Cassandra freezes as she is standing in front of us, squeezing her fingers. It appears that she is nervous, which is awkward. I have never seen her afraid in front of us; she always acts arrogantly.
"Sorry guys, I didn't mean to bother your dinner. It just so happens that we have made reservations at the same restaurant," she said politely. I guess it's safe to say that we were shocked at how she acted, calm and pleasant. There was no trace of sarcasm on her face, and even her choice of words seemed different.
"That's not a problem for us Cassy, we don't own this restaurant," I said when no one bothered to answer.
"Thank you, Angel, you are so nice."
"What kind of a show is this, Cassandra?" Sam asked; she seemed pissed off and not buying Cassandra's behavior.
"Samantha, I'm sorry, but this is not a show. I understand that it wasn't easy for all of us; I didn't treat you fairly. It was terrible, and I am sorry for that. That goes to all of you guys, Angel, Maddox, Luke and Sam, and even Angel's best friend, Lea. I am hoping that you'll forgive me someday soon."
"I understand that it's not easy for you guys," Cassy added when none of us spoke up.
"And also, my friends have something to say as well."
Avery, Chloe, and Scarlett step forward, moving so cautiously, which they never did before. They look so demure, unlike the arrogant behavior that we are used to.
"Yes, Cassy was right, we may have been too much, especially to Angel, and for that, I apologize," Chloe spoke up first.
"I apologize as well; I mean it," Avery said as she looked at each of us.
"I guess it wouldn't be easy for you to forgive us, but I'm still hoping you'll find it in your heart to forgive us for what we did," Scarlett said.
I could say that they have put up justice in what they said. The only thing left is to find out if they are serious or putting up a show.
"I guess we can all agree that this cannot be decided in just a snap. What's important now is we have talked about this problem, and hopefully, healing will come next," Maddox said.
"I agree with my best buddy Maddox. Enjoy your meal for tonight; we will start to savor the food we have on our table."
"Thank you guys; I guess it's a good start for all of us," Cassandra said. She had the biggest smile I have ever seen; it looked genuine.
Before they left, each one of them introduced their boyfriend. Cassandra is with Louie, Chloe with Clarence, Avery, and Darren, and Scarlett's boyfriend is named Troy. And as suspected, they are all senior students from Harper's International School.
I'm amazed at how fast they can find a boyfriend, last month; I haven't seen them dating any guy, especially Cassy, who was obsessed with Maddox. Or they probably have, and I was too busy to care or to notice them. It's not my habit to keep stalking people's lives.
When they left, I observed, they were all in matchy Hawaiian shirts and shorts. Only by then, I notice that Lea and Gleen are wearing matchy shirts and shorts as well. Sam and Luke keep their matchy get up from Davao City to the island, so only Maddox and I wear different shirts and shorts. I should do something about it by getting matchy shirts the next day—something to keep in mind.
"Let's have our dinner, guys; the food is waiting," Maddox invited as he started serving pasta on my plate. Like he had promised me. He knows I love pasta.
The dining experience was incredible from the restaurant's cozy ambiance, exotic fruits, fresh seafood, and the people I love. The dinner was an unforgettable experience not just for the tummy but for the heart as well.

Luke took a deep breath as he rested his hands on the table.
"What a night; we only want to have a good dinner, but then we've had an unexpected encounter with Cassandra, her friends, and their so-called boyfriends. I hope this is not one of their shows. Because if it is, man, they seriously put up a good show."
"That's not surprising; I'm still not convinced," Sam said.
"Me either," Maddox seconded.
"What more can I say? My only wish is that they keep keeping distance from us."
"Angel, those bitches can't be trusted," Lea chimed in as he pointed to Cassandra's table.
"Lea, please, lower down your voice," I muttered. Although they are not close enough, I'm still avoiding anything that could create chaos. I want things to be smooth for the rest of our stay on the island.
"Fine. But Angel, don't fall for this trap. I'm warning you."
I nod at her to satisfy her whims.
Before the night ends, Luke invites us to the bar to have a few drinks and get to know Glenn as we don't know much about him except as Lea's boyfriend. I highly appreciate Luke's suggestion, showing how sincere he is to be friends with Lea and Glenn. I feel lucky to know Maddox, Sam, and Luke; they are genuine in adding me to their circle of friends.
I don't know what got into us; we decided to exchange rooms after drinking a little. Mad stays with me while Lea is in Glenn's room.
"The night of our first kiss in the forest, I was having a hard time sleeping. I can't get off my head. Did you feel the same way?" I confess to Maddox when we are alone in our room.
"Yeah, the same feeling. I guess it feels that way when it happens for the first time," Maddox said as he rested his head on my shoulder, his breath fanning on my cheeks.
We are sitting on the sofa as we both are not sleepy yet.
"I see. So, when we get used to it, we'll probably don't feel restless at night."
Maddox loosens his arms around my waist, and then he cups my face. "How about we try it again?"
"Hey, I didn't mean that," I replied quickly.
My heart becomes erratic to what Maddox is about to do. He licks his lips, and his eyes are on my lips. I feel my hands are clammy when Maddox leans on me. I close my eyes and allow what should happen next.
For the second time, Maddox's lips touch mine. Still soft and gentle on my lips, I kissed him back as he didn't let go at the first smack. Maddox's hands are on my neck as he deepens his lips a little. I feel his tongue on my lips and try to get an entry; I let him in and follow his pace.
