Chapter 8 The Lost Werewolf

Gwi is currently reading an important document on his private room's work table. He casts an occasional glimpse towards the silver-haired girl he rescued in the woods, who sleeps delicately on his bed. He hopes she will awaken soon.
It's been hours and it's already noon when the lady moves. Gwi can hear her murmuring voice as well. The king rises from his seat and approaches the lady on the bed. She gently opens her eyes and notices a tall man's shadow standing in front of her. She remembers him from the woods.
The lady immediately wakes up as she recognizes her surroundings; she is aware that she is currently on the bed of a man whose identity she is unsure of. But as she hurriesly sits up, she notices a headache; she is still jet lagged.
"Relax, you're fine here," Gwi whispered quietly, taking a seat near the bed.
"Who are you?" the lady inquires hesitantly.
" My name is Gwi, and I'm wondering what happened to you. How did you end up alone in the woods?" The king expresses his concerns. She does not respond right away since she is unsure whether dealing with him about her position is appropriate. After all, he is a complete stranger to her. However, when she notices genuine compassion in his eyes, she knows he is a nice person.
"I got lost when a chimera appeared out of nowhere and nearly hit me, then something struck my body."
"I'm sorry my weapon wounded you. I was on the lookout for the chimera. I really apologize for putting you in such a difficult predicament."
The lady remains silent and does not respond to him. It makes Gwi uncomfortable. The lady seemed to be pretty frightened and shy.
"There's a reason I'm bringing you here. To be honest, I recognize the symbol on your arm. My late mother once showed me the same sign and told me that it is a sign that is passed down through a specific lineage and does not emerge on just anyone."
When Gwi mentions it, the lady is concerned. She quickly covers her arm with her hand, as if she is threatened. Gwi understands why she acts the way she does when her true identity is revealed.
"Are you a werewolf?" he inquires.
When a word concerning her true identity, which she usually tries to conceal from others, is spoken, the lady's eyes widen. After all, werewolves have been vilified by society for millennia and have been isolated for a long time. People are likely to kill her if they discover she is a direct descendent of the first werewolf, due to the terrible narrative spread about the origins of werewolves in society. As a result, her body trembles in fear.
"I am also a werewolf," Gwi says, shocking her even more. The young woman stares at Gwi in disbelief, unable to believe him. How could a werewolf find a home among humans? She has always lived her life in order to hide herself from humans in order to protect herself.
Gwi, who notices the young lady and cannot believe him, stands up and takes steps backward. He quickly transforms into an enormous black werewolf with gleaming fur. The lady gasps in surprise. She still can't believe what she's seeing.
"You can now trust me; are you also a werewolf?" Gwi, in his wolf shape, approaches the damsel once more. The lady nods timidly. Gwi smiles as she clarifies. He then reverts to human shape and takes another seat.
"So, what happened to you? Can you tell me where your pack is?"
Is it common knowledge that werewolves, like other types of wolves, always live in packs? They would never leave a member of their group alone unless something happened. Gwi and his parents lived with their pack in his previous existence before death separated them all and left him alone in the world.
"...Lyn is my name. I was an omega who lived in our pack peacefully. Despite being descended from the first werewolf, I am a weak werewolf. In contrast to me, my brother is an alpha who leads the pack. He is extremely powerful and capable of protecting all of us. We were living in harmony deep in the forest, attempting to separate ourselves from humans so that we would not endanger each other. But one day, a hunter appears deep in the wilderness and attacks one of our members. The apparition of a werewolf is terrifying to humans. We had no intention of harming the human, but he refuses to believe us."
"The human who is afraid of our appearance flees and returns to his village. I warn my brother that another human may come to hunt us again, but he assures me that we will be fine. For millennia, we have lived in harmony with humans, never clashing. He believed that the human had no cause to fight us. As a result, he insists on staying. But then comes what I really fear. The hunter returns with an army to annihilate our village. We didn't want to attack them, but they started killing our members, and I couldn't stop the war between us and humans."
