Broken Love

"I see you love that story, huh—?"
"Shh—" I shushed him. "I am reading right now. I'm trying to get focus on reading." He chuckled. He nods, the smile on his face didn't leave as if he just saw something that makes him happy but I don't care.
And of course, he's a good author that always ends the chapter, cliffhanging. Is he serious!? I am now very excited about the next chapter, they both started as enemies, not enemies— the boy has feelings for the girl as soon as he saw her stepping inside the entrance of their school but of course, he's known as a heartthrob and he knows everyone in the school knows him. However, little did he knows, the girl is nearly like a nerd who always focuses on her study. They both studied literature.
The boy, named Harold has his eyes only for the girl named Alexis. To get her attention, he teased her and even say things he doesn't mean. Calling her ugly is the best way of getting her attention since she doesn't want to be called ugly in front of many students.
One day, they fought again about food, and the setting was in the cafeteria and it was lunchtime. The students in the same room with them blabbered about how sweet they are and how cute they are. They also see some chemistry between them, but the girl disgusted him for being annoying towards her. Some of them whisper about how flirty the girl is to the heartthrob boy but the guy makes sure the girl won't hear all their whispering by just getting her attention and a little loud.
The boy happened to know— Alexis doesn't know him as a heartthrob and famous on the campus. She knows him as an annoying brat, but later on, she falls for him not knowing how did she fell. Why did she fell for him? When does she have to hate him for putting her self-esteem down?
And the last scene was, the girl saw the boy with someone else in some party at the whole campus should attend, it's very ironic that the weather came along with her feelings. She's crying and the sky joined her and pour its tears to her. The night goes on while the girl was left alone outside the venue— crying mess, sitting alone in rocks, soak in the heavy pouring rain.
The boy keeps on texting her but she seems very broken to answer his calls and text. She blames her heart for falling for the wrong person. He's her enemy, so why should she fall for him? They can't be together. Cupid has anger, maybe, because it narrows her heart without arrowing his heart.
I don't know, but tears suddenly came out of my eyes. I can't believe they both have to went through a lot of this. My question is, Why Harold's with that girl? Is it because of some project the author mentioned they have to do some group project? Or are they dating? But the boy loves Alexis, right? He mentioned it already. He has feelings for her.
"Why are you crying suddenly? Does someone texted you?" I look at Hunter and shook my head. I turn my phone off and wipe my tears.
"I hate HunterC19," he stops for a minute then recovers. He has that sly smile on his face.
"Why?" I took a deep breath and starts my ranting.
"Why? Because he ended the chapter in a very sad way! Why does he have to go with a random girl when he asks Alexis to go on a date with him?! Boy doesn't stay with one girl, for real. Boys these days." I shook my head in disappointment. "And if it's about the project, gosh! Such a lame reason! They could talk about the project after the party, Harold's partner is Alexis for the night yet he has the guts to go with a random girl."
"What if he's asking her about Alexis? About what she likes?" I think about his words. It can be but it's still a lame reason!
"Why does he have to ask someone on the day of the party? In the middle of the party? And why he has to let Alexis see them? It breaks her heart!"
"I know, the main characters have to go through a lot of obstacles in their life before they get what they want. If she likes him, she would fight for him." I look away from him. He has some point though. "And the boy planned on surprising the girl because her birthday is coming..." My eyes widen. How does he know?
"You're reading in Hunter's draft, aren't you?" He chuckled.
"I'm not," I smirk. "I'm serious, I'm not." He chuckled and look at away quickly. I look at him, suspiciously but he just ignored me.
To be continued.
