"Don't lie." I look at him with sad eyes but decided to tell him everything. So I tell him the story from the first week of our last year in high school, she never approaches me on the first day but when Hunter approaches me and try to tease me, she became sarcastic to me, telling me I should leave the school.
And also, I tell him about the comfort room scene where she is more likely to torture me, and tell me to change my appearance into something else that he can't recognize and ask me about what cosmetic am I using but when I told her I wasn't putting some make-up on, she asks her friends if they had cosmetic remover and they rub it into my face and then shock them all as I didn't have make-up. She pictures my face and that... She copied me with all make-up she had.
"That b*tch, I swear—"
"Enough, what I just heard a while ago is hard to take in, please."
"I'm always here when you won't need help." He leans over but because of the seatbelt, he struggles to lean to me so I take it and move in and peck on his lips as we can't kiss since he is driving the car and he doesn't have to look away at the road, if he does, we might crash.
Soon after, we both arrived at the famous ice cream parlor. I smile widely, I now get to went inside this kind of store. While we're waiting for the ice cream, Hunter brought his laptop and did something. "What are you doing?" I ask.
"I forgot to send to tell Hunter to go to his book signing this upcoming Friday." My mind gets dizzy. He had a book signing? Why didn't I heard about that news?
"Why didn't I knew about it?" I pout. He chuckles.
"Do you like that author?" I scrunched my nose as I answer.
"Of course! I've been dying to hear him talking about the Broken Love and I would buy the book if it became available. I found myself so related to that story. Hello?! His book was the best selling here in New York!"
"What will you do if ever you meet him again?" I pouted and start to blush.
"Of course, I will freak out but of course I won't invade his privacy. Then if I had a chance, I will ask what's his inspiration in writing the book Broke Love."
"What if I told you you already invade his privacy?" I look at him weirdly but he seems so serious while staring at my eyes.
"We just met that night, I didn't invade his privacy."
"You want to know about his inspiration while writing that book?" I nodded like a puppy and clasp my palm, getting ready to listen. "He falls in love with one of his schoolmates and tries to get her attention by bullying her. She was very focused on her book that Hunter feel so irritated. He doesn't have any rivals but the book is more than tough than having a rival. It was true to life story but the character was a little different." My eyes widen while his eyes were gleaming and they were sparkling.
"It was true to life story? He falls to his schoolmate?!" My ears can't believe it as I keep on blushing. "Then why there's no one talking about his love life or his pictures with her? Did he get a friend zone? Rejection?"
"I don't think he got friendzone. Enemyzone, to be exact." I chuckled.
"Enemyzone? Do those words exist? Woah!" We both laughed. Our order came and he turns his laptop off and put it back in its bag and pay attention to his food. The phone rings that make me look at it. My eyes widen after seeing an update from HunterC19. What the! I put my ice cream cup and click the notification as soon as possible.
"Speaking of HunterC19, he just uploaded a new chapter of Broken Love!" He chuckled while I became busy looking at my phone. As expected, I am not the first one who read the chapter. It already has 10.2k reads before me. "Can't you tell Hunter to let me read the chapter first before publishing it? I want to be the first who will read the chapter before anyone could read it faster than me." I silently cried as I scrolled down to get to see the story.
"You want to be his first reader? So you want to be the first reader? Then why don't you do it too?" I pout before looking at him with my furrowed brows.
"What are you saying?"
"You want to be the first reader because you like the book, right? Why didn't you do it to me? You have feelings for me but decided not to go to me and confess?" I sighed and put the phone down.
"Then let's change position." He was taken aback while I smirk. "You will deal with Melanie in the comfort room and will hurt you and will bring agony to you." I look down and look back at him. "I honestly didn't think of fighting for my feelings for you because I have dreams and goals to achieve. I also vowed, no boyfriend until I became financially free. We're also enemies back then so it is impossible for you to had feelings for me too and to accept me." Our order came and I took mine. "Goals before boys."
"My baby is matured," he said.
"Baby your face,"
"Yah! Can't you be nice? I treated you ice cream already?" I rolled my eyes.
"There's still no chocolate donut so... Don't talk to me," I laugh at my silliness. I lift my phone again, smiling at him, and start to read. Hunter stands up and leans over to me and sees me reading, but I didn't give him any attention this time since it's been a while since he uploaded the last chapter.
