/ LIYANA'S POV
"What are you? Kids?"
I look at this stupid guy beside me. I wouldn't be here if not because of him. Sir Miller, our teacher caught us fighting at the classroom and he immediately called us at the disciplinary office.
"It's HIS fault!" I said emphasizing the "his" word.
"Upon entering the room, a book hit my head because this idiot is playing inside the classroom. I would--"
"Hey!"
"SHUT UP!" I yelled sealing his mouth so he could stop talking.
"Teacher as I was saying, I would have let this pass if only he asked for an apology but instead he called me stupid for not dodging the book that he threw. So, if someone is to be punished, it should be him only." I said not batting an eye.
Surprisingly, Sir Miller looked at me amazed and is even smiling. Is everyone here weird? Teachers including? I don't find this situation funny at all. I am furious!
He cleared his throat and look at me.
"Liyana right?" I nodded and he smiled.
"Jdkfga" The guy spoke in muffled words nudging my elbows. I look at him.
"What?"
"Alsjfhfyk" He said still not able to utter a proper word as his mouth is sealed.
"Huh?" I furrowed my brows. "Don't tell me you don't know how to break that spell? I ask him.
"Jfgdjks"
And there, I burst out in laughter.
"You are really funny, don't you think?" I said. "You had the nerve to call someone stupid yet you don't even know how to break a simple spell? In that case, just consider yourself mute unless you unseal that mouth of yours on your own."
His eyes widened and glared at me. I rolled my eyes. As if I'm scared. Gosh, he's funny.
"Teacher this is all this guy's fault." Then I pointed at him. "So if I may, can I leave now?"
"Huh?" Sir Miller asked dumbfounded but seconds later, he nodded smiling. "Yes of course.. you can leave now. Don't worry. I'll punish him accordingly and I apologize that you experience such a thing on your first day here at the Academy."
"No, it's fine Sir. Thank you," I smiled widely.
I stood up ready to leave but the guy beside me violently shake his head, holding my arms preventing me to leave. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Should I close your eyesight too?" I asked and he immediately let go of my hands. Tsk.
Quickly, I left the room leaving him. It's his fault anyway so no need for me to be guilty. Plus, how dare him call me stupid. I hope Sir Miller punish him severely.
I walked through the hallways while looking around. The academy isn't bad at all like how I imagined it to be.
Rivendell Academy.
My mother told me this place is a mess years ago before it was restored. A war broke out that took away thousands of lives of it's people, children included. And all of it's buildings and houses were destroyed. It's very tragic that mother refuse to told me any details about it anymore. I even asked her why did a war happened and who is Rivendell's rival but she never told me.
And then, she enrolled me here and I only knew the academy's name and that's all. And I am here because of Mother's liking.
// Flashback one week ago
"We are here.." Mother announced and the carriage stopped at a huge gate.
Mother is excited of the thought of me entering the academy while I am not interested at all. I knew how to control and use my own magic so I don't know the reason of me to enter the academy to learn magic again.
Even if I was sick for a long time and can't remember anything from my past, when I woke up, I found out that I knew how to control and use my magic.
I probably trained and learned magic before I was sick that's why even with me not having any recollection about my past, I still knew how magic works.
"Mother, do I really need to be here?" I asked her again and again and again.
She look at me and smiled.
"Even if you keep repeating asking me that, my answer will always be the same. Now, come on." Then she led the way inside.
I sighed. This is the first thing she asked me to do after I woke up and recovered from being sick.
"You need to go at Rivendell Academy."
I keep on complaining about it on her but we are already here and there's nothing I could do about it anymore.
// End of flashback
Sighing, I decided to skip class and went straight to the academy's library. Maybe I can find something there. I am really curious of what happened back then when Mother mentioned about the war. I don't remember anything. And I am curious of Rivendell Academy itself.
But wrong move girl.
The academy's huge with multiple training grounds and buildings that I can't find where the library is.
"Gosh I should have taken the academy's map with me," I mumbled. Mom gave me a map of the academy so I could have a guide since I am new here but I left it in my room. Tsk.
I'm going in and out to several buildings already but I can't find the library. I frowned. Do they even have a library?
"I hope this is the right one.." I said standing at the door of the last building at the end of the hallway.
Looking around, there are no other buildings here anymore except this one. Honestly, this building is a bit weird because it's walls are wrapped with thick vines. I even assume this is a wall but I saw there's a door after I walked near it.
"Okay.." I pushed the door and it opened but frowned because it's very dark inside. I can't see anything but darkness.
"Should I enter?" I asked myself. I'm having a second thought considering that this is the only building around here but it doesn't feel eerie and weird though.
After a few seconds, I decided to go inside. I won't know if it's dangerous or not if I'll just stand here. I took a step forward but someone called my name.
"Liyana!"
