, you see what I see? Mia just nods and takes a look at the magical colours that surround the place of Atenowa.
" What is that Mia?"
" That is a barrier to protect those like you Thana."
Atenowa is different from the outside world. There are a lot of enemies that hide their real personalities.
"Oh, it's too complicated to stay here."
I was just depressed as I looked at the magical colours and I suddenly remembered Lucas. Oh, this is silly, why all of the sudden he came into my mind. I turn to Mia to ask for some favour from her.
"Mia".
"Yes?"
"Can't we go out to this place?"
"I'm afraid, no… What is in your mind?"
Mia reads my mind, no wonder she is my guardian even in small details she can sense everything that I wanted to do.
"I want to go to the place of people."
"What?" Mia almost screams from what she heard from me.
"Yeah, I want to visit Mandy and Andy. I want to know if they are okay… if what school they chose for college". I explained to Mia.
"Are you sure that 's the only reason?"
I really can't keep a secret from Mia, she can sense that there is another reason and that is Lucas. I need to see him. I don't know why I feel this way? What are they called? Is it love? The thing that a human called about this kind of feeling but, no, it is not possible, maybe I'm just concerned if he was able to go to college. I could have done nothing but admit to Mia that Lucas is the other reason.
"Yes, it's Lucas… I just want to see him."
Mia turns around to me and holds my hand.
"Are you in love with him?" She questioned me.
"I don't know… I never let it happen."
"I'm afraid that we can't go out to this place until you finished, you learned about how to use your magical power," Mia explained to me.
I just look at the window of this room and hope that one day I will be back to Mandy and Andy. I'm going back to my family and soon I can see Lucas.
Exactly seven-thirty in the morning. I went into the office of Lady Brume. Maybe this is the time that I can get to know her better.
