While they reminisced about their pasts, they got to the gate of Mount City University. To their chagrin, they saw the fleet of luxury cars that queued up and wished to gain access to the university. At the University Gate “What is going on?” Sir Stewart asked aloud. He experienced such a long queue three years ago when his son gained admission into the university. Then, the city higher-ups were scrambling for the limited slots available. Although his son was able to gain admission because he was intelligent, that would not guarantee that another money bag would not buy his slot, so he was on his toes. Now, his Personal Assistant got out of the security van and walked to the gate to make inquiries about the long queue. He walked past over one hundred and fifty cars before he got to the gate and chatted the busy security men up. “Hello, Officers. Good day,” he greeted them. Then, the busy Head of the Securities, who was exhausted, gave him a perfunctory response. “Hello,” he responded and attempted to walk out on him and see how he could ease off the congested road. Then, the PA called his attention by introducing himself, “Officer. I’m Joel, from the Stewart Group of Companies. Permit me to make some inquiries.” Now, the security officer stopped suddenly as he heard the name of the company, that had impacted so much on the university, and extended his hand to him for a handshake. “Good to see you, Joel. How may I be of help?” he inquired cheerfully. “Thank you, Officer. May I know what is going on in the campus? I mean, why all these visitors?” Now, the security officer smiled and gave him the reason to the extent that he understood. Then, Joel, who found the reason for the long queue, ludicrous, chuckled and exclaimed, “Wow! That is funny.” The Security Officer smiled too and admitted, “You are right. Excuse me.” “Thank you, Officer. We may have to leave and come back tomorrow.” “I think that is a better option. I can’t see this traffic easing off in the next three hours.” “You are right, Officer. I am grateful for the information,” Joel appreciated him and extended his right hand to him once again for a handshake. The Security Officer did the same, and after the handshake, he acknowledged, “You are welcome, Joel. See you tomorrow.” Now, the Personal Assistant walked back to meet his boss, who was waiting anxiously for the reason for the long queue. Howbeit, there were about fifty cars already lined up behind their security van. “What is the matter, Joel?” Sir Stewart asked nonchalantly. Likewise, Joel, who felt that the reason would not interest his boss, smiled before he informed him, "The security officer said that a student fell pregnant, and they are here, just to have a chat with the lady.” “What?” Sir Stewart exclaimed, and Joel, misunderstood the boss’ exclamation to mean resentment. "Yes, Boss. I propose that we leave at once. I don’t know when this long queue will ease off today," he proposed. “You are right, Joel. We will leave.” “Okay, Boss.” Now, Joel walked back to the security van and waited for his boss to reverse so that they could follow behind, but he did not. Rather, he reasoned with his wife, who looked disappointed. “I can’t believe this, Mitchell,” he pointed out. “I am surprised, too. Such a number of people looking for a girl who fell pregnant! It is ridiculous.” “You are right.” “I would not want to be seen on this queue, please.” “I understand. What do we do?” “Honestly, I wish I had an idea of what to do. Let us leave here first.” “What if I speak with the Vice Chancellor?” “I think that would be a good start.” “It is okay. I will do that right away.” Then, he put a call across to the Vice Chancellor, who had taken a strict measure to protect the pregnant girl. He picked up the call at once and greeted him, “Sir Stewart, it is good to hear from you.” “Good day, Prof. Farrell. How is your day going?” Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor was not aware that he was privy to the gridlock at the gate, and responded coldly, “My day is going on fine. And you?” "Fine. Thank you?" Then, Sir Stewart looked at his wife who was looking anxiously at him before he continued, “You sound cold, Prof. I hope the work is not stressful.” Meanwhile, Prof. Farrell was not aware that Sir Stewart and his wife were in the queue. So, he opened up and narrated the ordeal he was facing and concluded with, “Sir Stewart, you need to see the number of cars that are lined up at the gate, just to see a student who fell pregnant. Is this not the height of joblessness?” At that point, Jason realized what his wife meant by ‘I would not want to be seen on this queue'. Then, he feigned ignorance of the story and exclaimed, “What! How did it happen?” “I learned that her lover was an incautious boy who denied the pregnancy.” Then, he calmed down and asked, “I see. Permit me to ask. Are you familiar with the student?” “Yes, Sir Stewart. The student is an orphan who is under the university’s care. She is one of the beneficiaries of our scholarship scheme.” “That is good. So, what are your plans for the student and the pregnancy?” “Well, the best that I wish to do for her is to get a foster home for her. She needs a good family that can make her and the unborn baby feel wanted.” “That is thoughtful of you, Prof. Do you have any family in mind?” “Not yet. I'm very circumspect on this, and I will not be rushing to accept anybody.” “I entirely agree with you. Do you mind if I volunteer to be of assistance?” Now, the Vice Chancellor was over the moon and he did not hide it. Then, he expressed his delight, "Oh! Sir Stewart, that will make my day. Your family is the only family that I can trust with such a task. I pray that Lady Stewart would agree with this.” “It is all right. Thank you for finding my family worthy. I will talk to her and get her opinion.” “You are welcome. I am waiting, Sir Stewart.” “That is okay. You will hear from me soon.” “I am counting on you.” “See you later.” “One more thing, Sir Stewart," hinted Prof. Farrell. He was not aware that Lady Stewart was beside him, and was doubtful that she would approve of her husband's arrangement.
