Chapter 10 The King's Room

Gwi invites Lyn to take a seat at the table with Siera. The female werewolf looks at the queen. Siera appears to be icy. Yes, the queen is not known for her ability to crack a smile in public. Lyn is genuinely pretty uneasy because she has the impression that she is not wanted there. But seeing Gwi's consistency causes her to be unable to reject any longer. Finally, the three of them eat lunch together in an awkward setting.
"Have you confirmed what you want to make certain with her yet?" Siera is the first to speak up. She recalls Gwi telling her that he couldn't explain anything else to her because of the 'thing'.
"She has a mark on her arm that indicates she is a direct lineage of origin werewolf, also known as a damned descendant by people. That's what I'd like to confirm with her." Gwi speaks openly to his wife, with nothing hidden.
Lyn is troubled by the king's decision; she never expected him to reveal her true identity to the queen so quickly. She is concerned about this. Lyn shakes her head and holds Gwi's hand on the table. Siera's attention is drawn to her gesture, which makes her extremely uncomfortable. Gwi, on the other hand, just smiled and nodded to Lyn, slowly moving his hand away.
"I am confident that even if you knew her true identity, you would understand and accept her." Gwi turns his attention to his wife and looks at her with affection.
"Just as you welcome me without judgment." Lyn can only lowered her head, not even dare checking on Siera's expression when Gwi mentioned about her lineage.
"So she is also a werewolf?" Siera confirms. Lyn is shaken by her voice and words.
"Yes, my queen," confirms the king. Gwi extends his hand slowly and takes Siera's hand in his. He stroked her hand carefully and lovingly.
"That's why I'd like to speak with you about a favor. I understand how difficult it may be to keep her here knowing her true identity. But can we keep her here for the time being and keep her identity hidden from everyone? I want to keep it a secret just between the three of us," the king says to his wife make a genuine request.
"The three of us?" In Siera's ear, it sounds odd. For years, there has only been the two of us between them, with no one else involved. It's quite upsetting. Why should he include Lyn in the term 'us'?
"You must feel a certain companionship towards her knowing that she is of the same race as you," the queen concludes. Gwi's attitude is somber; he smiles, but not in a cheerful way. His eyes are sorrowful.
"I've spent my entire life alone since my parent died, and I lost my entire pack in the pitiful battle in the past. I was under the impression that I was the only race left. So when I locate another werewolf on this planet, I feel as if I've met my second family..." Gwi has a sad expression on his face as he speaks about it.
Siera is well aware of Gwi's pity-filled life prior to their meeting in the forest. The werewolf had lost his entire family and had been betrayed by the first human he had ever trusted. His poor circumstances at the time was one of the reasons Siera took him to the palace. Her father, the late king, did not reject him purely because of his werewolf ethnicity at the moment. Gwi is now considering doing the same. He wishes to save the lost werewolf from a sad fate.
"I would never want to make you unhappy by turning down your request, my king," the queen said, clutching his hand tightly and looking at him with compasion. She knows what it's like to lose a family, and Gwi is the only family she has left who is around. She doesn't want to let him down.
Gwi accepts her acceptance with a genuine smile and takes Siera's other hand in his. He holds both of her hands lovingly. Lyn, on the other hand, who can clearly hear their conversation, raises her head timidly. She notices two persons in front of her staring at each other and holding hands. She then shifts her gaze to Gwi's expression, recognizing how important the queen is in his life.
"I'd have a servant prepare a room for you to stay in." Siera directs her focus to Lyn. She notices the woman looking at her husband.
When the female werewolf realizes the queen is talking to her, her face becomes bright crimson with embarrassment. She immediately lowered her head.
"Can... can I just stay in Gwi's room?" Lyn asks, stuttering a word.
