“Hey, I heard you earlier, I knew it, that was you! Can always tell if that’s your voice!” Ana seems very proud, she is drinking her favorite four-season juice, while sitting under the coconut tree. “I ordered a cucumber juice for you, come, sit here, take a rest.” I chuckled and sat beside her.
“So how was your vacation here?” I asked, a random guy arrived, and Ana confirmed it was my drink, I mumbled my thanks when he handed me the glass, “Are you enjoying?”
“Well, yeah. Sort off, but I wish we could both enjoy here, but yeah, you have some works to do, but hey, that was your last practice, we can roam around,” she took a glance to her wristwatch, “Let’s enjoy the rest of the day!”
Like what she said, we enjoyed the remaining hours of the day, we went and rode to banana boat, we played a little volleyball, we got a little competition in sand making, and we joined a seafood competition, and we won, how I miss doing those things.
It’s almost seven in the evening when Ana told me she had an emergency online meeting so she had to head back first, and I totally understand that. I let her do her job, after all, that’s her career. I sat near the sea, I lay down my shawl and settled myself, before grabbing my phone and dialed Jane’s number, it took her a minute before she can finally pick up her phone.
“Hey, how’s everything?” I mumbled as soon as she answered my call.
“Hey, sorry, we just got home, I had to drag Dan out of the taxi, my god!” I chuckled upon hearing that, Dan is a headache when he fell asleep and we were outside, we literally had to drag him, and he won’t budge. That’s how heavy sleeper he is.
“No worries, so how’s Mom?” I placed my fingers to the sand, and wrote randomly, “Is there any progress? What does the doctor say?”
I heard her sighed, “Nah, there wasn’t any kind of progress, she needs operation right away, that’s the only process they can do,” I heard the door closing, and her, throwing herself to her bed, “You know that.”
“I know, I’m doing my best,” silenced almost ate us for a moment, “Go get some rest, I’ll be home in a few days, tell me when something happens there, okay?”
“I will, take care, and enjoy, we were doing just fine here, don’t think about us so much.” With that, I ended that call.
The sea breeze is so calming, like I want to be in a deep slumber, I’m so tired thinking about everything. It’s so hard that I had no rest, my mind is so full, it won’t stop asking questions even myself don’t know the answer.
I took off my sandals and went straight to the ocean, it’s calling me, like a lullaby, I wanted to know and try how deep the ocean is.
The second my body submerge to the cold water, I felt the calmness I’ve always been wanted, who would have thought that I get a rest to this tiring world by just submerging my self to this ocean? This island, this Elysian Island, must be a magical Island.
Since I was fifteen, I’ve always wanted to go here, most of us wanted to go here, actually. This island was exclusively owned by I think, five billionaires. Most of them are said to be bachelors, and lots of woman in my age now is still trying to get those bachelor’s attention, so they are doing everything to set their feet inside this island.
But that would be impossible, well, technically it’s possible if you have tons of money you want to waste by just staying here for a limited time, but that’s not me, I want to go here solely because of the island itself. I’m craving for that peace this place could offer.
I was thinking so calmly when I felt a tight grip on my waist, holding me up from the water.
“What the fuck?!” I heard a man’s voice.
That’s when I realized, I was not breathing at all, and when a man pulled me up, that’s when I start to catch my breath. My chest is aching even my head, my mouth keeps on spitting water.
“What the fuck do you think you are doing?!” My eyes are still blurry, and I can’t recognize the man in front of me. “Hey! Hey, you’re Ana’s friend, right? Elina, right? Can you remember me? I’m Grayson, just, just Gray.”
I nod, I still feel dizzy, “Just Eli.”
“Can you walk?” I shrug, with my eyes closed, I feel like everything is moving, like how the fuck is that possible, right? “I’ll bring you to your hotel room, what’s your room number?”
“205.” I shortly answered. I heard him sigh, but I’m too tired to ask or what, I just let him carry me, I mean, I’m not embarrassed right now, I’ll just say sorry tomorrow.
