Now, Stanley was awake and studying in his room, oblivious to Johnny's absence from the house. Suddenly, he heard the sound from the parlor door, and he got up from his reading desk with a start. Then, he got out of his room and walked to the parlor.
“What happened?” He asked with nervous trepidation when he saw Johnny carrying her inside.
“Nothing," he responded and made her sit on the couch.
“Let go of me, now,” Ruby, who felt that she was away from the outsiders and could fight back, demanded.
“If I have offended you, will you vent your anger on our unborn baby, an innocent child?” Johnny asked and confused Stanley the more. 
Now, Ruby was already up from the couch. She looked into his scary his and asked, “And who told you that the baby is yours.”
Nevertheless, Johnny, who had restrained himself from hitting her, could not help it. Hearing that there was a possible rival provoked him. Therefore, he lifted his right hand to strike her, but Stanley held it.
“Stop that,” he warned. 
Then, she inched backward in fear and almost fell. Howbeit, Johnny grabbed her with his left hand to stop her from falling, and called out, “My Ruby."
The name he had configured in his brain, just the way his parents addressed each other meant a lot to them. He swiftly pulled her to his chest and made her to rest her head on his shoulder.
“I apologize for scaring you," he pleaded. 
Now, Stanley left his right hand and walked to his room. Then, he called Carmine. He was in a disordered state that he could not remember that it was midnight. 
At Carmine's Room
Meanwhile, Stanley's call woke her up and she picked up at once. 
“Hello, baby. What's up?” she greeted with a dull voice.
“Are you aware that Ruby is pregnant?”
Now, her eyes were clear. She jumped out of her bed and asked, “What? I remembered that she had a fever. I will get back to you.”
“It is okay.”
Notwithstanding her promise to get back to him and his acceptance, she was not aware that Ruby was not in the hostel, and neither was he aware of that. At that point, Carmine dragged her easy wear which was hanging on the wardrobe door, and ran out of her room. She walked hurriedly and attempted to put on her clothes at the same time. In a short while, she was in Ruby’s room. 
However, the Security guards, who attempted to close Ruby’s damaged door but could not, had returned to their office. Carmine was surprised to meet the door half closed. She pushed it and walked in.
“Ruby," she called out when she met her bed empty. 
Then, she walked to the bathroom and opened the door at once, and to her worries, she was not there.
“What happened?” she asked herself in trepidation.
Now, her mind wandered to many things – ranging from Crystal, Adriana, and Hailey attacking her. So, she called Stanley at once and he picked up. 
With a quivering voice, she announced, “Ruby is not in her room and her door was…”
“She is here. Were you not aware that she was coming here?”
“No.”
“Wait for me. I’m coming for you.”
“Okay.”
At Johnny’s Apartment. 
When Stanley got out of the call with Carmine, he picked up his car keys and walked to the parlor. Now, Ruby and Johnny were still standing and looking at each other.
“Let me get Carmine," he informed them, and his voice brought them out of their deep thoughts. 
“It is all right," Johnny responded and made Ruby sit down. 
He sat down beside her too and consoled her, “My Ruby, you have gone through a lot because of me. I wish I could rewind the hand of time.”
“It is painful," she sobbed. 
Instantly, she pulled her closer and whispered, “I know. Considering the depth of the love we shared, my behavior was unbearable.”
He gave her a peck on her temple and waited for her reaction. To his delight, she did not bluff. 
“My Ruby, forgive the man that you have given your heart to, for our baby's sake.”
Now, she raised her head and looked into his eyes, and they locked eyes. Johnny did not need a prophet to tell him how much he meant to Ruby. Then, he inched his lips closer to hers and gave her a quick kiss and attempted to stop lest she push him away, but she grabbed his lips with hers, and they engaged in a deep kiss.
‘I can’t believe that I have my Ruby back,' he thought and pleasured her with his lips. 
She rubbed his broad chest while he touched her, tummy.
“Thank you, for forgiving me, my Ruby," he said while touching her stomach. 
Now, Ruby had stopped crying, and she dried the tears from her eyes and remained calm. Johnny ran his hand on her stomach happily and appreciated her.
“Thank you for the privilege of being a father.”
She looked at him and inquired, “Are you happy with it?”
“You will not understand how elated that I am," he professed.
She only smiled and looked on. Then, he engaged her in another deep kiss, and she reciprocated. Suddenly, the door opened and Carmine walked in with anxiety. She hoped to meet a bickering couple but was surprised at what she saw. She turned and looked at Stanley, who just walked in after her. He looked at the couple and breathed freely. Then, he held her hand and they walked into his room.
At Stanley’s Room
“I thought you said he almost hit her," Carmine remarked. 
Now, Stanley was tired and needed to go back to sleep.
“I told you what I saw. All the same, I am happy for them and I wish to go back to sleep.”
“You are right. I have not rested since they fell apart. Now, I can sleep with my two eyes closed.”
They lay on the bed, but Carmine was horny and would not let him sleep. 
“Sweetie, it has been a long time.”
“Yes, but the two of you cannot be pregnant at the same time.”
“But you wanted a baby.”
“I do. The stress of taking care of her would be much on you.”
As usual, they must be naked before each other and the light must be on. 
She looked into his eyes and assured him, “I’m in my safe period and there won’t be pregnancy.”
