“Barging into the female hostel is his offense.” Then, Miss Scott asked, “What if the authorities asked, what did he come to do in the female hostel?” Now, Mr. Seth’s brain functioned properly and he looked at his two colleagues. Then, Mr. Job spoke, “I pray that he does not report us to the authorities for neglecting a sick student. That will not speak well of all of us, including the matron.” Mr. Seth ran his hand across his head and looked on in fear. Then, Miss Scott encouraged him, “The good thing is that we did not stop him; otherwise, he would have used that against us.” “Are you saying that we are safe for not stopping him?” “I think so, Mr. Seth. Otherwise, you would be surprised at the allegations he would level against us.” Now, he breathed freely and added, “I pray so.” Suddenly, Carmine walked to the office, with anxiety and requested, “Good morning officers. I want to see my sister.” “It is late. How would you do that?” “My friend is coming for me.” “It is okay.” To ensure that she was safe, and would say good things about them, Mr. Seth and Miss Scott walked her to the gate and stood with her until Stanley arrived. “Thank you, officers. My friend is here,” she informed them. Stanley got out of his car and greeted them, “Good morning officers. Thank you for this.” “It is our pleasure, Young Master. They are our priorities, so, we have to ensure that they are safe," Mr. Seth declared while smiling from ear to ear. Meanwhile, Stanley opened the door for her and she got in. “Okay, Officers. Later," Stanley responded after he shut the door and walked to the driver’s side. Instantly, he drove off. “Later, Young Master," Mr. Seth responded as they waved at the car. They walked back to the office and prayed for the best. "Why is that chap like that?" Mr. Seth asked. The two laughed and Miss Scott answered, "I wish I knew." "I see. His father must be a military man." "I doubt. He is just street-wise," Mr. Job added. At Johnny’s House He woke up at his natural wake time and remained on the bed. He smiled softly when he watched Ruby sleeping peacefully by his side. Now that he was settled, he pondered on what transpired at the gatehouse when he returned with Ruby. Then, he wondered, “What was Mrs. Gail up to? Would she have stopped me if I was with another girl?” He recalled that since the day he spoke with her after the ugly incident that involved Crystal, she had been friendly and concerned. “Has she been turning my visitors away?” Whatever it was, he was grateful because he had not seen any girl visit him. Besides, the fact that they were afraid of Ruby’s reaction would not be ruled out. At Stanley’s Room He had wished that they would be late for lectures while Carmine would stay behind and take care of Ruby, but a phone call woke him up and was angry with the caller. He checked the time, and it was 5:30 AM. Then, he picked up his phone and saw the caller. He got out of bed and sat on the couch. “Hello, Hayes. Good morning.” “Good morning, Stanley. I called to congratulate you and Johnny on Ruby’s pregnancy. That is good news.” Now, Stanley wondered how he got the news, but did not bother to ask him. He covered up and accepted the good wish. “Oh! That is thoughtful of you. Thank you for the good wish.” “It is all right. I will see you later.” “Okay, bye.” Now, Carmine was awakened by their discussion and she listened carefully. When they ended the call, she demanded, “How did he get to know that she was pregnant?” “I would not know. I will find out when I see him.” “Maybe Johnny informed him.” “I doubt. Johnny does not have his contact, neither does he have his.” Now, Carmine sat up and wondered why they did not have each other’s contact and asked, “Why?” Stanley laughed because Carmine thought that Johnny was just a student with the name, Young CEO, for fun. Then, he gave her the response that she would love to hear. “They have not thought of exchanging contacts.” Carmine smiled and remarked, “I see. Besides, he can always reach him through you.” “You got it.” (Ding) Now, his phone beeped, and he noticed that a message just came in, and he tried to check. “What? Two hundred and thirteen messages," he exclaimed. Meanwhile, Carmine had gotten out of bed and walked to the toilet to answer the call of nature. Then, he punched the message button and read through. (Congratulations. I’m glad to hear that your friend will soon be a father.) (Good news, Stanley.) (Expectant uncle. Congratulations.) (The celebration had begun. See you in the garden in the evening.) Now, Carmine was out of the toilet and sat beside him. “What's up? I heard you exclaim.” “You can't believe this, Baby. Two hundred and thirteen messages.” “What are the messages all about.” “They are about Ruby's pregnancy.” “How come? How did they find out?” Carmine asked anxiously. “Hold on. I will find out," Stanley promised. Then, he called Francis, one of the senders, and he picked up at once. “Wow! Congratulations to the happily expectant uncle.” Stanley played along while Carmine eagerly looked on. “You got it. I can't wait to see the baby. By the way, I can't remember mentioning it to you. How did you find out?" “It is all over the internet. Check her posts.” “Oh! I completely forgot that she posted it there. It is all right. See you in the evening.” Before the call ended, Carmine had bent her head down in shame and Stanley observed that. “What is this girl's relationship with the internet?” Carmine asked. “I told you that Johnny almost hit her. I can see reason with him.” “You would have allowed him to hit her, at least a little.” “Hit her? I don't subscribe to that." Now, Carmine dressed up and Stanley inquired. “Why are you dressing up? I don't think there is a lecture for you two today.” “I want to find out from Ruby why she made that post.” Before Stanley could stop her, she was out of the room. Stanley dressed up too and tagged along. “Ruby.” She called out, after knocking on Johnny's door.
