Nevertheless, Johnny concealed his worries and doubts and responded with a good reason to cover up his Ruby.
“Thank you for calling my attention to the post. She was euphoric and posted the good news online.”
“That is good. It strongly suggests that she is proud to be carrying your baby. I love that.”
Before Johnny could process Gerald's commendation, they observed that there was an uproar coming from another faculty. They turned suddenly and behold Crystal and some of her colleagues of about twenty walking to his department.
At the Vice Chancellor's Office
Ruby left her hostel after she got dressed up and walked to the Vice Chancellor's office. Nevertheless, she got there at 7:55 AM.
“Good morning, Sir. The VC sent for me.” 
“You can go in," the VC's secretary advised her. 
She appreciated him and opened the door in trepidation.
“Good morning, Prof. Farrell. I apologize for not keeping to time," she greeted and waited for his reaction. 
Now, he searched her up and down before he spoke with a sad tone, “Take your seat.”
“Thank you, Prof. Farrell.”
Now, she had taken her seat, she looked into his eyes and waited for the worst. 
Then, he asked, “What do you have to say about the post you made on the internet?”
Now, Ruby looked down and remained silent, which the VC misinterpreted, and blurted out, “If you must go into a relationship, why not look for a decent boy instead of a rascal?”
Now, Ruby, who felt that he was referring to Johnny's misconduct at the female hostel that morning, remained calm but said in her mind, "My Johnny is not a rascal."
“Switch off your phone and drop it on my table. I want to see how you would have time for rascals and posting rubbish on social media. Don't you know that you put the school in a bad light and make me look incompetent," the VC pointed out in a rush. 
At that point, Ruby was crying profusely as she switched off her phone. She dropped it on the table and continued to sob. Now, Prof. Farrell was sympathetic and felt that he should postpone the discussion. Then, he called on the Medical Director of the University Senior Staff Clinic, Dr. Madeline Harmon. A thirty-five-year-old lady and an obstetrician. The school employed her because they prefer a woman taking the delivery of their babies to a man. 
When the call connected, she greeted him, “Hello, Prof. Farrell. How may I be of help?”
“Hello, Dr. Harmon. I would like to see you in my office now if you are not too busy.”
“I will be with you shortly, Prof.”
While waiting for her, the Vice Chancellor busied himself with other things. Not long after, Dr. Harmon, whose clinic was on the administrative block, walked in. 
Ruby was still crying but she gave her a warm smile before she greeted, “Good morning, Prof.”
“Good morning, Doctor. Kindly take your seat.”
“Thank you, Prof," she appreciated and took her seat beside Ruby and greeted, "Hello, pretty girl.”
“Good morning, Dr. Harmon," he responded between sobs. Now, the Vice Chancellor pleaded.
“Dr. Harmon, kindly do me a favor. As you can see, she is going through stress. I found out that she is pregnant when someone called my attention to her post on the internet.”
“Wow! Consider it done, Prof," she promised.
Then, she faced Ruby and inquired, “Are you Ruby Dustin?”
“Yes, Dr. Harmon.”
Dr. Harmon stood up and said. “Come with me, Ruby.”
Ruby got up at once and looked at her phone that was on the table. Then, Prof. Farrell noticed it and took it away from the spot. 
He faced Dr. Harmon and warned, “I don't want anyone to know that she is with you, neither do I want her to step out of the clinic without my permission. Did you get me?”
“I got it, Prof. Farrell. Come with me, Ruby.”
They walked out of the office and soon, they were at the Senior Staff Clinic. After they left, Prof. Farrell was relieved. He opened his drawer and dropped Ruby's phone. 
Then, he called on his secretary through the intercom, and he walked in immediately.
“You called me, Prof.”
“Yes, Jim….”
He stopped when he caught sight of the school's main gate from the Closed-Circuit Television. He observed the television for a while, and the secretary observed too.
“What is going on at the gate?” He asked when he saw many vehicles lined up. 
Not only that, he observed that the number of vehicles on the school premises was more than the ones outside the gates.
"This is serious,” Jim remarked. 
Instantly, the Vice Chancellor called Mr. Tucker. 
The overwhelmed head of security picked up the call instantly and greeted him, “Good morning, Prof. Farrell.”
“Good morning, Mr. Tucker. What is the matter at the gate? Why do we have many visitors?”
“They said they wished to see a student, who fell pregnant.”
“Are you serious? What for?”
“I don't know their reasons, Prof.”
“It is all right," he said and cut at once.
 Likewise, he ordered his secretary, “You can leave.”
After the secretary left, he called the doctor.
At the Senior Staff Clinic
“Kindly take your seat, Ruby," Dr. Harmon advised. 
The distressed Ruby, who wished to protect her man, took her seat. The doctor took her seat as well and asked for her details. She was writing down her details until she got to the question that Ruby could not answer.
“How many weeks is your pregnancy.”
She looked at the doctor and nodded her head in the negative. 
The doctor encouraged her with a smile and said, “Take this. Go to the powder room pass urine into it and bring it back.”
"Okay, Doctor," she said. 
She got up and followed her signal. While she was in the toilet, the doctor's phone rang.
“Hello, Prof. Is anything the issue?”
“Yes, Doctor. Please, nobody should know her whereabouts, not even your staff. Just take a look at the gate. Could you believe that they are visiting our school, just to see her?”
“Oh! My God. What for?” She asked when she looked at her video surveillance.
“I don't know. Just do as I said.”
“I got it, Prof.”
Now, Ruby was out of the toilet with the bottle of urine. She handed it over to the doctor and sat down. She watched the doctor keenly after she picked up a pregnancy kit and observed all that she did, which was not different from how she got the result of her pregnancy. 
While the doctor was waiting for the result of the pregnancy, she faced Ruby and asked, “How did you know that you are pregnant?”
