Tamed By Her Love Episode 65

Dominic drove off, and he called his wife and waited for her to pick up her call. Afterward, the call timed out and he tried again. To his amazement, she did not pick.
'She is not close to her phone,' he concluded and gave up calling her for the moment.
Then, he rested his head on the seat and relished his moment with his son. He remembered the days when he picked him up from Kindergarten and taught him self-confidence. He would always long to see his father after school. The moment, he sighted him, he would jump to his bosom and he would hug him. While he was lost in the pleasure of his thoughts, his phone rang, and the tone jolted him up.
He picked up the call with delight, and she apologized, “I apologize, Hubby. I missed your call.”
“It is all right. We are a few meters from your office.”
“It is all right. I will wait for you.”
After a few minutes, they were in the wife's vestibule. As usual, he got out and opened the front door for her, and she got in while Dominic joined the security vehicle.
“My pineapple. You look so happy today. What's the secret?” His wife pointed out.
“Guess the secret.”
“It is obvious. Fostering the pregnant girl.”
Sir Stewart wrinkled his face and refuted, “No. Something more than that.”
At that moment, she could not think of anything else because her son could never be an option.
“I give up.”
“I had lunch with our precious son," he announced with a broad smile. If Sir Stewart was not driving, Lady Stewart would have given him a romantic kiss.
“I can't believe it. What must have brought him.”
“I think he was homesick. He said he missed us.”
“Missed us? What of his numerous girlfriends?”
“Apart from Stanley, no other person called for the few minutes we were together.”
“I can't believe this.”
“I was surprised, too. But he was emaciated and looked worried.”
“Worried?”
“Yes. I could feel his heartbeat when he hugged me.”
“I will see him in school.”
Her husband turned and looked at her. She recognized the look and declared.
“I will mask up. I must see him. At least to know why he is emaciating.”
With the mask, Sir Stewart was comfortable because only a few people would associate him with Lady Stewart Stewart. Then, he teased, “Just say you want to get a hug from him as well.”
“You got it. I can't be left out."
They laughed heartily, and Sir Stewart pointed out again, “Our son is the best son in the world.”
“Truly. Your positive remarks about him are working.”
“I believe you.”
“I thought of something, my sweet pie,” Sir Stewart pointed out.
“Let's hear it.”
“Can we reverse to our initial plan of adopting the orphan and her unborn baby?”
“I will be fulfilled if it works.”
“It is all right. I will talk to the Vice Chancellor and watch his reaction.”
Afterward, they branched off to a mall and bought some beverages and multivitamins in case of any dietary deficiencies for Johnny. Not long after, they were at the university. He honked at Joel, who was waiting for them at the gate, and they joined the team. The team parked in the vestibule and Sir Stewart got out of his car and opened the door for his wife. Meanwhile, Dominic got out of the security van and walked to his boss. He collected the car keys from him and moved the car to the car park.
Nevertheless, the Vice Chancellor, who was enthusiastically waiting for them, walked out of his office to receive them. He gave them a warm handshake. Although Prof. Farrell and Sir Stewart were schoolmates, he never took that for granted. He accorded him the respect he deserved as the major donor and supporter of his school.
“I'm most delighted to have you, Lady Stewart,” he greeted her warmly.
“Thank you, Prof. Farrell, for believing in us. I am glad that we earned your trust on a matter like this?”
“Oh! My Lady. I'm most honored by the support that you have given to my friend on this issue. Once again, I say thank you.”
“You are welcome, Prof.”
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated Lady Stewart as though her husband was insignificant in the plans to foster the pregnant girl.
Then, he spoke, “Just as I have informed you, she is an orphan, but an intelligent and well-behaved girl.”
“I see. Have you bothered to find out the boy responsible for the pregnancy?” Sir Stewart asked with concern, but the Vice Chancellor's body language said it all.
“I don't think the rascal deserves her. He must have taken advantage of her lonely life. And that is why I need to attach her to people like you, who would give her a sense of belonging.”
“That is good. I would like our identity to remain undisclosed to her at the moment. Or what do you think?”
The Vice-Chancellor nodded his head in approval.
“I agree with you, Sir Stewart. That is a good idea."
"Good."
"I can send for her if you don't mind.”
The couple looked at each other, and Sir Stewart spoke, “Prof. Lady Stewart had her reservations about fostering the orphan.”
Now, he paused and looked at the VC's fallen mood. He observed the disappointment on his face and continued, “It is not what you think, Prof. She preferred adoption, to fostering, but she doubted if it would be possible.”
At that moment, the Vice Chancellor's face beamed with delight, and he spoke, “I resorted to fostering because I thought it would be difficult to get adoptive parents. Now that you came up with it, it has made my work simple.”
“Thank you, Prof. Farrell. You look downcast, is anything the matter?” Sir Stewart inquired.
“You are right. I recalled that she confided in me how life had been unfair to her, and now, she is blessed with a family that she would call hers. Thank you so much, Lady Stewart.”
“I'm more grateful.”
“Can I send for her now?”
The couple gave their approval, and he picked up his phone to call Dr. Harmon.
